I remember LOVING this ship, before Master Modes. I took it through many a "Pirate Swarm", it was such a good an competent ship. I'm rather surprised at seeing the DPS and HP being so low. I honestly thought that it would be in the same ball park as the Titan with damage and speed at least. Still I love this ship. I have the "Pirate Gladius" and don't plan on getting rid of it, though I wouldn't complain if the Pirate pack came with something other than the Caterpillar, lol. I'm definitely going to need more practice with combat after master modes.
I’ve had one for a year and honestly never use it. A better gameplay loop is using the Titan for dogfights because if you soft death them you can collect their systems with the Titan and sell them. Like the Titan, there is more than one variant also. The updated sounds are reminiscent of a Tie fighter, so that’s a plus. It’s what I hate about my Cutlass Black, it sounds like a radial engined B52 from WWII 😂
I've had and flown Gladiators before, but they (and the arrow) just never did it for me. I always preferred my 325a or my Heartseeker. Now that I have the F7A mk2, I pretty much never fly any other fighter. Most days, I'll fly my 400i, 325a, or 600i Explorer as multi-role ships, and only pull out my Hornet if I want to just chain bounties. But it's been years since I've flown a Gladius. It's a cool ship, and I do keep an Invictus Blue and Gold and a Solar Winds in my Hangar in case I am flying one, but it's pretty rare.
@@EvenLease44 sadly i haven't been able to play properly since .18 or so dam surge board failed to protect my rig im stuck with an i7 10th gen 1660ti laptop and sc over heats it to fast on potato settings lol :(
@EvenLease44 it's been great! I swapped out the gatling gun although I go back to it from time to time because having non Lazer weapons helps with ships with a larger shield pool. Normally I strictly use lazers on the smaller ships until I see their hull has enough damage to warrant using the gatling to finish them off. Small fighters never have anything against larger ships unless you have more than one fighter with you though.
This and the Heartseeker are my only pledged ships. I adore the Gladius and think it should be the balance benchmark. By that I mean: every multicrew position has to justify not being a Gladius instead. So getting into a turret should bring an amount of damage and utility equal to just bringing another Gladius. This means every single turret and multicrew position in the game is currently under tuned. Which, of course, is exactly what we have seen for 12 years: people only do multicrew as novelty or change of pace, because multicrew is far too weak. No amount of out of combat odds and ends are ever going to fully offset that. Ships don’t live long enough for you to get out of a hammerhead’s turret, run down corridors, swap a fuse, run back, and rejoin the fight. All of that will fill time between or after fights-as in, a Hammerhead could repair in flight, while a Gladius has to land and be externally accessed. Until a Hammerhead brings 7x Gladius Dps, durability, and utility, it’ll always be a novelty. As will every other multicrew ship.
My Gladius I bought with in-game currency got deleted (yeah I know, but it was the only one that got deleted) I think Im gonna see if I can get it back.

It’s still a blast, 1v1 you’ll easily beat a bucc!

The Gladius is my pledge ship and the only combat ship I own. I'm a terrible dogfighter but it's still fun to do.
it makes me think back to the Firefox from the Clint Eastwood Film of the same name.
I got this from the referral reward for getting 10 people over and I freaking love it
I always want to have a fighter in my fleet but im such a garbage fighter pilot 😂. Great ship
I have the gladius and i love the Sound. 😊
I loved my gladius , but light fighters just can’t compete with larger ships
I love this ship, put 3xS3 Quadrell Cannons on this babe and she shreds

Beautiful ship!
The Gladius is quite the looker, nimble too.
@ indeed
Whats funny is i have this ship and i dont believe ive ever flown in it. True story!
Try it out. It looks, and flies phenomenaly it also sounds great
this intro music slaps! love it!
Melted my F8/MKII for a Gladius/Arrow and Buccaneer, these 3 are realistic and perfect for what they are designed for
How did you manage to obscure your character's face during the intro? Looks better than CIG's default ugly face lamp.
ahh the og and the plane for skilled pilots
yes ive feed on many a wallet warriors tears in sabers and the lightening's and had so much salt dumped on me i could start a mine
@@raymondsims537if you don’t mind me asking how do you feel about it in 3.23?

i think the titan will get a massive nerf in the future or a big price increase. like the conni its to strong in comparison in his category
If you were to upgrade its weapons, what would you go with?

The end of the wings shouldve been missiles or guns.
The gladius is a beautiful ship but have no need for a solo fighter
The default loadout for this ship makes it seem so much worse than it actually is. They need to fix laser repeaters.
I would only get that ship if it’s a pirate version
I want a mech the length of the gladiator
man i want to buy a new ship., but yeah man the light fighteers look like wasted money compared to a buccaneer or a titan
Shame that MM and new ship/weapon stats broke the "game"
Your gsafe is on.
Nah… i prefere my san’tok.tai
MM and curent ship/weapon stats are terible. In 3.22 the arrow and gladius were feared but now they are a joke, same as CIG
