His name was supposed to be Nero Angelo meaning Black Angel in Italian, but due to a translation error, his name is Nelo Angelo. This is because the L sounding and R sounding characters are written the same in Japanese
The DMC translators can never get this right. As has been said in this comment chain, it was supposed to be "Nero Angelo" (black angel) in DMC1. They got "Nero" correct in DMC4... And then misspelled "Belial" as "Berial"
Bro the atmosphere in this game is nothing compared to other games in the Devil may cry franchise, I was really afraid of being surprised by some macabre opponent, and the soundtrack is a relic, it's beautiful, is perfect.

I think the final battle with nelo angelo was the best since after defeating him, Dante sees the vergil half of the amulet and realizes that he just killed his brother, once again 💔
Nelo Angelo has so much style :) he’s my fave boss in all of dmc, only rivaled by… himself! I hope we get a remake of dmc1, I wanna see Nelo in shiny shiny HD :3 plus with hopefully some more character moments!

I'll be honest, I didn't really like the first game, it's my least favorite of the 5, but one thing I will always find awesome about it is Nelo Angelo. Still one of the best bosses in DMC history

A lot of people keep arguing about his name is not Nero Angelo it's Nelo angelo, all said and true, but if one person was smart enough to do research they would know that in Japan the letter L and the letter R and their vowel sounds are harder to pronounce in Japan that it is in america, so because of that that's how you got the name instead of Nero Angelo which in Italian translate to Black knight, which makes Virgil who's been transformed into this artificial demon the Black Knight
The game is pretty easy on normal difficulty. Dante Must Die is hard, but nowhere near as hard as 3’s DMD, especially if you’re trying to S rank it. In terms of difficulty (easiest to hardest) I would say it’s DMC5, DMC4, DMC1, DMC3 and DMC2 (Being forced to play DMC2 is a CIA torture method)
I agree with the sentiment of facing Nelo Angelo sword-to-sword, but the mofo can /block/ and /teleport/. However, our boy here did the vast majority of his damage with Alastor, so it's still a relatively fair and honourable fight.

Well he didn’t *really* kill his brother obviously since he came back after 2 but Dante still felt remorseful during 2 I believe.

to my knowledge Nelo never knew he was Vergil and Dante only found out when he dropped his amulet
