@@antwango Generalisation much? I'll tell you where the Japanese games industry is headed. Elden Ring, Breath of the Wild 2, Final Fantasy Remake Part 2, Monster Hunter Rise Ultimate, Persona 5 Strikers, Metroid Dread. Just because one (or even some) developers cater to specific tastes doesn't mean that's indicative of an entire industry.
@@pixeljauntvr7774 Those are not the chief indicators of Japanese gaming industry considering you just listed some of the bigger companies they have. Persona is still on the rise yet Atlus is having a rough time at the moment financially. The vast majority if not all of the Japanese AA market is fanservice or anime. It has been that way, though 20% had diversity where none can be found now given the recession has made not just games, but anime target a niche audience. There is hope for some in exploring more than just that, but many are fine doing the same thing or sticking to a steady income, yet nothing creative. Metroid Dread is also an odd want to point to considering there is skepticism on whether it will be successful and it hasn't come out yet. Persona 5 Stirkers is also a weird choice considering it is just Koei-Tecmo doing what they have always done, just with Persona flair. Fanservice games are fine for their audience, but they offer nothing toward growing the Japanese market or the imagination it used to have. FF VII Remake Pt. 2 is also up for debate considering the ending to the first put off many people and that game will determine if all the experimentation will sink or float the remake. Square-Enix hasn't been doing well for quite some time besides a few titles and FF XIV keeping it going.
@@blumiu2426 Holy crap! Talk about moving goal posts. AAA games are not indicative of the Japanese games industry but a handful of obscure AA are? "Fanservice AND ANIME." Again a sweeping generalisation in an attempt to reframe the conversation. Not all animes are adult.
@@pixeljauntvr7774 No goal post moved, stayed on the field. How did you miss the point of what was being said? The majority of the Japanese market are AA games, not AAA because of Japan's economy still being in a recession. I'm no expert, but I have been aware and still savvy on the state of the game and anime industry there. Why would you say Nintendo makes niche games? They are THE biggest publisher in Japan. They aren't going wrong with including AA games, but they will eventually run into the problem of what to include before long. People don't think this, but they already censor their own games willingly. I enjoy the games that take risks beyond their budget or try to recapture the spirit JRPGs are remembered for and some still maintain to some degree, but not from the fanservice games. They've always been exactly what they are for two decades now in their approach. They bring variety to the market, but nothing of value as far as games go....unless maybe monkey spanks.

Galactic Pinball is a fantastic pinball game… on a related note, so is Kirbys Pinball Land. Video pinball that doesn’t shackle itself to the physical restrictions of actual pinball are usually the best.
Games you didn't mention that aren't Pinball Arcade or Pinball FX I would say worth playing are Psycho Pinball, Crue Ball and Devlish although the latter is more Breakout.
Thanks for the recommendation here. I've always loved Pinball games. Did either of you ever play the PC game 3D Ultra Pinball: Creep Night for PC? I don't know exactly why, but I swear I dumped hundreds of hours into that game as a kid. The music was especially great, if I remember right.
I have a weird link to this game, as it was the last demo disc I was ever able to get as a kid from a Gamestop back when they would give out free "video game swag" if you asked nicely.
Hey! Would love to hear what you think of PinOut on iOS? It's my goto.
I only see the Power and Eject button .....Ps2 still looks amazing
the last level looks so much like toru iwatani first games along with pac-man keys
