    Love that thing! It's always fun to discover old tech and analyse what people used to like earlier. A very good experience in my opinion.

      Absolutely! Been loving that there is still a company willing to activate these old things...they are a ton of fun to use. Loving that keyboard. Thanks!

      @@xpired5328 The Treo is a smartphone, but the bigger capacitive screen of the iPhone was the death nell for Palm. Palm uses a stylus instead. You could use a fingernail, but not as well. I agree about the keyboard. i love typing on mine. I make fewer mistakes than on my laptop!

      Haha, took a few days of trying, and way too many hours on tech support..also have to not be willing to take no for an answer! But definitely worth it...so cool to still be able to use these devices. Thanks for watching!

      It seems like you know your stuff about that, haha. Any idea if we’ll be able to do something similar with BBOS devices after January?

    • @StevealiciousTech
      @StevealiciousTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wish! Apparently, people have been wiping them and setting them up without BB IDs but the best you would hope for with that is text and calls with no data. Even then, they most likely would be kicked off networks. I hope someone comes up with something!

    I still have my Treo 650. I have so many notes on it from my residency that I still plug it up to check on things. This video has motivated me to try and use it again. It still works perfectly. The Palm Calendar was so much easier to manage.
    Thanks!

    • @StevealiciousTech

      Absolutely! Still love using it...quite simple and still a great little device. I'm sad they shut it down. I used it until the end just recently but still works just fine as a Palm!

    Awesome video! One of the benefits of living outside the US is having older networks around for longer so most older devices like this get to live longer in service!
    Palm was so ahead of their time, absolute shame they don’t make devices anymore :(

      They were the leader for individual users (Blackberry was for corporate users) when the iPhone came out and Palm lost its user base.

    • @TuNnL
      @TuNnL ปีที่แล้ว

      @@someguy2135 it's such a tragedy that only U.S. Sprint bought into Palm's vision during the Treo era. I was a heavy Palm PDA user, but used T-Mobile for wireless, and they pushed Nokia like nobody's business.
      So I ended up having two separate devices. By the time I switched to Verizon, Palm devices had flirted then broke up with Windows Mobile and had moved on to webOS. 💁🏻‍♂️

    I'm gonna have to pick up a Tom Tom kit for my Treo 650! My Treo 650s probably have the best standby battery life of any phone in my collection. The last time I had my Treo 650 activated was about a month ago and only just last night was I woken up by a low battery alert. Those treos are also really tough. I had one go through the wash cycle and it still works. Only problem is some dead pixels in the display.

    • @StevealiciousTech
      @StevealiciousTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Tom Tom kit is great and even if you don't have the antenna to get the GPS to work, it still works as a bluetooth car speaker phone for your Palm. Suction cup is amazing as well...best I've ever seen at holding. The battery life is INCREDIBLE. Thanks again for watching!
