I'm 51, started drumming when I was 13 mainly because of Dave Lombardo's double bass. Not many metal drummers play with a single bass pedal, Iron Maiden's Nicko McBrain is an exception and he sounds like he's playing with two pedals on a lot of songs. I gave her video a Thumbs Up, no jealousy here, just very impressed. I can't play blast beats anymore, 2 minutes in and I'd have to stop and put on an oxygen mask.

The group (of 3) found a new drummer and rebranded as Trident. And amazingly enough the drummer they found (Nagisa) is a Junna clone. Also if i recall correctly, Junna did not start playing the drums until she was 15.
I've played this song a few dozen times, and that ending is very high level... she nailed it as did the rest of the song!! Any proffesional drummer have fear, and keep their heads down. She so so young, energetic, and confident. There not a drop of fear in that young girl. She's so play letting it rip by muscle memory. She has the stamina, so no issues there either. She also not doing that off the cuff either. She's practiced that many times as well. Hats she's doing isn't all that difficult, just keep it tight!
It's always such a joy to watch a musician who really loves what they are doing. And I just love it when they make those faces like Junna does. That when you know they are 110% into it! xD Also, loved that drinking reference to the music video :P

I wouldn't give her parents too much credit. If you like Junna, you will LOVE Yoyoka Samo, another Japanese drum prodigy. She will be 13 this year and has been playing drums since she was 2 years old, and there's video to prove it. She had her own TH-cam channel at 5 and has been doing tutorials from the age of 6. She does not read music but can play by ear alone. It takes her 1 day to memorize a song and then makes a cover video. Last year for her 12th birthday she did a series of live sessions with some of Japan's best session musicians. You have to check out her work, it's amazing.

after watching gee ana... somethin' or other, the original drummer, play "through the fire", what is impressive with junna's performance, and i think why HE reacted as he did, is that while he is an exceptional drummer, himself, to play drums at that speed means, for many drummers, sacrificing a little bit of "the show"... playing close to the kit... whereas junna simple batters the skins without mercy but precisely. at least that's how i compare junna's performance to 3 different performances of gee (and watching the official vid explains why junna takes a drink break... i've watched several "reaction vid" makers wrinkle their foreheads when they see it). her performance is a blur of action and satisfaction. i'm glad she doesn't play the piano, as my life would have no further meaning ;)

I wouldn't give her parents too much credit. It was either get her interested in drums or put up with having their house destroyed on a weekly basis with a young daughter with THAT much energy to spare. Holy crap on a cracker but she has energy to spare. I love how she actually rebounds when she stops drumming. That is so fun to watch.

She was a member of the rock trio "Girls Rock Band Kakumei" (started in 2013 when the bassist and guitarist were in the same high school music club) but left in 2020. Okay I have been a Drummer for a long time and followed some of the Greats, Neal, Buddy, Keith, and I have to say that this girl is beyond Talented. If I didn't know better All the great drummers in the world like I mentioned Neil Peart, Buddy Rich, Keith Moon, Gene Krupa, I think they all had a hand in creating such a Great Talent
Imagine dragon force doing a show in a nearby city where this girl lives and requests SHE play through the fire and flames!! The drummer from dragon force already said this was his favorite cover and just think 50 years down the road and dragon force is in history and she looks back as she tells her grandchild she played the drums on stage for a dragon force song at 10 years old! I honestly think she can handle it! But what do I know I can barely pour a drink left handed at age 31 😂

Male professional drummers with years of experience, have been left as a puddle on the floor when confronted with playing this. Look at those twin tails fly!!! If you like Junna, you will LOVE Yoyoka Samo, another Japanese drum prodigy. She will be 13 this year and has been playing drums since she was 2 years old, and there's video to prove it. She had her own TH-cam channel at 5 and has been doing tutorials from the age of 6. She does not read music but can play by ear alone. It takes her 1 day to memorize a song and then makes a cover video. Last year for her 12th birthday she did a series of live sessions with some of Japan's best session musicians. You have to check out her work, it's amazing.
@@MrAntisound Kanade and Senri are definitely technically gifted, but the totality of presence, especially with Akane, makes it a bit of a different quality. I've seen Akane live twice and she just has that flair and pure joy in what she does on stage.

after watching gee ana... somethin' or other, the original drummer, play "through the fire", what is impressive with junna's performance, and i think why HE reacted as he did, is that while he is an exceptional drummer, himself, to play drums at that speed means, for many drummers, sacrificing a little bit of "the show"... playing close to the kit... whereas junna simple batters the skins without mercy but precisely. at least that's how i compare junna's performance to 3 different performances of gee (and watching the official vid explains why junna takes a drink break... i've watched several "reaction vid" makers wrinkle their foreheads when they see it). her performance is a blur of action and satisfaction. i'm glad she doesn't play the piano, as my life would have no further meaning ;)

I think that the new drummer fit more than Junna, I"m not talking that she is better or worst, its just a feeling that Junna on this band is far ahead with his drums, the band are in one place and Junna is just acelerating, leting everybody behind, eating smoke.
