As someone else said, the foil looks like silver leaf. There's also gold leaf foil. It's very thin and can be used in tons of ways. You can usually find it in craft stores / sections. It will adhere to most things but I'm sure a fabric glue would help with longevity.
If you like the look of it you can use it on frames, pottery, cabinets... anything you'd want to look like metal. Maybe look on youtube for silver or gold foil techniques.
But she had a full on roll of that foil? I’ve only ever seen small squares of silver/gold leaf 😭
@@Vinsainto those are food grade ones. the ones she has are printer paper sized not rolls lol i really don't know how to explain how to look for them but they used them with heat rollers and paper and glue for transferring onto designs drawn with glue on paper.. ugh why is it so hard to explainnn lol i've seen them in crafts stores thooo
Hmmm... I'm not super familiar with silver foil nor if it comes in large sheets or rolls. It seems like some ppl have seen it that way but I haven't noticed it. Perhaps it depends on where one is located or where one looks? So frustrating. But if it is silver leaf then the small sheets should be easier to handle and should give the same effect. It just might take longer and may be messier. Now I'm curious to find out if silver leaf comes in large rolls... Sure could be useful for some art... Good luck. And your denim pieces are lovely btw!
@@drinkzcoffee5183 i think the actual foil you are talking about wouldn't stay very long on fabric. it would look cool for a minute and start flaking as soon as you touch it or bend the fabric.. this thing im talking about is not metallic it's literally metallic looking paint on the back of a plastic sheet that can be transferred to another sheet with glue on the places you want it to stick.. but it's not real metal.. or at least it doesn't look like it when it transferrst to fabric.

15:50 Don't know if anyone told you... But you need heat transfer metallic foil, or a craft metallic foil sheet that transfers with glue. These are found in craft stores! So... Not kitchen aluminium foil... And no vinyl. Turned out amazing! Legit start selling these tyes! It is the perfect gift!
Make sure the fabric glue gets tacky / sticky before placing the foil or removing the foil! Otherwise it won't stick...

Maybe the fact that you had the wrong foil is a blessing in disguise so that you didn't take your beautiful work and make it foily then end up not liking it anymore

The foil looks a lot like silver leaf, something they use to imitate silvering in all sorts of DIYs
When you started applying miscellaneous pieces I gasped! So creative and (funnily enough) not over the top for some reason. I found it really cohesive 😍

1. You are adorable!! 2. Try again with heat transfer foil for clothing (hot stamp foil). it is very very thin stuff, not the same as traditional gold or silver leaf and different from heat transfer vinyl for clothing. It comes in rolls usually where you can find heat transfer vinyl for t-shirts. It works great and there are patterned foils, holo and iridescent too. I love working with it. Give it another go! :)

brazilian here! she uses foil glue, parchment paper and metallic foil transfer paper. she also let the glue dry for two hours

omg vincenttt youre so talented and diligent!! i do acknowledge the creative space of the artist/artists youre crediting but you need to understand that they probably arent the first person/people on the face of this earth to mix and match pieces of denim or random fabric together. they were probably inspired by something similar too. you shouldnt feel like your stealing their ideas! its like using a reference photo for drawings. you respectfully credited them and thats how it should end. youre no copycat!!

I think this is a great video, Vincent!! I think it's actually very creative for you to encounter this problem with having the wrong foil, and yet you still made an interesting video with entertaining content. The designs you were originally doing were inspired, albeit from tiktok and not Ivana Mitchell (who honestly might be a tik tok star or a designer, I'm not sure lol) so I don't think anyone feels any sort of way about your skirt and those/that by Ivana Mitchell. And listen, as cool as those pants looked... this skirt looks really really cool too and also like it will go with more things than shiny would ^-^ . As you said, you already know we're all gonna say it, but don't beat yourself up (:

Off topic, but if you do another 'making meals from different countries' pretty please make a pavlova 😍👌 they're so good and us Aussies make them every Christmas or even other celebrations but mainly christmas. Lamingtons are 100% Aussie too. If you do the pavlova, stick with strawberries, passionfruit, kiwis and blueberries for the fruit, pavlova is sweet so sour fruits are best and balance it out 😁 love you and Naomi, you guys are the only TH-camrs I watch because you're both so genuine and real and seem so caring and thoughtful 💕 sending good vibes

the only difference about the material that I saw was the glue and the foil type. She used a specific glue type for foil and a specify transfer foil. but she said that you can find it in amazon (but as brazilian I'm goint to buy at the same place as she 😅)

Hy … ich habe vor 16 Jahren mal was ähnliches mit Folie gemacht… damals hab ich im Bastel/Hobbybedarf Bügelmetallictransferfolie mit dazu passenden Kleber gemacht war ganz cool und keiner hatte damals was ähnliches… fun zu sehen das alles wiederkehrt … tolles Projekt 🌈🌈🌈

I love that you didn’t do the foil, but you should definitely try it again! I’m not sure if you have this in Germany, but there’s this machine that laser cuts called “cricuit”, and they sell heat transfer foils that you can use with them. I’m pretty sure you can just buy the foils and iron them (you don’t need the machine at all). I would check Amazon im pretty sure they have it. They do here in Canada atleast!

It's fake silver leaf made from aluminium so it's cheaper. I honestly wonder if you could wash it on fabric though.

i love it without the foil, i think it might be too much with the foil unless you only use it sparingly only for some accents. However, if you do that please remember to do it on a left over spare piece of jeans rather than the skirt itself cuz it's too pretty to ruin

I think irridecent vinal would be cooler, but that's me. And if you can't get it to stick with heat transfer, maybe putting it in place with rhinestones for added character and sparkle? Oh! Or maybe that sequin 'fabric' where it's one color if you push it one way, and a different color the other way? Like those Nickolas Cage pillows (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤(≧▽≦)
