- We’re breaking down the similarities between NFL Blitz and NBA Jam Deluxe. Also comparing to NBA Jam Shaq Edition XL, release date is approaching and these are the best references I can use when deciding on buying NBA Jam Deluxe or Shaq Jam.

I love that marquee on shaq jam. I think thats the cabinet to pick out of the 2. I know you'll get the slanted deck with the deluxe ( because shaq doesnt have it right?) But if you can find shaq at a deal go for it!
After seeing the PacMan XL in person and playing it today I think if there’s a choice now between a deluxe or XL I’m going XL :)

The XL are the way to go, they’re not all perfect but the size is worth it. I’d regret passing a 2nd time

EXACTLY the video I've been waiting for but honestly, I still don't know what I'm going to do. I have the NBA Jam XL still in box after the last big Best Buy sale but it really all comes down to two things for me: 1) How many other XLs will they release and 2) how will XL cabs look like when placed next to Deluxe sized cabs. I am heavily invested in 3/4 scale and willing to upgrade all to Deluxe or XL but of course don't know what they plan to do for XL. I'm leaning towards sticking with 3/4 and Deluxe since they seem to get all the love by way of cab choices and stick with XL for unique cabs like Golden Tee, Star Wars, Super Off-Road, etc.

Honestly id go for the deluxe. It looks the the OG. The deck is slanted and feels better and the Shaq Jam has a weird over sized Marquee. BUT you might want to wait for the XL version of the deluxe.

Great job, Phil. You know you made a great point, which I have said to my brother. The 4 player games are a great size for 3 adults to play. And actually, on my Turtles game. I have only had 3 adults playing at one time, and it has been comfortable.

SoulforSale what do you think of Atari 50? Garage Gamers stream a few weeks ago really sold me it looked better than I thought. I sale down the road 399 or less would be tempting.
Another issue is the Deluxe has a 17 xl has a 19 big difference. Dang man I bought a Shaq jam yesterday for 599 at Target. Should I send it back and wait for a price drop?
Man it’s worth the $599, the sale could take another month or two. If I wasn’t going to Cleveland next week I situs have just went with Targets Sale too.

that would put us in just enuff budget to get shaQ jam and spend extra money on upgrades like Retro530 coin doors
and finding a replament LCD screen then we could have fixed shaq jam to a true XL :D

Great assessment. I have 2 cabs I'd love to upgrade to deluxe models - NBA Jam and the OG Capcom Legacy. However, I can't justify selling my OG Jam for $300ish only to turn around and pay $650 for the deluxe. Nor can I justify getting rid of the sublime 1944 on the OG Capcom cabinet for the discolored deluxe. So, I'll probably drop $450 on a Shinku Hadoken and call it a hobby.
Maybe Shinku will drop ShopHippo had a 399 sale but with the deluxe and waiting closer to the holidays maybe 349 range. Shinku is one of my favorite cabs, I’m bummed about the discolor on deluxe I don’t know about that one now. Shaq will be closer to 300 eventually you could always flip yours for XL. Cool video man, don’t make a decision until you see the Deluxe Jam in person. I just installed 4” speaker grills on my MK 30th from Amazon $9.99 and they look identical to the golden tee grills.
Dude that is Awesome!! I just got home from Costco this time PacMan was plugged in yesterday it wasn’t. They 19” screen is massive, I’m really leaning towards Shaq now even more :)
@@PDX7 that’s good man, you buy what you love. I don’t have a lot of room so what I do is have 1Arcade in my living room and play the heck out of it for 1 month and swap for another. In the meantime I keep all my 1ups in my garage so my living space doesn’t look like a 7-11😂

Just ordered nba jam deluxe and the deluxe booster. However a shaq xl is practically new going for 425.00 used near me. 20 in dell2007fpb swap, added coin door though pushes that 425 to over 600. Damn, i was thinking about returning deluxe but shaq xl has so many issue's that need additional money to fix. Got jam deluxe for 600. What should I do? So confused
I think NBA Jam deluxe is worth it, the slanted control deck and the light up buttons plus coin door is a step up from Shaq. The best part of Shaq is the marquee other than that it’s not a true looking arcade. It’s a 300-400 cab, I wouldn’t buy a used one even the upgrade monitor. Deluxe will go on sale if we’re lucky in a few months, I’d keep it.
@@PDX7 oh. So keep deluxe even though after mods with xl they'd be same price? Both have pros and cons like you said. You seemed to lean xl jam couple months ago. That marquee amd size are pretty
@chrisgrossnickle1479 I go back and forth:) If I had an option today for Shaq 299 or Deluxe 399 it’s a toss up. Not saying that either will be this price, but I’d lean a little more towards Deluxe if that helps :)
Is it the price or form factor? Price Shaq will win in the end, but deluxe has a more comfortable playing deck and you really don’t need to change a thing on it. If I could go back in time a year ago I would’ve bought Shaq, but now deluxe is out and you almost want to keep up with new releases. Thanks for watching 👊

Deluxe goes better next to Blitz and buttons are the only thing to change. Shaq needs side art, monitor and buttons. If I didn't have og Jam and already swapped buttons and marquee I'd be interested in deluxe on sale. I am thinking of reworking my Jam into Hangtime. It is by far the best game. But ya do all that then they drop a NBA Showtime cab with 4 games. It's a circle jerk.
Hang time would look awesome Bones, it’s my favorite game too on this cab. I love the deluxe everything about it is good it’s just that size of Shaq man. Seeing it in person it’s huge, yea they’ll screw us and either bring out a new XL Jam next year or Showtime lol always playing catch-up
People just need to see that MK 30th screen. And they will never complain about any other screens on any other machines ever again. 😢 It's crazy because it's my favorite cabinet but it's my biggest offender in the collection. 😂

@PDX7 A1up really knows how to make a stunning cabinet, but sometimes things don't go as planned. I'm with you though, if I spot a good sale on even the Peasant version, I might just have to snag it! Great video brother, however I stick with my wave/Gen 3 nba jam! 432 dollars is way better than the NBA Jam Shaq Edition and especially the NBA Jam Deluxe! Always stick with the classic....

Also the decks are basicly the same size.... no extra room with Shaq

I would love to add an NBA Jam to my collection, but it will have to be a sale. Its a fun game to play, it just doesn't hold as much nostalgia for me.

@@PDX7 I'm thinking about it. I've spent a good bit of money in the last two weeks. T2, new laptop for potential streaming. Other things. May need to reevaluate and catch my breath financially. Thinking of selling my KI w/stool and 40th Pac-Man w/stool for $250 a piece to fund it.
Prepare yourself for 200 range on used two player it’s difficult selling around here right now. When ALU 4k comes out I’ll sell my KI and am prepared to get 150 for it. Sell stools separately
