For example, I recently learned about putting one to all tcs (and that works for the starting one aswell) for the vill queue, and the usefullness of it to keep the vill production while you are attacking without changing the sight. And because of that I realized that Hera uses it that way (watch it when he starts attacking red, and adds some vills in the tc - up to the left - but you dont see the cam showing it, because of the method that i said)
That's the experience of a pro shining through. He's lost too many games before because he took his eyes off a palisade only for it to get the jump on his archers.

@@ringofasho7721 We did a tower rush. The dark age is pretty easy. In feudal age we actually divided controlling the army and shared eco. So each of use were attacking 2 players. The AI is bad at handling a tower rush.

I played age 2 as a kid, and only just discovered the tournaments on TH-cam.,I've watched a few and it they were all with a commentator viewing as a spectator.,this is the first time I've seen a video from a pro's perspective and I'm flat out keeping up...don't know how they do it, but I'm very impressed 😂
I played this game religiously when I was 5-6 years old. I just remembered it existed and it took me forever to even find out what it was called. I dont think I never found out about pvp/pve. Just had fun watching the little guys so wherever I clicked. Can't wait to start playing again
lol, I'm 800 ELO, but back in the early 2000's I 1v3ed my friends and destroyed them. My brother was super pissed because we spawned next to each other and he was the first person I destroyed. I was all about the mangudai rush, kill all villagers, retreat, then come back and destroy the base. After that they banned AoE II at LAN parties.

I'd like to see an analysis of games like this to determine how many clicks and troop movements are made that are entirely unnecessary. Like clicking 20 times on the town center to build a villager when they don't have enough food. Seems like they're making it a lot more chaotic than it needs to be.

Not even Hera can do it against 4 extreme AI. Humans and specially this type of elos, don't reach the level of intense destruction, build capacity and resistance AI has.

One thing i love about this kind of games is to witness and enjoy the battles. But being a pro looks more like clicking all over the map i could barely see anything even though i know it will work...

been watching aquafps play aoe2 and ive been really wanting to play but I have no real knowledge of the game so ive been watching different aoe2 videos you are by far the craziest player ive seen so far hard to even keep up with what you're doing

In the past, deleting a mangonel while its projectile is mid-air would increase its damage. After the effect was removed from the game, the behavior still persists as a "style meme", denying the opponent a kill while basically saying "here I am, I have the apm to delete this unit, in a previous patch I probably would have owned your archers, gg" ;)
On any island or fortress map, byzantine empire.. I used to do 1v7 Expert. No gamer but I did play this from it's creation to about 2007 when I stopped playing video games but this was the best.

thats incredible i play since the start of de 1v2 and 1v3 against 3 friends (rated 1.3-4 ish) winning the 1v2s like 20% of times (earlier i won more often) the 1on3 i only won 2 times yet (we play nomad meantime) 1v4 i would have any chance so i pull my hat hera good job
Is it common for people to play without having "Explored" selected, I think I did that literally one time and determined I was never going to play again where I legitimately had to scout with my horse and sheep.

On "casual" the game and also the timer are going 1.5 faster, on normal speed it going 1.7 times as fast (this is the standard setting for the game and played here) and if you choose "fast speed" the game and the timer are going 2.0 times faster
Before watching; the pro is faster so they can boom and field a large army while the beginners are still trying to balance farms and trees. Also; beginners are more likely to stay in the game until their last villager is killed.
Were there any rules like no scout/vil rush? Cause honestly wouldn't the four of them just be able to send their scouts to Hera's base and kill all his vils or guard his resources so vils couldn't get near him? Then it's just a waiting game until the four of you build up and attack as a group. The least they could have done was take out a few vils to set him back. Edit: This is all just theory as I'm new to the game. Awesome vid and I've been watching your channel trying to learn the game. Love the content. ✌
The skill difference is too wide for this to be effective anyway. Hera is very good at defending so he would have not lost any vils much, and he was first in Feudal. At this elo the four opponents would not be able to micro much, or at the expense of their eco to the extend that it would not have been worth it. I think there are several simple improvements that would make the game much harder for Hera. Like only one of them made skirmishers (and late) when Hera was full archers (skirms counter archers). Going men at arm late vs archers is another mistake (archer counter men at arms, and men at arms are only good as a rush). Walling earlier and going to military earlier would have helped too (at 4v1 they naturally have more eco/pop, they mainly need to avoid taking damage). And as you pointed out coordination was also missing.

A buddy and I beat 4 extreme AI on Arabia. We were controlling the same team. We called it a 1.5 v 4 victory.
You could also call it half a hera vs 4 😂

It's to keep your APM up so you don't lose focus.
It helps to keep the mind stimulated and keep you in the zone
APM is important for MOBA players as well as RTS players. Watching LS or pros play League is like watching them have a seizure xD

best strategy: 1 go for dark age aggression, 1 go for scouts, 1 go for archers, 1 go for FC Knights. No way Hera could win.
just guard his resources and you win by attrition. Red was wiped out without any of the other players trying to apply pressure.

Scouts are very weak in the dark age. A loomed villager can kill a dark age scout
