You DO NOT need a Christmas intervention! You will never look back and say, "I did too much Christmas.", especially while Miss Lucy is little. It's magic, and it must be spread! All the bows, all the time! ❤ Love your vlogs (and your sweet fam!) so much! Tfs.
Thank you for being so real when you were venting. My son had a stroke at 18 months old and I can completely relate. Its so hard dealing with people. It's so frustrating. And honestly, you end up having to do their job and telling them what to do anyway. I appreciate you sharing your/Lucys story, because even though our children are on a different journey, as a parent its nice to know you are not alone dealing with the craziness. I think the hardest part is that we have no control and that's so hard for us as parents.
@Swnierbe He had a gene mutation called DADA2. Since his stroke, he developed seizures which the neurologists can't seem to get managed. He is now almost 5 and he had his struggles, but he is still with us, which I couldn't ask anything for more. Thank you for asking about him😊
Hi Leighann! If you haven’t already definitely talk with your CPA about setting up Lucy as an employee (she can be considered talent on your channel) so you can set her up with her own Roth IRA. That money compounded over 30+ years will be so important for her 💞💞💞
I could just cry for you Leigh Ann! You are such a good mom and voice for Lucy! I feel like we’re just in your corner like you go girl! Love that you are posting more and the Christmas spirit! 🎄🤶🏻
My kids love nothing more than walking/driving around and looking at everyone’s decorations!!! Christmas and Halloween are sooooo much fun because of that!
I love seeing Lucy grow and develop. Thank you for sharing her with us. And that flamingo is incredible!! I know how you feel about dealing with insurance and people dropping the ball. You just keep being Lucy's voice and getting what she needs. And you can never have too much Christmas, especially with a child. Lucy is going to love Christmas just like her parents.
Ahhh!! Were in a friendly Christmas decor battle with our neighbors right now and we are going ALL OUT. Its rubbed off on the block and now everyone is decorating!! 😂Its been so so much fun!!! Brings me so much joy.
@leighannsays girl, I KNOW we would have an absolute blast!! Friends and family will be voting, even the kids, we've got a little trophy. I'm not kidding what so ever. 😂 Funnily enough, our husbands are the ones who have REALLY gotten into it and are just going all in. Just some simple joy in this crazy world we're living in right now. I am now a part-time Christmas decor/light hanger. 😅😂
My friends daughter danced the Sugar Plum Fairie last weekend in our local production of the Nutcracker. She was so beautiful. She did so great. When you are your childs advocate, make some noise. Lucy needs adaptive aides to be able to gain her independence! It has been such a privilege to watch Lucy grow up. See her getting big and following her successes .
LeighAnn, I can’t express to you how understood your commentary on insurance and healthcare made me feel. We’ve had a similar experience a few times now and it’s both heartbreaking and discouraging facing it on top of everything else you’re trying to manage. Thanks so much for the real take on the process of advocating for Lucy. It’s so hard and frustrating sometimes. Thank you thank you thank you. ❤
The way you feel about Christmas is the way I feel about Halloween. If it makes you happy and it doesn't hurt anybody then go for it. I love when kids get excited though and that is a special moment when you can put a big old smile on a little ones face.
There is no such thing as too much Christmas! My mom was really into holidays too. She would surprise us with gifts for Valentine’s Day waiting on our dressers when we woke up in the morning. She bought little things for our Christmas stockings all year and squirreled them away. She made decorations herself (usually sewn - a heart-shaped candy bowl, a fall wreath made of individually sewn leaves, etc.). She’d get so excited about decorating, baking, and all the other things that come with the holidays. We used to make crazy amounts of treats at Christmas and then made up trays of goodies to take to our friends and neighbors. Her excitement and joy in the holidays make up some of my best memories and my siblings and I now continue some of those traditions with our own families. ❤
Hearing how frustrating the process for getting Lucy's wheelchair, took me back to what we went thru to get mine. It took forever and I had to make repeat calls, I've wasted hours of my life on hold!! I hope that Lucy's has been submitted, there won't be anymore slow-downs and before you know it, they will be delivering it!! I LOVE all your Christmas decor, the bows were just what everything needed. Thank you for sharing a small part of your family with us.
We put up inflatables, and after seeing kids RUN into our yard to take photos with the pumpkin, I got a turkey, and then now we have inflatable penguins and we put some lighted arches over the sidewalk and it's been really fun to share it with the kids in the community. Our toddler LOVES it too. They have those inflatable ornaments at Five Below! It might be too late for this season but make sure you check in there next year! That's great that you found the pre-school for her! I think you should totally try it out. It's good for all of you to have that. Insurance is SUCH a total scam. You basically have to harass them into getting anything done. The equipment companies are all overloaded. The whole entire healthcare system is so messed up and so broken.
My kids LOVE Christmas lights! Everytime we pass them, they both yell "Christmasss!!!!!" Its been a huge highlight this season and a forever memory! Love your videos always, following so many years now! Sending love!
I went to see the nutcracker by the DC ballet for the first time last week! Same exact reaction I had no idea the set, the costumes, everything was so magical. It will now be a Christmas tradition.
I love how Mama Bear you are with the wheelchair situation. I am the same way with the therapies and strategies for my daughter who has autism. It's a long road, sometimes a very uphill battle but worth it! I've cried many a frustrated tear (or outright angry) over the years with getting my daughter what she needed... she's in her early twenties now and I feel good about being her voice all of these years! Fight the good fight, you and Grant are amazing parents!
I love your enthusiasm for everything; Christmas decorating, Grant and of course your sweet baby girl. You are the BEST Mom. She is lucky to have such an amazing advocate.
No one will advocate for your child like their mom. Keep doing it. Even if you frustrate the people you are calling, they still are in the customer service atmosphere, and you are the customer. Keep going!
You are very kind Leigh Ann. My son is 21 and on the spectrum. There will reach a point where people will fear you and you will LOVE it. You do whatever you need to and no one holds us back!
I've seen that you come to the Philly area sometimes for Lucy's medical stuff. if you ever come around Christmas time and you have the spare time, I highly recommend checking out if Longwood Gardens had tickets available for their Christmas lights display. it's within 1 hour from Philly and worth the drive. by this year's holiday season they'll have even more stuff since they're finishing up their expansion. 2023's theme was vintage/mid century and they had a little deer I spotted in one of the decor rooms that reminded me so much of you!
You need to go to Texas Roadhouse about 4:30-5:30 Monday-Thursday so you don’t have to wait that’s what we do as I don’t like to wait. Plus it’s easier with children.
For the lights on your white tree. Take a close look at the making of it. I asked a professional Christmas tree installer about this. I have a self lit white tree in my bedroom as well but the lights had all burnt out. I asked this professional if it was possible to cut out the string of white lights that were installed. He said yes. So I did so. It took about an hour but I was able to cut all of the lights out. I used wire cutters. Then I just purchased some pink and white string lights on white wire from Walmart and wrapped them on the tree. It looks amazing and saved me $300 which was what the replacement tree I was looking at from Crate and Barrel would have cost.
Btw, thanks so much for sharing the Cook Once cookbook with us!! We also get the Fed + Fit email. The weekly menus from the email are a complete lifesaver for us and now we’re eating at home more than we ever have before. If we don’t like the recipes in the email, we go to the cookbook and choose recipes from it. We love how easy it makes meal planning and how much money we save by eating at home rather than eating at restaurants. Seriously, thank you SO much for sharing this with us!!!
I just love seeing vlog notifications from you! Lucy is such a sweet girl. I just love her outfits, her smiles, ......well, she is just perfect! I wanted to give you a tip....I saved all of my son's artwork growing up. He is now an RN in his late 20's. Sadly over time, I forget what some of the artwork was from. If I had it to do over again, I would have dated and wrote 1st's, occasions, or reasons for the art work he did. Kind of like the stories you documented for your sister in the book of Sam. When you go thru them later in life or give them to her should she have her own family, there is context. Merry Christmas to all of you!!!
YES QWEEN! I love you mentioning the system failure though I’m sorry you have to go through it :( Lucy is amazing because of your advocacy! Hope mom is better 🫶🏻🖤
I love love loved this video. By far my favourite video from you probably since you've had Lucy. Even before you sat down to rant, I felt so much realness and authenticity from you and loved it! Not that you arent always real and authentic but there was definitely something different this time that was even better!
Oh Leighann! My heart goes out to you about the wheelchair thing. I had something similar happen although it was with my vehicle and car seat and after months of not receiving any updates I filed a complaint with my file number and the person helping me. I didn’t want to be that person. But I felt I had no choice! When I did the issue was fully resolved and I had been reimbursed within the week… so this person who was meant to help me spent 4 months without doing anything on my file and it was completed in 1 week. So frustrating. It might be something worth doing because this is important. Also I cried at the mom and the baby looking at lights, then at Lucy looking at lights, then at you saying you would carry Lucy. All the feels!
My clumsy moment, a few years back, I was washing my hair and had my eyes closed. I had some hair tangled in my fingers and I went to flick it off onto the wall (I was going to throw it out after) and I didn't realize how close to said wall I was until I jammed my fingers straight into it. When I tell you I saw stars, oh my gosh. Long story short I ended up having to wear a brace/soft cast for 6 weeks to not move it in case there was nerve damage, there was...very minor, I'm ok. I've had so many dopey little accidents I actually have a space in my closet dubbed hurty corner that has all my medical souvenirs, it's kind of funny. On a happier note, Lucy's flamingo is ADORABLE! So is your Christmas decor 🥰 and your sister's gift is so incredibly thoughtful
Sending your baby off to preschool is soooo hard. It is harder for the mom than the kid. It will be so good for her and also for you. Baby steps but little by little she will gain a little more independence. Celebrate the tiny wins and give yourself lots of grace. I was made a caregiver 3 years ago when my son was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. It turns your world upside down. It is great that you have awesome support and that you are finding purpose in being an advocate for Lucy and putting your heart into Lucy’s Light. ❤ oh my gosh, I forgot about the bow making party with your sister. I made four of them along with you two, I love them! Big hugs ❤ and have a lovely holiday.
Maybe for the book, cut out the photos from one book and paste them right side up over the upside down ones…could be part of the funny story of this gift🥰
Omg those lights you went to see! Just wow! I love how grant is so supportive of the Christmas decor! My husband is like that too. He knows how happy it makes me😊
I have 2 of those candle blow molds and a Santa blow mold that is old. very vintage. unfortunately they sit in my attic and never get used. we've had things stolen out of our yard and I don't want them stolen so they don't get used
As a person who uses a wheelchair I understand what you are going through when I got my last wheelchair I had issues with it and I couldn’t get a hold of anybody it was so annoying we decided to write a letter to the head of the company and told her all the issues and the person we were trying to get a hold of. Well you can bet we got a call after that cause I think they thought we were going to sue them. It happens all the time unfortunately with places like this
I feel, as parents, our job is to give our children everything they need to succeed…success is different for everyone and finances are certainly a block that can be frustrating. If you have been the polite and kind person, leaving kind voicemails, etc…you did the absolute right thing leaving a voicemail with their supervisor. It would have taken her only a few moments to dash off an email to let you know she hadn’t forgotten about you and she would call with more information later. My father in law now needs a wheelchair and it’s been months waiting for all the parts from all the different places to arrive. He has a half built wheelchair in his room right now and it just sits there waiting on goodness knows what. If we didn’t depend on overseas materials so much, we could probably avoid a lot of the wait times🤷🏼♀️. And kid Christmas is absolutely the BEST Christmas!!! 🤶🎅🏻🎄
You can use the tulle for bows on Christmas presents 🎁. Either tie a bow like you normally would or cut the loops trim them to the same size and it’s a little puff ball!
I totally understand the frustration with insurance and the companies. I have been trying to get a portable concentrator (I'm on oxygen) for well over a year and everything that could go wrong to postpone it has. It's finally ordered but said it could take up to 3 weeks to ship and the last I checked it still hasn't shipped. Hopefully Lucy will get her wheelchair soon. ❤️
Leighann 🥹 so awesome Lucy making the flamingo I remember when my son would bring me his projects, I kept so many of his daycare/school memories in a plastic file so one day he can have or to show him. It’s so precious. It would do her good to have other children interaction, but you are the mom and you know when she is ready. Yah for the wheelchair, Lucy will be zooming. You go girl, you are advocate for your child, as moms we have sometime get people tactfully to listen because if we don’t who will. I need to go to Snoopy lane….love love love ❤️ it.
I love that podcast "This is Important" it's SO ridiculous, and funny. My boyfriend introduced me to it, and all I can say is ya missed out Leighann! But I hope you have a great Christmas!
I love this time of year and you are so exited for Santa he must love your trees and to get up in the morning can make the best mom for lucy she was meant to be💕💕🎈❤️❤️🍓🍓❤️❤️
Although we don't have a child with special needs, I can say that pre-school did so much for our son. I think any child in an independent atmosphere blossoms and learns so much from other children and themselves in a new environment.
Ugh so sorry that you’re going through such a crappy time getting miss Lucy Bug her wheel chair. You’re such a good mama though and a great advocate for her! I’ve been watching you since pretty dirty princess bun and your videos always make my day! It’s been such a joy seeing your journey. You are so real and I just love the wholesome content! ❤
Walmart had the tree topper still for $17!! I just got one! Also the “hang on Santa” is OOS - but I googled and found the same one from Walmart in stock!
I truly think basically any organization (insurance, medical suppliers, whoever) who deal with disability related work are just built to make it 10000x more difficult for people who already have limited bandwidth for nonsense. Also, Lucy’s expression in Joann was dangerously reminiscent of mine during a huge sale where all I remember is hearing a voice saying “how much is left on the bolt? I’ll take it,” repeatedly. Turns out,it was my voice. Teaching her well, mama! 😂
i too am obsessed with the vintage blow molds, and wish the stores sold bigger ones!! i could only find the little guys :( i ended up with 2 nut crackers and a santa
Leighann I can definitely relate to all the health insurance complications….. situations have worsened while waiting on health insurance and it has been very frustrating and scary…. We pray Gods hands over you and Lucy to move things along quickly so she gets exactly what she needs as soon as possible ❤🙏❤️ God can do the impossible!
I love what you did with the bows in the kitchen ❤ just beautiful and what an imagination you have to come up with the ideas you do 😊 ! Lucy is so cute and pretty ! She's so lucky to have you and Grant as her parents ❤. I've been watching your videos for awhile now and I really enjoy watching the 3 of you 😊 ! God Bless you and your family 🎅🤶🦌☃️🌲⭐🎁🌰❄️
You DO NOT need a Christmas intervention! You will never look back and say, "I did too much Christmas.", especially while Miss Lucy is little. It's magic, and it must be spread! All the bows, all the time! ❤
Love your vlogs (and your sweet fam!) so much! Tfs.
There aren’t many TH-cam videos that I will like before it starts, but I will on every single Leighann video. 👏🏻
🙌🏻 thank you so much!!
I‘m so sorry, do you know what caused the stroke?
@Swnierbe He had a gene mutation called DADA2. Since his stroke, he developed seizures which the neurologists can't seem to get managed. He is now almost 5 and he had his struggles, but he is still with us, which I couldn't ask anything for more. Thank you for asking about him😊
I LOVE the merry Christmas light up sign! Where did you find it?
Hi Leighann! If you haven’t already definitely talk with your CPA about setting up Lucy as an employee (she can be considered talent on your channel) so you can set her up with her own Roth IRA. That money compounded over 30+ years will be so important for her 💞💞💞
That is a very nice idea for her.
When Grant said, "There's some bows in this house." 🤣💀
😅
I had to rewind and listen again 😂😂
I could just cry for you Leigh Ann! You are such a good mom and voice for Lucy!
I feel like we’re just in your corner like you go girl!
Love that you are posting more and the Christmas spirit! 🎄🤶🏻
I love that yall are in our corner!! i appreciate it so much 💙
My kids love nothing more than walking/driving around and looking at everyone’s decorations!!! Christmas and Halloween are sooooo much fun because of that!

Ahhh!! Were in a friendly Christmas decor battle with our neighbors right now and we are going ALL OUT. Its rubbed off on the block and now everyone is decorating!! 😂Its been so so much fun!!! Brings me so much joy.
ok I need to move onto your street! I would love for my neighborhood to get crazy into it.
See her getting big and following her successes .
thats so awesome! the talent it takes to put on the Nutcracker is wild!
girl the “order me PIZZA from dominos with one lava cake” took me back that’s like a top tier video. wishing you the best!
The way you feel about Christmas is the way I feel about Halloween. If it makes you happy and it doesn't hurt anybody then go for it. I love when kids get excited though and that is a special moment when you can put a big old smile on a little ones face.

I hope so!! I want to make it a super special time for her 🥰
That photo book gift is seriously the most thoughtful and special gift ever 🥰🥰 even if they are upside down!
Loving that you’re posting often! Love you guys! ♥️🌲💫🥰
so happy you guys are watching!! its so much fun to vlog esp during christmas!
The tulle is probably thin enough to wrap horizontal around the cabinet doors. or you could use it to do bows for the door handles.
Omgoodness I can’t take how precious Lucy is. ❤
honestly me either :)
I went to see the nutcracker by the DC ballet for the first time last week! Same exact reaction I had no idea the set, the costumes, everything was so magical. It will now be a Christmas tradition.
Those lights were amazing! Your enthusiasm for Christmas is contagious!

Your dedication to Christmas decor is impressive. It is all adorable….been the “white tree”.
Even when it’s not Christmas you know you’ve done a good job with the decorations that go up there great work with the lighting ❤️🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹💖💖
Yes!! I get what I call the dropsies right before my cycle starts!! I feel you!! Hope your finger is ok!! 💜 Love seeing your family!!
You are out of control! I love it. Lucy is so lucky to have you and Grant. Love your decorations

you’re so right! there are always people waiting outside by the time we get there after 5 😅
Im a 34 year old wheelchair user and I totally feel you on the frustration! I got fitted back in July and am just now getting the chair.

Blow molds forever. Why are they so hard to find?? Thank you for the Lowes tip!! ❤️ Love the cabinet bows - so perfect!!
totally agree!! I look for them every year.

Love your family ❤ Always rooting for Lucy! 💗…I have a small little request, can we see Luna a little more. Miss that little nugget 🤗
Yes! Definitely more clumsy at certain times in my cycle, too!
YES QWEEN! I love you mentioning the system failure though I’m sorry you have to go through it :( Lucy is amazing because of your advocacy! Hope mom is better 🫶🏻🖤

Love your decorations🎄 and your vlogs so much. Your family is adorable especially Miss Lucy🥰Merry Christmas 🎅🏻 to you and yours❤
It was very nice seeing all the displays of lights u all showed on the video and can't wait to see how your bulb wreath turns out..
Omg those lights you went to see! Just wow! I love how grant is so supportive of the Christmas decor! My husband is like that too. He knows how happy it makes me😊

I was wondering where your speckled garage floor went!! I forgot you moved.
My Dad always used to say a squeaky wheel is the one that gets the grease so never apologize for doing what you need to for Lucy!
As a disabled person myself it's very frustrating my insurance only aproved a rental and wont pay for a wheelchair.
"There's some bows in this house". Underrated Grant comment. 😂
very! i loved it personally 🥰
I love that you’ve heard the voice message from that little boy wanting pizza!! So cute!!
I love blow molds but they are hard to come by! I also just love every aspect of Christmas and the decorations! Vintage Christmas is classic!
Lights are pretty impressive 🇨🇦😻 my goodness!
Poof it went up like happy potter when he goes home and they fill his step mom full of helium and she floats away lol ❤️❣️💖💖🩷💘
I use the tulle like that around my gifts!
I love that podcast "This is Important" it's SO ridiculous, and funny. My boyfriend introduced me to it, and all I can say is ya missed out Leighann! But I hope you have a great Christmas!
I love this time of year and you are so exited for Santa he must love your trees and to get up in the morning can make the best mom for lucy she was meant to be💕💕🎈❤️❤️🍓🍓❤️❤️
grant only has a few lines each vlog but never fails to make me laugh! love your exchange about the lack of urologists in hallmark movies xD
the ornament is so cute! I love all things that make me think of Hawaii.
You should make Lucy a Valentine’s Day tutu with that red tulle!!!
Please tell me that you bought that wall hanging of the Evelyn deer!!!!!!!! TFS and take care.......
Although we don't have a child with special needs, I can say that pre-school did so much for our son. I think any child in an independent atmosphere blossoms and learns so much from other children and themselves in a new environment.
Lucy's flamingo is truly adorable, she has artistic talent and I'm sure endless more talents! Go, Lucy, Go!!! :)
I love all the x mas enthusiasm girl don’t stop🤣 we are all obsessed! 🤣❤️🎄
I literally can’t stop 😂🤪
Ugh so sorry that you’re going through such a crappy time getting miss Lucy Bug her wheel chair. You’re such a good mama though and a great advocate for her! I’ve been watching you since pretty dirty princess bun and your videos always make my day! It’s been such a joy seeing your journey. You are so real and I just love the wholesome content! ❤
Lucy is a Christmas doll!! 🎅🏻🫶🏻
The ribbons in the kitchen and on the lights 🤩🤩 LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!
Adore you and your family and your sweet Lucy! You are an inspiration coming from a mom of 2 boys that are 7 and 9. You are doing an amazing job. ❤️❤️
I know a few kids in different programs like this..and it has made such a big difference for them !! So great
Gosh Lucy looks like both of you! Adorable!
Walmart had the tree topper still for $17!! I just got one!
Also the “hang on Santa” is OOS - but I googled and found the same one from Walmart in stock!
All of the tops you’re wearing are so cute! Can you please link some of them?
Lucy is going to grow up to be a Christmas enthusiast just like her mom 😍
I truly think basically any organization (insurance, medical suppliers, whoever) who deal with disability related work are just built to make it 10000x more difficult for people who already have limited bandwidth for nonsense.
Also, Lucy’s expression in Joann was dangerously reminiscent of mine during a huge sale where all I remember is hearing a voice saying “how much is left on the bolt? I’ll take it,” repeatedly. Turns out,it was my voice. Teaching her well, mama! 😂
Sorry if I missed something, but would love some Luna Bean content :)
i too am obsessed with the vintage blow molds, and wish the stores sold bigger ones!! i could only find the little guys :( i ended up with 2 nut crackers and a santa
Leighann I can definitely relate to all the health insurance complications….. situations have worsened while waiting on
health insurance and it has been very frustrating and scary…. We pray Gods hands over you and Lucy to move things along quickly so she gets exactly what she needs as soon as possible ❤🙏❤️ God can do the impossible!
So happy to have your vlogs back in my life. They are so well done! I need more Luna Bean footage tho! ❤
Happy weekend, Leigh Ann!
Girlllll that intro has me INVESTED.
“We’ve made an impact on the community y’all!” 😂❤
I hope your mom ,feels better...there is a bug going around that lasts for three days ..may everything be ok with her..🌸
