    Nathan, I know I'm not the only one who would love to see some of your dads wood working projects. With a saw mill, planer and a kilm. He has to build some wonderful things. Maybe you can get dad to show us some of his past builds maybe even stuff he has going on now. We all know he's into building things.

    I worked for napa for 10 years and helped the family farm on the side and deere's filter sale was always as good as the napa filter sale

    Nice to see someone else put OEM filters on too. They're worth it in the long run in my opinion.

    Once your tractors are out warranty you could take oil samples and only change oil when the lab says to do so.

      @anstromwally6708 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to understand everything on oil samples then, to know when oil is getting bad, semi’s sampled people look for bearings & antifreeze for issues. Looking at oil quality would help, maybe oil used is not holding up causing other issues, that’s a good idea.

    What I have been told about rebuilding a valve with O rings. If the O ring is damage replacing it should work but if the valve body has some kind of damage the O ring is just a short fix.

    I always use the original filters depending on the piece of equipment that I am working on. Example, my Kubota tractor gets only Kubota filters period. There has been to many horror stories on using filters that are not OEM. I don’t trust off brand filters of any kind. I drive to the dealer and get what I need. If something happens I’m covered.
    Take care and stay safe 😀

      Its a kubota...you could buy 10 kubotas for the price of 1 real tractor. Scrap.

    I know you have access to a digital weather station - does it measure the atmospheric humidity at all?
    I ask because the weather here has been cold (-5C to -15C) with a brisk East or North East wind (from the North Sea and Scandinavia or even Russia. It has been really miserable because of high humidity and real cold and as a result we would describe conditions as being very raw. Goodness knows what the wind chill figures have been!
    I imagine that cold temps such you have had will freeze at least some of the moisture out of the air and produce some spectacular hoar frosts on everything.

    Sorry Nathan, no temperature sympathy from us here in Foxfield Colorado - three nights in a row overnight temp was minus 7° or less.
    My Dodge-Cummins & John Deere were in an insulated building. Mighty Dodge fired right up but the JD refused to start

    We were spending 5k on John Deere filters, we got it down to 3500 by going with Wix filters. I feel it was worth it. Oil samples are coming back the same as with JD filters. So dont feel we gave up anything, but over priced JD filters.

    Pretty much the exact same way as changing the barrels on a Massey Ferguson 8600 series (and other series as well, I’m sure). The Massey uses a snap ring, that requires snap ring pliers, though.
    I think it’s a requirement to use a socket to drive them in all the way. Anything else just wouldn’t do the job! :-)

    You should price filters out on Green parts. Com and make sure your dealer is giving you a good price!
