I mean, I've had been the sole provider for nearly two years while my husband was going in and out of surgeries. There were small moments wmim between where he could have worked briefly, and even now that he's officially back to work I have never encouraged him to just settle.
It depends. She was offered a bad movie where she was in just for her body, the script literally says she wrestle a bixesual orangutan while wearing a bikini. If she doesn't want to to these kind of work, it's her choice. If it had been a background character or something I would have taken Leonard side, but on that one I'm with Penny.
That is his fault for picking penny as a partner

Funny how no one pointed out how Howard would relentlessly put down Raj. Yes, there were friendly banter among the group, but Howard's barbs went beyond that.
I know its was just a sitcom, but that level of barbs didn't seem right to me...

Leonard, Amy tried to bail you out TWICE! She realized you where making a mistake and wanting to leave was your cue that it was a much needed COUPLES conversation.

Ok. Maybe not in front of everyone, but Penny was wrong for this. Leonard isn't her father yet pays for HER whole life so that she can live her dream. A role finally comes, she just turns it down flatly. He probably just felt a little sucker-punched.
It's HER life. If Leonard had a problem he could have communicated it like an adult. Instead he chose to humiliate and belittle her in front of their friends. Penny wasn't wrong, she made a career choice that would impact her for the rest of her life. Because she turned down that role, she made even more money than him. This scene made Leonard out to look like the bad guy when in reality he is not only right but 1000% has the right to call her out after years of her leaching off him and Sheldon. His only fault was talking about it in front of others, but with that group they always told each other everything anyway so
Leonerd was right, she made horrible life choices at every turn, all while exploiting her looks in leeching from the nerds.
All through the show, she left or pulled a tantrum whenever that truth was discussed.

Wow I haven’t seen this entire show but this literally the only time I’ve ever seen Howard’s wife stand up for him. They treat him like complete trash. Even she does sometimes.

Well, Howard was a complete creep until Bernadette came along and made him a bareable character. And even then he's still mean to Raj to the point where Raj has to break up their friendship to show how toxic it was. So I don't really mind when Sheldon is rude to Howard.
Bernadette stands up for him all the time. She keyed Amy's car over him.
There are several occasions where she stands up for him.
Bernadette is the real deal. Sweet and pleasing as long as possible but fearless and ready to maul anybody who goes against her loved ones. Or Howard himself, when he is a moron again.
I mean for a long time he was trash, so probably hard for them to get out of the habit once he became a better person.

She literally just got it through luck, and connections. She proved to be an awesome saleswoman later, but that doesn’t negate the fact that in this moment, she essentially turned down a chance to pursue her dream, in exchange for unemployment.

They are toxic for eachother, but Penny fully support Leonard in his job even though she doesn't understand it. She's willing to help him get promotion and support all of his career choices. She never got in the middle of it or try to stop him even though it bothers her or she doesn't like it. Leonard on the other hand doesn't support her career and her dream at all. He always tells her to give up acting, she has no chances to make it in the industry and that she's making a huge mistakes. He's never gentle about it too, he always says it like a dick. He push her into a career she hates, but she stick with it because she knows it's the right thing to do. He never handles these situations well at all. The only support he gives was when she needed a car to drive to auditions because hers broke down. She never asked for it mind you. He bought it for her because he felt bad because she was mad at him for not supporting her like Sheldon was.

There was recently a reddit post by a woman's boyfriend in which he said that she was in some scenes in little finger's brothel in game of thrones season 1 and his friend recognized her and his entire friend group started shaming her and mocking him.
In a perfect world where men behaved like humans instead of as$holes, then yeah she should've done it without second thought but until then it's totally up to her to decline such roles
