  • Summary
In this episode of the Harder Not Smarter Podcast, we sit down with Chase Hughes, a former Naval Intelligence veteran and all-around behavior expert. After retiring from the US military in 2019, Chase didn't slow down; he pivoted to teaching interrogation, sales, influence, and persuasion. He's the brain behind the 6MX system, now the gold standard in intelligence tradecraft, and the author of the bestselling book on behavior profiling, persuasion, and influence, *The Ellipsis Manual*. Oh, and he's also the only consultant in the world who offers a 300% money-back guarantee - talk about confidence!
Chase shares his fascinating journey from identifying the training gaps in the military to becoming a successful entrepreneur. He dives into the nitty-gritty of mindset and psychology, dropping gems on how these elements are crucial for success. He’s big on the value of mentors and accountability partners, and he has some great advice on recognizing your worth and grabbing opportunities when they come your way.
Throughout our chat, Chase provides deep insights into building a brand, beating imposter syndrome, and developing empathy and emotional intelligence. We also talk about the importance of building a strong team and knowing when to delegate. Chase stresses hiring business-savvy people - a tip every leader should take to heart.
And if you’re curious about his future plans, Chase spills the beans on creating more content and rekindling his passion projects. He talks about his upcoming fictional TV series, "Phrase 7", and his exciting collaboration with Dr. Phil on "The Behavior Panel".
    Enjoy the show!

“…I want to appeal [financially] to the country club people, not some guy in an apartment”. . Without immediately judging Chase the same way he wouldn’t automatically judge other people, this says more about him than I think he realizes . It’s quite the profiling. Wow, no longer who I thought he is.

I think you need to take a look at andyinternal biases you may have and listen again carefully because you've completely misrepresented what he actually said. You could have at least provided a direct quote of what he said rather than the poorly interpreted and out of context mix and match you've tried to pass off as his.
What he actually said is, "What's the difference between what somebody living in a apartment complex would want to see versus somebody that's like At a country club and I always like I'm trying to look at it from those two different angles and always want to Market to people that want the higher end stuff."
None of his books or manuals come with the option of having your name and a personal message on the cover encrusted with 10ct diamonds only affordable by rich elitists who spend their days at the country club mocking the apartment dwelling lower class.
The point he was trying to make is that whether someone prefers an urban, inner city fast paced lifestyle, or someone who prefers lazing by the pool or golfing at a country club or whatever lifestyle choices people may have, within each of those groups there are people who want the "higher end stuff" as he says. For example, regardless of where people live and any other interests they have, some people would rather learn some basics from "How to win friends and influence people" by Dale Carnegie and others who would want "The Ellipsis Manual" because there's nothing more comprehensive (higher end) available on the topics.
You jumped into your own series of judgements without even understanding what it is you're judging, or why. When we are so quick to judge something, more often than not it's ourselves that end up losing!

The new interview with Chase Hughes called, Something is Seriously Wrong, recently released, would be a good interview for the commenter to watch, based on your insights.
