The CR sounds like it's dialed in.

I have a 2003 CR 125, SRS engine kit, Messico pipe and muffler, Boyesen rad valve, etc. Still a quite nice bike to ride.

I was rooting for the CR, but that SSS suspension is incredibe, The CR sounds like it's dailed in, 96 was a great year for the CR. I SMASHED the subscribe puttin!!

Thanks bud. Put a vforce in and went richer in main and leaner on pilot , and she’s singing now!

What's suspension are you using on the 96 CR? I had a 97 CR125 that I absolutely loved but the suspension was crap. I now have a 94 CR125 with pro circuit works kit suspension on it and it is the bike of my dreams. The Yamaha suspension is really hard to beat.

The Honda looked smoother and more flowing but the Yamaha just grunted more out the corners and straight on the power, great skill to use both to there advantages 👍

The 2022 YZ will have better overall jetting with the Keihin PWK38S carb, which is the lighter bike?

I'm looking forward to you getting your new parts, have you tried gearing it down a tooth or 2?

Neville, please do yourself a favor and look up Nino Fenarolli honda cr125 hpp tuning a guy from switzerland tunes old hpp engines, you will see how much potential hpp engines have, please look it up!

The Honda sounded a lot more crisp than the Yamaha. I'm very surprised

@@nevsta272 Would be cool to see the difference between 1. upgrading everything but keeping the engine the same (best suspension, brakes, bars, clamps, pegs etc..)
and 2. upgrading engine only. (new 2023/2024 125cc engine) but keeping everything else original.
      What would be quicker?

@@Sn0w1981 honda cr125 1990-1999 have huge potential for tuning, hpp engines can be tuned to be on par with yamaha engines but can't be tuned to par with ktm engines, hpp cylinders were designed only for mid to top end power they lack low end, pairing 1998 cranckcases with 1992 hpp cylinder(highest exh port) a domed head and quality mid top pipe with 38mm carb and retarded powervalve governor you have yourself a rocket but only top end power sadly!

@@ankrapek12 Sounds hard to ride! But probably awesome if you can pull it off. And tuning 125s should be extreme like that anyway :)
Nowadays I've gone the opposite direction. KTM 300, heavy flywheel, stock pipe with spacer, V-force reeds and low gearing, for all the bottom end. I really want a 380, or a 500 lol

Looked like the yz was good all around the power band in comparison the cr had more power on the top end of the power band. Both nice bikes though

      @@nevsta272 yea i got me a 92 and 93 RM125. I like the 92 better , but also the gearing i run a 12t front with a 52t rear sprocket. Brought the bottom end up a bit

I am a Honda fan. My last year racing and last new bike was 1993 (CR125). I imagine pretty similar to this one. The Honda appears to be quicker and looks like it turns better. Your YZ looked like it was dragging something behind it, idk. Honestly, I was shocked the Honda was slower, but you rode both, so why do you think your time was better on the YZ? Partially line choice?

Need to quit doodling with the throttle. On a 125 it is either WFO or off. Off comes as deep in the corner as you handle.
