Descript: bit.ly/DescriptJM SubMachine (App for Premiere Pro): bit.ly/SubMachineJM People would ask me almost every video about how I created my subtitles so I wanted make a tutorial showing exactly how I do it, hope it helps!
Dude, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! I've been doing the Karaoke style MANUALLY for weeks. Doing that on a 30 second clip took me a whole hour. This was exactly what I was looking for. Also for those who don't use Premiere Pro, this also works in Davinci Resolve. You just have to do a slight bit of tweaking when you key out the background.
I’m glad you’re covering this and not just Submachine, because I still use Vegas Pro and it’s nice finding programs that work regardless of what editing suite I use. Thank you!
Thanks, JM. This is useful as I have tried this process before but failed on how to use it. Now, I can make use of this tutorial as simple as nothingness. However, many are referring to Capcut and Submachine software for fancy or appealing transcription too, I think and would like to suggest to you that you do a tutorial on them for us too. We shouldn't be limited as video editors. Once again, thanks for all you do, JM. You are the best to us always and forever.
man i have a headache from trying to do it manually, and then i had the idea to see if there was an automated way to do it, Thank you for this video, you've give me my sanity back and that's at least worth subscribing for.

Thank you so much for this video, I have spent hours trying to find an easier way to do karaoke style until I found your video. Not only that, but this method will save me A TON of time during editing instead of doing karaoke manually. 🙏
Past 1 year I doing this, for my client, Word by Word Subtitle Animations , but I use mask video layer in premiere pro, because of descript water mark , Now I learned New Idea from you bro, Thank you So Much for this Video😘
Thank you- does anyone know why the color is not the same or synching up in Premiere Pro? I followed every step, and wanted my words to highlight yellow, but when I bring it into Premiere, it is Green??
Sorry, this is unrelated to the video, but what mouse do you recommend using for video editing? I’ve been using the Apple Magic Mouse since I started editing a couple years ago, and now my hand and wrist hurt quite a bit. It’s hard to find something ergonomic that is also precise and reliable and has side scrolling.
Magic Mouse gave me wrist pain from the get go, I don’t like using those. I use the Logitech M3 mouse, and have custom settings for the side scroll buttons to help minimize movement.
@@JavierMercedes Thanks a lot for the reply! I was looking at that one and wasn't sure, but I trust your recommendation, so I think I'll go for it! Should've gotten a new mouse a long time ago. By the way, just bought your transition presets pack, and am loving it.
Thanks for doing this video, very helpful. A quick tip for everyone to make sure you use a background for your captions under 'style'. Otherwise, ultrakey in Premiere pro does a poor job in removing the background, particularly around the edges of each letter.
This is exacly what i've been looking for, but i have small problem. When i insert video in premiere, raw video is bit longer than descript video, and then captions are faster than raw. No matter what i do, i cant synhronise. Please help
make sure that the frame rate you are exporting at is the same as your sequence in premiere pro. Also check to see that the sequence in and out are the exact same..
Seems pretty cool but is there really no way to export it with alpha transparency intact so you don't have to do all the red rectangle ultra key nonsense? That stuff isn't hard but it really shouldn't be necessary.
right!?! seems like a big oversight if that's the case? also, @javiermercedes, do you know if these customizations (of fonts/colors/styles/etc) can be saved so you don't have to make them each time you create captions?
For sure, I also think Submachine allows for higher customization in animations within Premiere Pro. Descript is a little more broad with the options, but the ones they have work well and fast for my needs.
After exporting the subtitles from Descript in DAVINCI RESOLVE, and then apply delta keyer, I get fringes all over my subtitles...I use Descript the free version at the moment.
Just to make clear, the app is not free. Only 1 export every month without a watermark is offered, the rest is subscription based. But for someone who needs this as a tool, it's worth the money!
The idea of taking my whole video into an editor and making these sort of captions was really exciting until you mentioned that it degrades your video image. Thanks for that reminder, will do it this way!!
DaVinci or final cut pro will get this before premiere and even if premier does get this it will stay in beta versions for like 2 or 3 years and always say something like "render error 😂

Can you do everything on Descript instead of using Adobe Premiere Pro?
If I have a script in text already can I put my text to convert it into caption synchronised with audio? Please reply with the method

Thank you for your good teaching this Persian language software also supports؟
I’m not sure what all languages Descript supports
Awesome!! I was about to cancel my Descript account. I guess I’ll keep it. Thanks for this!
Hi.
How to transfer and customize subtitles in canva pro?

is this compatible in after effects?
is there any free plugin to make this fill background captions?
Thanks for doing this video, very helpful.
A quick tip for everyone to make sure you use a background for your captions under 'style'. Otherwise, ultrakey in Premiere pro does a poor job in removing the background, particularly around the edges of each letter.
if i have a subtitle text and no audio how am I supposed to make a caption?
without transcribing
Can i write captions every language
Can you import a transcript instead of having Descript create it?

Don't think you need to solo the track before exporting since it's the only track.
Yup, in this case yes, but I was just doing that to showcase what I do if there were also sound effects and music too.
no need to solo, just export to mp3 or wav and you will get audio only
Thank you! Just what I was looking for! Can't wait to try it myself!
How to put 2 line in the one scene ?? When i push enter It create new scene!!!
Seems pretty cool but is there really no way to export it with alpha transparency intact so you don't have to do all the red rectangle ultra key nonsense? That stuff isn't hard but it really shouldn't be necessary.

Holy crap Gabriel this is Gold! you the man!!

Dude... you are awesome! Love this channel!
Submachine is a bit wonky but it can be done. The advantage is being able to do it all in one spot.
For sure, I also think Submachine allows for higher customization in animations within Premiere Pro. Descript is a little more broad with the options, but the ones they have work well and fast for my needs.
Adding those tools to Premiere was always the aim of SubMachine. What do you find wonky? I’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback.
Excellent tutorial! Thanks 🙂
Thank you so much Javier!

Great tutorial. Thanks.
Can this be done in the free version of Descript?
I believe so!
You are a genius! 👌🏽
THis is helpful, everyone is using submachine but I wont want to pay for yet another thing so descript is a nice option
I open my YT & this🥳 #1 fan
Thank you for the Tutorial 💪💪

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
You need to specify what you can get in the free vs the paid version

How much does it cost?
They have a free version I think
Thank you!
can't stand submachine, f****ing $150 for one word caption editing is insane.
Guarnatee it will be a built in feature in a year or two
great

Capcut. I resisted but now I use it for so many things.
I’ll have to try that one out too! Didn’t know about it.
great brother it helped me lot best and simplest video but the bad thing was that it is paid software 😣
wow i actualle wanted to code something simmilar

I wonder when premiere is going to include this in an east way and stay competitive….
DaVinci or final cut pro will get this before premiere and even if premier does get this it will stay in
beta versions for like 2 or 3 years and always say something like "render error 😂
Honestly, for what we pay for Adobe, subscription, creative cloud this should be implemented into Premiere Pro automatically.
I’m not disagreeing with you, but as it stands right now this isn’t an option. (Besides using plugins like sub machine)
