Wish you could have seen more. So much more if you actually ask locals around. Everyone’s friendly and it’s way better than the cabs. No reason to use a cab for a tourist ride.
Thank you for sharing your adventures. At the farthest point. Top of the world. Being able and doing what you're doing with your family is fantastic and thank you for sharing. I've been wanting to go up to Barrow Alaska. I know there's not a lot to do there but it's the point of enjoying another culture is seeing another part of the world. Anyways I traveled halfway run the world I'm not living in Arizona at the Grand Canyon. But I am going to go to Barrel Alaska one day again thank you for sharing God bless stay safe. Enjoy it! We love the West Rim and you will undoubtedly love Barrow. Such a cool place and the people are so welcome. Their culture is preserved and is great to learn!
I was amazed I can het a flight there from New Mexico for less that $900! I'm headed to Churchill, Manitoba next month to see the polar bears but Barrow might be my next stop!
I'll be heading to Barrow in June and plan on also staying at Top of The World Hotel, but for two nights. I noticed the hotel offers tours. Is it cheaper to get a tour through Sid or through the hotel? I also hear that the only way to get to Point Barrow is from a native since it's protective land
It is native land but we encountered no restrictions. The people there are VERY welcoming. We tried to use the numbers the hotel gave us and some said no because they were busy. Sid was great and low cost. Have fun!
@@justinhughes2543 I thought the festival was after the solstice, which is on the 21st. But that would make it the 4th weekend in June. So I'm curious about that.
@@anitad.4223 Minor change of plans. Flying into Anchorage on Jun 10. Drive up to Fairbanks June 13 and back down to Anchorage on the 16th to fly up to Barrow 16-18. In Fairbanks I’m trying to find a tour that will drive up to the Arctic circle. Any suggestions to see and do in either Anchorage, Fairbanks or Barrow?
I live there and if you seen the native side of it you’d love it even more.
Are there locals that will show visitors the native side?

We are safe!! Thank you for checking in on us Debbie Shaw!
So much more for a ride. No need for a cab lol. Cabs are literally the most expensive

Hi Justin,
Are you going to Barrow for the whaling festival?
@@anitad.4223 I’ll be there June 17-19

I live there and there is no risk of polar bears. We see maybe 20 PER YEAR. We’d rather scare off the bears and not do anything to them.
Ask local people on VHF or rent a truck or car next time coming back it's awesome town once you get to know locals
Pls come back and fine a local experience
Just curious what month was this filmed?
Sure! August of 2021. Thanks for watching

That’s not the arctic experience if you asked a thailander for directions.
Apparently Sid has lived there a very long time!
Pls next time find a local that will take you around. Instead of a thailander
Cant watch it with masks...
The mask goes over your nose and mouth, not your eyes. Silly @nightcruiser6331
