Please excuse the audio issues. For some reason the audio volume drops after the beginning of the video. Sorry about that. Not quite sure what happened there ☹️
No one paints winter scenes like John Pike. He's one of my favorites as well. I also like Wilmot Emerton Heitland. An ash can illustrator by trade Heitland painted many limited color illustrations for the top magazines of his day. But you know what impresses me the most about these old timers? Their draftsmanship. They could draw their asses off. Their anatomy was impressive and they knew the names of all the body parts too. Wish I could've gone to the Academy of fine art in Phila instead of a school for graphic arts.

I'm always amazed at how well they can draw. Definitely something I need to work on in my own art. 😂
I love being introduced to artists who are new to me. I didn't even know this was a series so I'll have to go watch parts 1 and 2.
Yes, please post more of these. It's always good to learn about artists and be inspired... and don't forget about posting about tutorials too 😊
More tutorials will be coming soon 😊
Hey Jay, excited to see this, but fyi the audio is fine at the beginning then drops really low
Thanks for letting me know. Not sure what happened there. Very strange 🤔
@@JayNathanWatercolor Ghosts in the machines 🙂
Haha! I wish it was but the blame almost certainly lies with the dummy operating the machine 🤣
I find the sea intimidating to paint. I think its much easier to just paint it from an image.
Not first!
