I recommend taking a look at Louise De Masi - an Australian lady that paints wonderful birdlife and flowers, she has a cute little blooper section at the end of each video :)
In addition to the wonderful ones you mentioned, Angela Fehr Watercolor, Canadian artist with a lovely loose style, thank you for all the great informative videos you share!
AWE thanks so much for the Mention- I too love all the channels you mentioned as well as YOURS!! I wish you and your family a wonderful New Years and a happy and healthy 2023!!!
Aw, bless you Jenna. Thank you so much - it's a privilege to be mentioned in such impressive company. You're a wonderful ambassador for watercolour.....thanks for all you do, and have a very prosperous 2023.
I was super excited to excited to hear your name first. Congratulations 💙 My favorite art therapy/art teacher ever. Less than a month for the first BOX SET!
Hi Jenna! Just wanted to thank you 🙏 for the wonderful mention on this video! We’re so thrilled to make your list - we have so much great content planned for 2023 - looking forward to reaching many more new friends thanks to your community spirit! All the best for 2023 and thanks again!!
I broke out the watercolors after years of only doing oil painting after watching a video of you and your equally lovely sister painting together en plein air. I was following her because of her oil painting. Now follow both of you. I started watching these best watercolor channels videos to see if I would see anyone I watch. Congrats on making the list this time, you deserve it.
So glad you included OLIVER PYLE! Watching him paint and describe his process in his calm, British manner feels watching a Zen master! Landscape was never my thing-at least I never thought so-, but I’m kind of hooked on his channel.
Hi Jenna. Thank you so much for recommending my TH-cam channel. As you say, we all work very hard producing our channels, so it's great to have such a talented artist like yourself promoting my channel. I will promote your channel wherever I can. Keep up the good work, Jenna.
What an great video Jenna! I was so delighted to be included in your video along with very talented TH-cam watercolour creators/artists/teachers!! Yay! Happy New Year to you all! 🎉💕
PAUL CLARK! I found him as suggestion when I watched one of your videos and I'm so happy I did. He's so funny and his tutorials and landscapes are simply amazing. Thank you so much for this video, it's great to have so many great suggestions in one place (including the other comments).
You included my favorites but I would also add Cafe Watercolor with Eric Yi Lin to the list. Eric is a terrific artist and a kind soul who provides his followers with encouragement and inspiration as well as instruction.
As a student of Matthews, I'm so happy you mentioned him. I've taken/taking a course of his and I find him to be a very precise, easy to follow and interesting instructor. He is also prompt at answering questions. BRAVO!
Thank you so much for mentioning my channel, Jenna. Love that you are sharing all these artists as I was able pick out a few I need to go watch and support. All the best!
Yong Chen .... amazing watercolorist. He paints everything... portraits, landscape, still life. He uses only 3 colors and 2 brushes and makes the most amazing works of art from them. Does a lot of step by step videos. He has 298K subscribers.
Wow! So nice. Thank you Jenna! YES, Jenna Rainey belongs in that list for sure 😉! Excellent list too. I love what you said at the beginning about community over competition. When I started my channel I really wanted to promote more community among the watercolor art channels. I noticed other communities on TH-cam seem to do that better than watercolorists, so it's great to know your mind on that. Of the "other" landscape painters you mentioned my fav is probably Oliver Pyle. He definitely nails the subtleties of beautiful light. Colin Steed I'm not familiar with so I'll check his channel out. Thanks again.
You're so welcome and very deserving! Thank you for your kindness! You are such a great ambassador for the watercolor community, I love what you're doing here on TH-cam. 💕
Yes, Paul Clark! Great explanations of techniques and landscape demonstrations. And, a wonderful find- Joe Cartwright is a great teacher and does amazing sea and beach tutorials as well as landscapes. Also Liron Yanconsky does wonderful demonstrations in a loose style, and breaks down key aspects: values, shapes, shadows and colour temperature. He shows how to simplify and how to paint people, which has given me the confidence to try things that had always seemed too hard. Thanks Jenna for your generous approach to art. Art helps make the world a better place!
Hi Jenna. Great to see you mentioned Oliver Pyle this year. Apart from yourself he is one of the most instructive tutors on TH-cam. Hope you have another great year.
I love the tutorials and the amazing talent of Lois Davidson! Amazing landscapes, abstracts, lovely earthy colors! Most of all she's soft-spoken and down to earth. I believe she deserved a mention😊
Thanks for this list. I'm already a subscriber to 4 of them, so cool. I also love Nianiani. Her subjects are whimsy and light-hearted. From animals to cupcakes to mushrooms to flower/donut carts.
Clarice Gomes is one of my new watercolor artists to follow loving her style and she works with add just a hit of metallics in her painting! I love and follow all the ladies you mentioned Emj and Shayda being my favorite! They both offer so much and have such different styles and pair that with your channel and its made for a super fun learning experience!
I am currently already following almost all of your recommendations. One other I would HIGHLY recommend is Liron Yankonsky. He is amazing, and even holds live TH-cam sessions to answer questions.
Paul Clark and Chris Petri both have many videos already produced and are always sharing more. Chris has an "extreme beginner" collection of vids as well as many which are more advanced. Maria Raczynska and Louise De Masi. I think I spelled them correctly. These two are realistic painters. Thank you Jenna. I just subbed.
Thank you so much for sharing all of these channels and for sharing your wonderful talents with us! I would mention also: MB Watercolor (very new to YT), Wendy Powell-Jones, Chiara Botturi Watercolors, and Jean Lurssen Watercolors. Happy New Year!
thank you jenna ive watched all of these channels luise demasi is a really good channel and lindsay the frugal crafter they are 2 of my most watched channels .i love you all art is my passion ,i paint every day ,watercolor and acrylics but want to do oils again ,so much art goodness ,happy new year
I love Michelle Weber! Her videos are great to learn about all things watercolor. She doesn’t do many tutorials but she gives vital information about how to paint with watercolor and understanding watercolor from brushes, paper, paper stretching, the paints, pig, ents, pigment numbers, color mixing, the list goes on and on! De winton paper co has a wonderful, illustrative style and her painting approach is very dainty. She often uses small brushes and paints very beautiful, neat and clean florals, landscapes, and animals. Shayda Campbell is probably my favorite watercolor TH-camr out there. Her style is very similar to mine and I love the colors she often uses when she paints. She also makes the whole approach to painting seem much simpler which is always helpful. I love this idea of giving shout outs to other watercolor TH-camrs! I love listening to you talk about their styles and what their channels approach is from your perspective! These are always really fun videos!
Lois Davidson. She and her daughter Morgaine are brilliant teachers, as are the rest of the artists you mentioned. Thank you for sharing this list. Very helpful.
So wonderful of you to share all this with the watercolor community. I also follow and enjoy: Andrew Pitt, Grahame Booth and NVFine Art. Happy New Year Jenna!
Thanks for this Jenna, it’s so gracious of you. You turned m on to Paul Clark last year and he has become one of my favs! I can’t wait to check out some of these!
new to drawing and watercolours so glad i found your channel as its brilliant and cheers for letting me meet PAUL CLARK,what an amazing guy,(up the hammers}.i spend late last night watching most of his work and early this morning and all his sketches are available on his website for free! cheers and hugs from IRELAND Jenna.
Thanks for all the suggestions, I'm excited to check out these new channels. Another channel to consider for 2024 is Liesl's Artistic Studio, I've been enjoying her weekly tutorials recently.
Shibasaki is one of my favorite TH-cam channels, scrolled a lot and I was surprised no one mentioned it. He has a lot of beginner friendly tutorials and his painting is beautiful. Definitely recommend it.
Thank you for list Jenna. You’ve introduced me to Karen Rice (among others) and her tutorials have been so helpful. Not strictly watercolour, but I thoroughly enjoy Koosje Koene. Her videos about creating everyday, experimenting with different media and sketch booking are welcoming, fun and inspiring.
This is such a wonderful video for you to have done! Lindsay The Frugal Crafter is one of my favorites, although I enjoy watching many of the ones you have listed!
This is brilliant Jenna, thank you again. I found Marabeth Quin Art and Gaynor Pattle, both mixed media artists for semi-abstract art who use colors in such an uninhibited way and manage to create gorgeous pieces which is so inspiring to me. I can use my watercolours and gouache now more freely, without that nagging inner voice trying to hold me back. So far I have written down 23 more artists to check out by reading all the comments !
You missed thefrugalcrafter. She is a fabulous watercolor artist and does so many videos showing her technique. I am just a beginner, so all of these sound like some I really need to take a look at.
Thank you so much Jenna for spreading the love of watercolor around for all of these wonderful channels. The more love you give, the more you get. I am a subscriber of yours and many of the ones you mentioned and excited to try the new ones that you suggested.
I love when other artists share other artists so we can lean and enjoy more...so thank you, Jenna! 💜 Lovely to see so many Canadian's on the list. I subscribe to all but 3 so I will make a dash over to subscribe to them too. 🎨🖌🖼
Love that you support other artists! I do follow many of the ones you suggested but now I have a few others to check out. Thank you for all you do. You are one of the hardest working artists on TH-cam.
How thoughtful and kind of you to recommend other watercolor artists channels! Everyone will find their tribe so there's no need to fear competition. There's enough to go around. Thank you for being a great example for all to follow. Bless you!
I am so awed that you put it out there the other water color artists you recommend watching and their individual styles. I also follow Paintcrush with Kristy Rice. She breaks things down in a way I can understand without feeling intimidated. And, as you do too Jenna, she encourages practicing and not to expect perfection right out of the gate. Thanks for helping boost the art community. ☺
I was thinking the same thing. I love Jenna, she was the first watercolor artist I became familiar with. Kristy Rice, who puts a lively attitude to everything aspect of her videos, so opposite of Jenna's calm and encouraging style. Love them both.
You are the first artist that I found during Covid when I wanted to learn watercolor. I love all of the tips and tutorials. Thank you for sharing the channels of all of these wonderful artists! Happy 2023!
Thank you for doing this again! these are amaizing artists! love them all! I'm also a big fan of: NV fine art studio (Nina Volk from AU), Anastasia Mily (from AU), Watercolor Online with Michael Solovyev (Cananda), Javid Tabatabaei, Lois Davidson (UK), Niaz Hannan, Julia Lis Art
Thank you for making this list for us. I heard about it in the comments on the Diane Antone Studio so popped over. The person who wrote the comment was excited you mentioned Diane. I’m new to learning water coloring. Diane was the only one I was following. I adore her teaching style and stories. I will check out some of the others on this list and your channel too. Thanks again for sharing the love.
I have to join in here and say that I feel it is very rare to see this kind of shout-out to fellow artists when there is no collaboration. You have my utmost respect for doing this 🥰 I want to join in on this love too 😊 I couple of people that I have followed (that I have t seen mentioned already for as far as I scrolled) is Louise De Masi, makoccino, and one I recently found, Painting and Chocolate. I have also found a lot of useful tips on the channel of Dr. Oto Kano. Thanks to everyone for sharing their favorites 🥰
Love that you did this. Watched last year's and am now following several - sometimes I watch Paul Clarke just to listen to him, so funny and charming. Just an observation that several of those you mention this year are Canadians that I gravitated towards on my own...as a Canadian I am pleased so see their strong presence on TH-cam. Happy New Year Jenna!
Jane-Beata is a self-taught watercolor artist and teacher that does portrait painting and tutorials. I love her videos and would love it if more people supported her. Thanks everyone and have a wonderful new year!
I would add three more to your list - all of whom are already absurdly popular. Mateusz Urbanowicz; a Polish animator/designer living in Japan who does art tutorials on illustration and plein air painting. Unlike most TH-camrs he has his own personal aesthetic and an instantly recognisable style. Teoh Yi Chie; a Singaporean urban sketcher and art materials reviewer who also has his own personal style. And of course James Gurney. He used to be a fantasy illustrator and editorial artist. I say used to be, as I don't think there is enough work going in these fields for anyone, let alone James Gurney. Fortunately he has reinvented himself as possibly the best plein air painter working on TH-cam. He works in gouache and watercolor, or combinations of both.
Great vid hun hello I am a watercolourist from New Zealand I do lots of things on my channel I started on TikTok with 45k on there but TH-cam is A little more in-depth but lovely learning from all these channels.. much love and happy creations
Think it is a great idea because someone like me who has just recently started use watercolors and want to learn and don't know what they don't know about it this is a big help thank you. Keep doing what you do it makes a difference
Thank you for mentioning many of my favourites. Colin Steed was new to me and I'll look him up. You mentioned Nia of Nianiani last year -- she is so consistent and professional, and generally shows first with sketching how to construct the subjects she paints, especially flowers. I love Peter Sheeler, and Nil Rocha is very similar to him in both painting style and video style -- both are line and wash painters who mostly do buildings. Many comments have already suggested Paul Clark and I echo that -- he's a very entertaining TH-camr who paints mostly landscapes and/or buildings. One of the best watercolour instructors I've found is Lynn Baur of Dragonfly Spirit Studio. She doesn't post a lot of videos but her explanations of the basics are excellent and her website is awesomely organized so you can find exactly the content you want. I've been following Harriet deWinton, whom you included this year, since the start of my watercolour journey and find her style surprisingly easy to do, therefore good for beginners; contrary to the common belief, detailed painting is easier than loose for many beginners. Ceecee has wonderful style, as you noted, though she's not posting much these days. Liz Chaderton is worth a look, as is Wendy Powell-Jones. So much talent and generosity on TH-cam! I've been learning watercolour for just over a year, and almost solely with the help of TH-cam watercolour artists.
Thanks, Jenna - been following most of them (and you of course) and love them all. Missing Andrew Geeson, love his loose style as well! Happy New Year!
These artists are all great . I have some to add Nianiani, Louise De Masi, Rachaelsstudio, Espiroart, Anna Bucciarelli, are all some of my favorites too. All have free tutorials too.
Your confidence to support others is soooo refreshing. I’ve leaved a lot from watching you and many of the artist you mentioned but thanks for pointing out others. Happy New Year!
Jenna, thank you for taking the time to do this again as we enter the new year. I too believe in spreading the love and joy of watercolor. It's been a life-changer for me in a very positive way. Thank you for mentioning these artists, it speaks volumes about the person you are. I will definitely be checking out their channels. I'm thrilled that you included Diane Antone Studio on your list this year. I've been following her since her channel started and am a huge fan. She offers so much to her subscribers and your mention of her is well deserved. Thank you for all of the lovely tutorials you share. It's been super fun to follow you on your travel to France, and getting a little tour of your new home. I'm so happy for your success and wish you a very happy new year as we welcome in 2023!
You have reignited my passion for watercolor. I think I first dabbled in it when I was in high school- my parents bought me a watercolor book and basic supplies back in the '90's. I have always enjoyed it but would only "pick it up" briefly then get distracted by something else- life tends to do that. The last time I played around with it was about 5 years ago- I goofed around with it for a while and mostly tried to replicate what other artists had done; if I'm honest with myself, the results weren't terrible. When the quarantine began, my son and I discovered fluid art. I was surprised by his interest in it because he is not artistically inclined. He soon lost interest but I continued with it. It became an outlet for me that I thoroughly enjoyed and I even tried to sell my artwork and created a website. Then life through me a curveball. My son was diagnosed with leukemia May '22. He and I have always been close. To say my world changed would be an understatement. The last 9 months of my life are indescribable. After my son had a bone marrow transplant but remained hospitalized, I turned to watercolor as a way to pass the time. At least half of our lives have been spent in the hospital since his diagnosis. In the past month I have watched at least 15 of your videos. As I try to breathe and recollect myself, I tend to pour a glass of wine, light the fireplace and get out my watercolor supplies and watch one of your videos. It is a great way to lose myself; living in the world of leukemia treatment and recovery has been utterly exhausting. I know in one of your videos you had mentioned avoiding toxic chemicals in your art supplies due to an auto-immune condition. I apologize if I am inaccurate in this information- it resonated at the time but I won't pretend to remember details beyond what is necessary in my life at the moment. What I ultimately would like to say is "thank you". I appreciate your videos so much and it has been such a wonderful way for me to escape my reality for a brief moment. I feel like you set me up for success- when I implement your teachings I have loved and enjoyed the outcome- that feeling is priceless. Please keep doing what you're doing. There are so many of us that have been touched by you but don't take the time to tell you.
Thank you, Jenna! Thank you for being part of a supportive art community!! It's so much fun to discover new artists' youtube channels. Thanks for doing this again.
I really love the work of two artists in particular: 1. Oliver Pyle (Fine artist) who you mentioned. 2. Grahame Booth (Author of 3 Great books on AMAZON) They both have great videos on TH-cam: Oliver Pyle's video's are genuinely useful for Beginners to those much more experienced. He's exceptionally good at painting and teaching.
Jenna, What a wonderful thing to do.... spreading the love of watercolor and supporting others. It says a lot about you as a person. Artists like yourself and others taught me how to paint using watercolors and I am forever grateful. Well done !
Great video, thanks, some of them already subscribed, but one you missed, from here in the UK - Paul Clark..he offers terrific tutorials, and has a very vibrant FB group.
Wow! A little shocked that Paul Clark was not near the top of your list. Yes he only has a 150K subscribers and I follow most of the others on your list but hands down I've learned more from Mr. Clark than all the others on the list put together. . .
I found this 2023 list by accident after watching the 2022 list. Impressive!~ You are SO generous. Of course, these two lists might mean that I will never get away from my computer but, by the same token, I will (hopefully) become a better artist. Thank you!
Thank you so much for the collection. I was anxious to see if I've been keeping up. Well, I am already subscribed to all but one. Collin Steed is a new one to me and I really love his colors and landscapes. So thank you again for bringing new things. Appreciate your channel and all you do.
Hi Jenna, and Happy New Year! I have been a subscriber to almost all of those channels for a while now too. But I was SO excited that you mentioned Colin Steed. He's one of my favorites. I actually contacted him and told him I couldn't understand why he had so few subscribers, and he explained that he wanted to grow his channel organically, which I admire. But his tutorials are wonderful. Let's get his numbers up!
Thank you so much for these suggestions and I just love that you are supporting other channels 🙌 I really respect that. We need more of that in our world
Thank you for these recommendations Jenna. I am subscribed to a few of those and have watched some videos from a few of the others. Will go subscribe to support them. I love your philosophy of supporting other artists and being creative.
I really like Miranda Watson. She is very good and posts one to two times a week. Usually, it is Tuesday and Friday unless real life intervenes. Also, Dr. Oto Kano knows her paints. She does a lot of comparison, trying the watercolors with different things to see how they react. She has a big database of all her research.
Shelley Prior is a fantastic teacher and painter for intermediate level painters ... the best teacher I have tried She even does a free TH-cam demo every Wednesday morning and a paid, more detailed, Zoom class on Fridays. Her style is fairly realistic and often has lots of glazing,
Thank you Jenna for your unselfish promotion of other WC channels! I’m excited to try a couple of them. I echo the suggestion in the comments below for Eric Lin at Cafe watercolor, he makes excellent educational WC videos.
I have been following most of these and yourself as well. It is fantastic that you are mentioning other watercolour artists as it shows great respect and love for their talent. Ken Hobson is one I have started following and I find his style inspiring. Thank you Jenna and to those who take their time to give tutorials and share their artwork with us.
Four of these I had already subscribed to so I quickly added the rest. Thanks so much for sharing the wealth. It is so kind of you. But I must mention that I continually go back to your complete vid on watercolors. I always find something new, something uplifting and something satisfying. Thank you so much.
Did you see your favorite?! Did I miss any? Let me know below!
I recommend taking a look at Louise De Masi - an Australian lady that paints wonderful birdlife and flowers, she has a cute little blooper section at the end of each video :)
Check out Frank Halliday, Alan Owen for landscapes.
@@narcosisfilms I was just going to mention her. I really like her tutorials.
In addition to the wonderful ones you mentioned, Angela Fehr Watercolor, Canadian artist with a lovely loose style, thank you for all the great informative videos you share!

Lori Davidson. Loose atmospheric easy to follow demos. She’s a gem. Thanks for calling out Oliver Pyle - his videos are magical
Thanks for the recommendation! Olivier is great, Im glad you think so!
it's Lois
Lois Davidson. She and her daughter Morgaine are brilliant teachers, as are the rest of the artists you mentioned. Thank you for sharing this list. Very helpful.
Absolutely 💯 agree
Agree, Lois is fantastic
So happy to see Harriet de Winton! She’s a favorite and her advent calendar is so fun snd festive.
I also think The Frugal Crafter is very good. She is very knowledgeable and detailed in her demos, offering great tips, supplies and tutorials.
Thanks for sharing!! Louise De Masi from Australia. One of my favs!
what a generous gift to both your followers as well as the artists you've highlighted. Nice job sharing the love!! thank you!! 💝
Sandy Allnock (TH-cam) does many art mediums, fine art, drawing, copic, and watercolor. She is very talented.
You're so welcome! 💕💕
I love when other artists share other artists so we can lean and enjoy more...so thank you, Jenna! 💜
Lovely to see so many Canadian's on the list. I subscribe to all but 3 so I will make a dash over to subscribe to them too.
🎨🖌🖼
Canadian's showin up!
Kristy Rice, Rachel Parker, Anna Bucciarelli and Maria Raczynska are great watercolour artists too❣️
Adore Kristy Rice.
Bless you!
How classy of you to shout out other artists. Thank you for your art tutorials and all the others who make the world happier.
I totally subscribe. I know and follow Michael Solovyev, Javid Tabatabaei and Lois Davidson. The others i will see. Thank ou.
💕💕💕
You're so welcome!
Great to see CeeCee and Ellen mentioned!
Emma was my first watercolor you tube 3 years ago…always my go to channel
Love that you generously shout out these other artists! Happy New Year and thank you for all you do!
Happy new year!!
Love that you do this. World needs more cheerleading!
🤗🎉
You are such a light in this community Jenna, a few new channels for me to follow!
I found the DeWinton channel in November, It’s very much my style and I have learned a lot, I did her advent calendar and it turned out so well!
Great video, as a beginner to watercolour, I checked out and subscribed to all of these artists accounts, as well as you own. Thank you.
Thank you, Jenna! Thank you for being part of a supportive art community!! It's so much fun to discover new artists' youtube channels. Thanks for doing this again.
I really love the work of two artists in particular:
1. Oliver Pyle (Fine artist) who you mentioned.
2. Grahame Booth (Author of 3 Great books on AMAZON)
They both have great videos on TH-cam:
Oliver Pyle's video's are genuinely useful for Beginners to those much more experienced.
Paul Clark is awesome too.
I LOVE Paul! He was in last year's video! 😉
Thank you for doing these videos. Their are two artist channels I feel deserve recognition and that’s Debra Lyn Rosenbach and Shelley Prior.
Wow! A little shocked that Paul Clark was not near the top of your list. Yes he only has a 150K subscribers and I follow most of the others on your list but hands down I've learned more from Mr. Clark than all the others on the list put together. . .
Omg - I love that you have done this! Kindness wins the day!
💕💕
We need more of that in our world
This is so nice of you, Jenna ! Debra Lyn is an artist that deserves to be on the list, her style is unique.
Happy New Year !
Thanks so much! So good of you to share this!
Paul Clark, Charles Evans get my vote. Seen them all
Starting off with EMMA JANE!!!!!!
So proud. She’s not just an art teacher, she’s an art therapist 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙🙏🏽
This is a great video! Thanks for sharing the love. I’m familiar with a few of the creators you called out, and can’t wait to meet the new ones!
How open minded and thoughtful of you to share these channels. I am in good hands because I am subscribed to 10 of them including yours. Thank you
