    its a mixed bag, the dispo has a self interest in their product being clean, and the la times has a self interest in creating a breaking headline. the real thing that should be happening is that the state should be buying and testing product anonymously across multiple labs and checking to see if the numbers match (or if the drift from things like oxidation is within reason) and figuring out.
    then there are the fake boxes and bags and "mushroom" edibles that are actually research chems.
    (the state should also have double blind testing, and the public in every state should also have access to testing of homegrown or grey market product)
    .
    also ive heard if you keep your ph closer to 6.4 you have less heavy metal uptake.

    1 non-detected "trace" is of little concern. An astronomical number of cocktail synergy-boosting "trace" soups still passes while insects detect the stinch, hence the idea to make it "incidental"...

      P.S.: 21:29 Kill it quick (and efficiently) is exactly what a simple 100 X microscope can provide some hint about if (un)lucky, for example i captured a series of holes all shaped the same which indicated an infestation by juice-sucking insects. The bleached cerns around those holes among green one told me this infestation was eradicated quick and efficiently enough so the "legal" bag was sold. High peak signatures are a thing easy to detect, a multitude of non-detection ones not so easy for a lab having to detect a hundred additives or two (i502) and remember it has to be done in realistic time at a realistic cost...

    I am sure the pesticides are horrible, I never used the stuff!!! I can say that even if there were no pesticides on a plant, the fact that there are so many carpet fibers or pet hairs, nylon lint, ect... that toxicity still exists visually, but they say that particle count is part of the testing, and if there are any particulates visible to the eye that the test is failed immediately... but I find visible contamination in almost every dispensary I have visited... if the labs missed the visible portion, I could only imagine the failure rate on more refined testing...

If you can send your own samples in, you take a sample and the operator may 'accidentally' run the blade across the edge of a stray nug over the sample product. Some stray kief may or may not have hitched a ride to the lab with your 23%, whoops, I mean 37% platinum tier product.

    Something to note think of recalls on normal shit, Boars Head lunchmeat killed like 8 people this month.
    The issue I think with this is people circumventing normal routes. Like everything else in modern society we lack transparency. So banned chemicals are coming in from china. You can likely buy all the stuff legally, it's just you aren't supposed to use it for farming. Or in more drastic cases you see stuff like the chemical they are mixing with fent right now to make it into tranq. Andrew Callahagns visit to philly on youtube kinda lightly talks about how dangerous chinese chemicals are making there way across.

    • @DirgeMacBee
      @DirgeMacBee หลายเดือนก่อน

      I also wonder if some of it is boofy like people repackaging shit. Ohio is legal now but rec isn't set up so vape shops are selling thca. I won't get into the mud with people about thca itself BUT there are plenty of bad actors in that market passing off fake carts and stuff.

    • @DirgeMacBee
      @DirgeMacBee หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think the biggest issue and this falls to capitalism in general is that there isn't any money in being unbiased. The biggest extent is getting a roundtable discussion on youtube and I say this with the utmost respect you guys are still an arm of the industry to an extent as you are receiving payment for product placement. There isn't a huge incentive though to have a completely unbiased group do completely transparent and unbiased testing and list those results because there isn't a profit turned on that information.
      just my two cents, and I'm sure I'm being annoying by typing this out in multiple comments, I'm just having my morning smoke and coffee.

    i think all legal states should make optional for home growers a place to send them plants to test and others like telling u the sex of the plant as well.... the money the labs could make off us lol

    You know, that’s something the FDA can do since they want to stick their noses in our community & industry.. if they truly want to be helpful. Make companies also test with the FDA to do comparison results to their private labs that are used idk…. OR just grow your own 🤷‍♂️

    If companies were able to write off business expenses and losses, it would be easier for commercial scale grows to produce good flower. Unfortunately, the profit margins are razor thin right now and of course companies will cut corners. It’s not right but the current business structure promotes shady behavior

    If you feed your plants any kind of kelp, you have arsenic in your bud. If you grow with unfiltered tap water (in metro Detroit anyway) you will have arsenic in the weed. Organic nutrients, neem oil spray.. you can test positive for pesticides and/or heavy metals. You really do need to watch what you feed your plants man. It's more important than you could ever think. I like jacks nutrients, only because I personally know you will grow a totally clean product with it (as long as you at least have a quality undersink carbon water filter or RO filter). Recharge I'm unsure of but I don't trust kelp so I'd say it can be bad. I use to use megacrop nutrients until I noticed that kelp is that bad. Just actually do research and don't think "I'm growing organic so my bud is clean. And better than salt based nutrients" because I can tell you, you are wrong. Why do you think build a soil makes "build a soil light for commercial" then it also says "we can't promise you will pass heavy metal testing in your state". Sorry for the long ass bullshit but people just dont understand. Also, not ALL kelp has high arsenic, but it is very hard to find quality clean kelp. Even if you do you will have to use a very light amount to be under the legal limit in michigan anyway. It's basically a "don't fuck around and find out" kind of thing in my opinion.

    I dont believe any grower would intentionally use anything that would harm consumers on purpose , there is a large scale outdor growing operation in cass county mi , that I have driven bye and it is completely surrounded by other large farms growing corn an d potatoes next to them , they use tons of pesticides on there crops , and your going have air born and run off contamination, just a likely source, indoor growing is much better for the end consumers, just saying, know need for pesticides.

    Yes, pretty much all legal weed is dirty. If it's grown on a large scale (more than 10 lbs at a time ), it's probably dirty

    I have 2 friends who will remain nameless but are highly respected in the scenes and are ogs.....that being Said I'm here in Colorado and you can actively see buds where they're using pgr's and pesticides and even eagle 20 for powdery mildew....look at the cannabis depot or like livwell ....think about it if a dispensary is jeopardized and could lose a whole crop or more and even bigger have to wash and scrub everything and start over you really think they're going to lose all that money?? Nah they rather save their ass at your expense....this is supposed to be a healthy alternative medicine.....so basically greed has taken over
