    I think the white ash thing might only indicate the general moisture level, with the blacker ash resulting from incomplete combustion, perhaps due to excess water.

      That sounds closer to what the cause is than drowning your grow medium. I think , also, THC % has a lot to do with it. THC is sticky stuff and not leafy plant matter that burns through easily.

    I think it's totally wrong that most grow shops tell you that you don't need fresh in-air by an lti. They say that the windows at the bottom can be opened for that. But I think that a net filtered fresh air flow has many benefits. And I think the growworld is ready for a cal-mag / molasses / Nitrogen / Phosphorus - meter. Like stick it into the soil and know what you have to feed.🧐😉Peace, Love & Harmony! ✌🏻❤🌀

    As a retired firefighter from the fire science knowledge I have but I am just a dumb fireman. The whiteness of the ash has to do with % of combustion. Solid white ash represents 100% combustion. I think the color of ash has as much to do with fuel moisture content as much as anything else. Try and burn a joint of weed that had nothing but flushing its whole life. If it at 60% fuel moisture content and you can get joint to burn it’s ash will be black representing the not very high combustion %.

    Last couple of runs topping on the 5/6th node or so about a month in veg hasn’t seemed to effect my plant at all…I think soil amount and time you top the plant matters also and it’s something you need to test out and experience yourself.

    I’ve never once flushed my plants and have had perfect white ash every time. It’s all about how well you dry & cure it. You have to put it in a dark place around 55-65% humidity and make sure you burp frequently and avoid buds from sticking. A slow proper cure allows the plants to break down the sugars & chlorophyl and preserves the terpenes.

    there is so much broscience in this field. the bacteria in the soil are borderline extremophiles. Theyre in the soil... its a pretty inhospitable environment to thrive because of all the other organisms and the elements, unless you build up a resistance to the environment, or figure out another way to get into equilibrium with the organisms and the environments. If you start burning your plants, some bacteria die off, but a lot of them have defense mechanisms and countermeasures. They've been evolving longer and WAY faster than we have.

    This round I wanted to test my plants vigor/endurance/stress response. I put it through a transplant where I tore up the root zone, reveged, topped, and overwatered. Took about 8 weeks to get most of the plants to reveg while some still were throwing single bladed fan leaves when we threw them Back into flower. So far out of 20, 15 are fully recovered, 4 still looking stressed, and one hermied early early

  • @trashpandacanna-oj8oe
    @trashpandacanna-oj8oe ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've got a bro science subject I've been testing.
    I've been told consistently that heavy training and stress in veg can trigger herming in flower.
    Now I love nothing more than bending, snapping, stripping and topping my ladies like it's my job to abuse them. Never had a herm.
    This current grow, I have made it my goal to intentionally try to trigger it. I am going seed to harvest in a 2x2x4 tent so I HAVE to maintain a low canopy which I have trained heavily to do so. The underskirt of my girl looks...mean. haha. I can't even begin to explain the amount of knuckles from all the supercropping and branch snapping that happened this grow. I topped it so many times. Sometimes I topped again in a matter of days. No repair time. I just did a quick count from a picture I have and I see I think 48+ tops. lololol a monster.
    And yet... I'm 50+ days into flower and I haven't found a nanner yet. I'd be interested if others have intentionally tried to trigger a herm by "overtraining" in veg.
    I fully believe it would herm if I abused it during flower though. But I'll also attempt to confirm that during another grow sometime. Just wanted to see if veg training really was a concern but so far... My results are saying no.
    This is only 1 plant though. So, take it with a grain of salt until I , or others, repeat this test several times.

    • @billmarsh1971
      @billmarsh1971 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Give it some real abuse. Stress training is for starters. Burn the apexes/young buds with a naked flame, make the light regime highly irregular, push all the environmental factors to the limits. Extreme torture will likely give you exactly what you want

    • @trashpandacanna-oj8oe
      @trashpandacanna-oj8oe ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@billmarsh1971 My test is to see if it will trigger under any amount of heavy stress training. That's what I've been told and have heard for years would happen. Yet, I've personally never seen it and I feel like I train heavily. So I'm just being completely careless this time around and seeing what happens.
      Literally burning the plant or doing things that it would never normally go through in an indoor grow aren't going to help me. Haha. But I bet it would piss her off!
      And irregular light schedules are already highly documented that it will cause issues so I'm not questioning that one really.
      I'm not "wanting" it to herm out. But I'm testing if it "will" herm out from heavy stress training.
      So far, my results say no. I'll have to repeat several times though. It's been a fun one for sure. Awesome purple colors coming through right now.
      EDIT: I will be trying the temperature torture another time. I currently grow in a cold ass winter and hot ass summer so I can easily hit both ends of the temperature spectrum.

    I feel that as soon as you mess with the meristem, thats where the shock occurs. I bend and shape the plant, usually cutting off the lower branches. I just put plants too close to the light and their internodes were jammed up on one another, so i cut off all the nodes. The plant bounced back after a few hours and almost praying again. The only problem i had was placing the light too close, and they recovered way faster than they ever did after i topped them. I learned the hard way that you dont top autos. You'll never get as much of a yield because you're on two timers with auto - for veg and one for flower. If you screw up your veg, you wont get nearly as much yield. If you're growing autos, grow in supersoil with seed sprouted tea. It's saved my plants on numerous occassions and the bacteria/fungi will support the plant and act as an inoculant. Rove beetles too. I completely got rid of my fungus gnat issue by using rove beetles, triple blend nematodes, and a single solitary dusting of diatomaceous earth to kill off the last remaining adults (only use the DE after all colonies are thorougly established beyond the first few inches of soil). The rove beetles can stand it because theyre built like tanks and they know how to burrow, and only the surface nematodes would expire from this.

    Topping is totally beneficial if you use it right. Especially if your growing large plants. If you turning plants out when their only a foot n a half talk then yeah theres no point but if you want big plants with a big harvest topping is so helpful to get way more top colas instead of your plant just growing like a xmas tree. I will admit that alot of people top to early tho. If you top to early then by the time she has gotten big and gearthy and atarts getting heavy buds on it you wont have strong of a support from your stalks and can cause breakege if you dont tye and cage enough. You wanna do it once the plant has gotten to a decent size cuz once you top it it will fork so if your growing some monsters you want foot or 2 of fckn tree trunk before its spits off. Just sayin food for thought.

    So your topic would suggest Miracle Grow would be fine then with the amount of nutrients at harvest. How's it any different really. I feel if it's not mother nature providing it, it's not natural is all. I try to replicate mother nature.

    ill top my plants a bunch of times, i am vegging for a couple months but i also have everyting staged so that plant is going into the flower tent after my last run is done.
    also, flushing may not be necessary but ive never understood why you would keep feeding your plant right up until the end, there should be enough residual nutrients in the soil you dont need to. sorry not sorry but rockets/smarties are fucking awesome.

    I tried 3 runs starting 2 yrs ago and used humboldt secret nutrients based on your guys recommendation at the time. I got decent looking flowers but always had black ash and similar unsavory flavored smoke each time. I lost interest after that. I’ve seen similar posts by people saying they had same results with that nute line. Thinking about trying again but it’s cheaper to just buy decent flower in my area

    I have thai sativa landrace that's been hanging in a room at our farm without temperature control in Thailand that smells the same today as it did when it got hunged there in the middle of November.
    But I lose terpines from most hybrids after a couple of months in the bedroom with ~10h/day air conditioning at 20 degrees Celsius 🤔🧐🤯

    Experimented years ago running dwc with powdered nutes with microbes and silica and have never had better harvests . So, through personal experimentation Ive successfully found you can mix synthetics with organics and have top shelf success. And all this I found a few years before people started saying what I already knew, first hand. And still I get shit . But its usually from a completely inexperienced person. I Dont get it....

    I wonder what the plant has inside of it like test the buds in a lab to see the difference in the compounds in the buds between flushed and not idk I feel the plant takes the nutrients in and turns them into sugars for energy so the plant can grow so it’s hard to believe that’s there’s any fertilizers in the plant heavy metals and stuff maybe but I’m no scientist 😅
