Watching the movie The White Cliffs of Dover brought me here! There is a scene in the movie where the song is featured. You play it beautifully just like in the movie. Thanks so much for sharing it.
I am leaning towards atheism, myself. And, catch myself playing religious songs ALL the time. I think it's because I was taught against ALL other forms of music when I was going to Church (went to an extremely strict Church - United Pentecostal Church). Anyways, was just curious if you could tell me why YOU still play it (if it is indeed religious music)? Thanks! And, again, you play beautifully.
nicely done. Pretty much the only things I'd like to save from religion is the music and architecture. This made me think that maybe you should cover one of Molly Lewis' (aka sweetafton23) songs such as, An Open Letter to Stephen Fry.
Hi, I can totally understand what you mean. There IS a lot of beauty in religious music. I find myself loving it, too. I was just wondering if it was for the same reasons as I have or not. And, it sounds like it is. I'm sure me and you have a LOT in common. And, on to another subject. One of the BIGGEST reasons why I quit going to the United Pentecostal Church (UPC) was/is because they hate(d) gays. They say, of course, that they DON'T hate gays. They just hate the "sin" of being gay.
Beautiful music. I play the piano, myself. Play ONLY by ear. And, not by notes at all. I was just curious about something, though. And, I mean NO disrespect by this comment (or question) at all. But, the music you just played sounds like a RELIGIOUS song. And, I know you said that you were an atheist. So, I was just wondering (IF it is a religious song, which it seems like I have heard that song before in Church), why do you STILL play religious songs IF you are an atheist?
We all know the truth, though. I don't feel love when I go there at all. I feel nothing but hate. And, if they are going to use verses in the Bible to condemn us gays, then they better start using the other verses (also found in the Bible) which tell us that we are to abstain from eating shell fish, pork, etc., etc., etc., ... seems like they want 2 cherry pick the verses (holding on to the ones they like and discarding the ones that make THEM uncomfortable). The Bible was written by MEN, anyway
RIP you great legend 😭😭😭

Ab is a pretty key for this song...I believe it's usually done in G.
