Lush is one of my favorite houses. I think they are underrated. Their fragrances are very unique. My favorites are Twilight/Sleepy, Breath of God, and Lord of Misrule. I enjoy exploring them so much because they are not like anything else. Lust is not for me. It is so strong that I had to put the solid perfume in a plastic bag because I could smell it across the room.
LOL! Wow, that is strong! I need to give Breath of God a try. I got the little wash card of it, but it didn't have much of a scent to it so I still feel like I don't really know what the perfume would smell like. Thanks!
Yeah, I think they get overlooked. I think their perfume game was really upped when they started the Gorilla line. I'm hoping they continue to produce unique fragrances, but Simon Constantine is no longer making their fragrances as he started his own house called And Perfumes.

I blind bought What Would Love Do, Lust and Breath of God. None of them is a disappointment or a challenge to me, though Lust is on the correct side of brave I think. All three outperform much of the more expensive stuff I have, hence I came here, hoping for quick clear summaries of some others. That's what I got, so I subscribed. I have not seen Rentless before or maybe I hadn't noticed. You are so right it is best to give Lush perfumes time to set. I love Yog Nog too I have the body spray and shower gel, love snow fairy very sweet! Thank you for sharing ❤️

The first time I went to lush store, i was walking around and went to perfume section. I smell a few and didnt like any. And when I touched lust, i was so surprise and keep smelling it. I guess i just love jasmine perfume. My signature scent is TM Alien

Lust is my favourite perfume and I love it a lot - but Lust has lots of jasmine in it and when I was working at Lush I learnt that jasmine is naturally indolic, so it smells like BO or cat pee to some people 😂
I find that a lot of Americans sometimes react quite bad to Lush's blackcurrant scents and I think it's a background issue. In the UK we grow up with blackcurrant as a mainstream scent and flavour- it's in everything. I can understand why some American's don't take to it as it's quite a potent scent, especially if you're going for the fragrance of the blackcurrant leaf.
I want to try that one again! I remember spraying it in the store a long time ago, but haven't smelled in since. That's definitely a favorite of many people!
I love a lot of their fragrances. Lol I have American Cream, Cardamom Coffee, LOM, Pansy, Rentless, Tank Battle, and Vanillary. Body Sprays- HIWTK, Rose Jam, Sex Bomb, Tramp, Twilight. 💚 Rentless is breathtaking!
I love vanilliary, Lord of Misrule, sun, and 29 high street! Sun is citrus based, absolutely does not last, but it’s just a yoga scent for me lol pop on before a class, isn’t offensive, is bright & uplifting, and I don’t even feel like I’m wasting it when I shower after lol
American cream smells like those plastic baby dolls that are scented like baby powder, so weird but yet so good!😆 I highly recommend the Lush body spray Roller. It is absolutely beautiful!
Rentless projects 10 feet from me no lie. Lush is easy on the trigger....which is hard for me haha 😄 As usual great video, and its nice to see a lush review on fragrances. 🥰

This is a great list, Tara. 😊 Yep, Vanillary is my favorite from Lush but I very much agree that these fragrances (typically) turn into something appealing once they have been given time to dry down and develop. I’m with you on Lust though; I tried really hard to love it. I don’t get a bad breath vibe from it 😄 but it is just SO strong to me. Never wanna wear that one in a closed space. Wow! You are INCREDIBLE at guessing notes! The citrus in Rentless is grapefruit and I spray it on myself after a sweaty shift at work and it makes me feel fresh and less anxious! Junk smells gorgeous on my skin but it always gives me a headache which really upsets me as I didn't realise until after I bought it. Lord of Misrule smells like a tasty dream on clothing but it smells like petrol/gasoline on my skin chemistry somehow. Vanillary has been my favourite for more than six years and up until Jan 2019, this was the perfume that I wore exclusively. I have ordered some Rose Jam online so I'll let you know what I think of that. I didn't like the scent of the shower gel when my mum was gifted some last year and she let me take a sniff but I recently bought the Rose Jam bubbleroon and I consistently smell it and I like it so much that I don't even want to use it yet!

@@Olfactofiles sounds lovely. I haven't used any of those! I bought Furze last year after my favourite shower oil of the same name and scent got continued...but I just didn't like it. Furze smelt a lot like coconut but in a very green way and it wasn't quite me. The notes are mimosa and something else.
I’ve never tried any Lush fragrances, if fact I didn’t know they made them until I joined the fragrance community! I’ve only been in Lush stores a couple of times. Great reviews!
The only Gorilla Perfume/ Lush fragrance I own is Sikkim Girls - Tuberose and Frangipani with just a hint of that dirty/indolic Jasmine. The frangipani does a good job I think of not letting it get too dirty. Thanks for this I actually keep forgetting that I have this fragrance and I really love wearing it on summer evenings! I only have one because I just don’t get in the city to try them that often but I should make more effort to go smell them.

We had a fragrance meet up in my area and we went to Lush. I'm interested in having a lush fragrance in my collection, but this was a decent look into them which is helpful. I was lost with the social distancing and all that I saw LOL. Great vid!!

I’m still looking for the lush fragrance that I like enough to buy, I almost bought Lust but then I tried it again and didn’t enjoy it as much, vallinary is nice, think my fave is Tank Battle which only comes in the larger size I believe, may even be discontinued now. Fabulous video mate 🙂 I've only tried 3, non have got me hooked yet. But there is so much crazy love for these. Our good friend Andreas certainly does love them. I think of what I've tried maybe Sapho is my favourite but not enough to probably want to own it. I must say tho it's a shop I've bought a lot of their other products from over the years. I love Lush Tara great video! I must say I dislike Lush Lust it is awful and i am not sorry to say that lol! I bought it years ago and had to throw it away! Vanillary is my favourite out of all the ones I have tried but I disliked it at first until it dried down and I was pleasantly surprised. I absolutely love their body sprays, they smell much better than a lot of their perfumes - Let me continue watching
Thank you for your video, very informative. I’m cruelty free since 2017 and I decided to buy cruelty free fragrance this years. I had so many none cruelty free perfume to use up before buying more. Unfortunately they just stayed in my collection because I didn’t want to wear them and having people asking me which perfume I’m wearing.
Oh Tara, what a lovely video. I actually also don’t really like Lust (I tried it once and don’t even remember what it smells like; it was an instant no). The thing with Lush is their chunkiness that makes them, as you pointed out, rough around the edges. But that’s also why I enjoy them so much. They really feel different every time I wear them. I have to admit that Rentless is not my favourite fragrance ever 😊, but after your video I actually want to experience it again. Hmmm, I guess I’m just the Dirty kind of guy! I also love Dear John and some of their weird ones like Breath of God, The President’s Hat or The Devil’s Nightcap. These three were definitely not love at first sniff, but rather fragrances that slowly find their way into your heart. But in fact these are the ones that stay with you (if they aren’t discontinued 😂). Thanks so much for your wonderful house review! I really enjoyed it!

Hi Tara !! What a great review ! I have Rose Jam body spray and that stuff is nuclear if I spray it upstairs in my closet my kids can smell it all the way downstairs 😳 and that’s only one spray ! I also have Rentless - when I first bought it I don’t think I was ready for it nor did I appreciate it - I had tried it a couple months ago and Wowsa was it fantastic ! It feels like the holidays to me - warm, cozy, inviting maybe not for others but definitely to myself ☺️ great reviews :) I also can’t get into Lust I totally get that stinky breath from it too haha !! Dirty was such a first love of fragrance to me... i never into fragrances but when I study abroad in England, I got a chance to visit Lush every now and then. I find their store is quite unique. so i try Dirty and omg i know it smells like toothpaste but my liking towards mint is out of this world. it really gives me tranquility. I haven't had or bought lush for years after I graduated. we don't have Lush here so it's hard to purchase. but it wasn't a repeat purchase too when I live there lol. today I drop by Lush store (and yes they're available in my country now). as soon as I try this fragrance, it gives me a lot of nostalgia 😭😭 i had to buy bcos of that purpose... I'm quite happy. although not a fave scent. but i buy for the sake of being nostalgic. the only thing I treasure in my life 😢😇 kinda disappointed with their packaging/design cuz I don't remember the name but I vividly remember the blue waves. now it looks cheap & simple

I love your house overviews. The only perfume I bought from them was Cardamom Coffee. It smelled ok in the store on paper but when I brought it home and sprayed it on me it smelled like if someone had spilled day old coffee in an ashtray full of ashes and cigarette butts. 🤢I returned it and got the Big body spray. I also just bought a couple more body sprays...Coco Loco (which they sent by accident so they let me keep it) and Snow Fairy! I was chatting with Barry about that one. He had just bought it and said it smelled like candy floss, which is perfect for Christmas. 😄Can I just also say that I am annoyed with how they have all the bottles of perfume out where anyone can spray them. I saw a lot of people spraying bottles that WERE NOT testers. I prefer buying a bottle that has not been sprayed. Thanks, needed to get that off my chest. LOL
Oh no! My store had the testers pretty obviously displayed, though I suppose people could have sprayed the actual bottles as well. That's so frustrating! I usually order perfumes from their website anyway as my store doesn't usually have the 30ml sizes in stock and I prefer the smaller bottles if I can get them. I should try Snow Fairy. Thanks, I have been interested in Rentless in particular. I loved Lord of Misrule shower gel and I wondered if I should get the perfume. I like Rose Jam but there are jammy rose perfumes (by Montale and Mancera, etc.) that I have now that I like better. I also do not like Lust. I like Kerbside Violet, which you didn't review. A few years ago I went through a whole bottle of Kerbside Violet (for me to finish a bottle is unusual) and I haven't replaced the bottle but I have some in a solid perfume form but I don't use it because I think the solid perfume doesn't really do much but leave some grease on your skin.

I also don't care for perfume oils for the same reason. I don't like anything greasy on my skin, probably because I'm super oily all on my own. Ha!
I was really interested to hear what you thought about lust, I'm really torn about this fragrance, can't decide whether I like it or not! Its kind of intriguing to me and I keep wanting to go back to it... but it is very strong and as you say 'rough around the edges'. Great review!

I used to be a lush junkie! lol! I had Lord of Misrule in a body conditioner and I remember when the American Cream conditioner was popular, I used it...alot! lol! I have 4 Lush fragrances at the moment; Vanillary, Smuggler's Soul, Breath of God and Himalaya. They're all lovely! I totally agree with you about Lush fragrances on skin. Himalaya was quite challenging for me in the opening. When I sprayed it on my skin at the store, it was a hard no until I got home and the dry down was... ugh...so good! Also a Yog Nog fan. I had a few of the Yog Nog scented bath products last holiday season, they're great! Great video Tara! Really Enjoyed.

I was just looking at the Lush site yesterday because I’ve been on a hunt for a good vanilla that doesn’t go powdery or dessert-like. I didn’t end up buying the vanilla fragrance because I wasn’t convinced it was what I was looking for. I’ve been hunting for a deep boozy vanilla that I can layer with other fragrances. Lemme know if you have any suggestions. 😊
I really like M. Micallef Note Vanillee. Another one you might want to try is Vanille by Mona di Orio, but I don't have a lot of experience with that one yet to have a complete opinion (just got a small sample recently). I love Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille, though it's maybe only a tiny touch boozy. Hope you find something!

I blind brought frangipani. I was expecting the perfect cosy jumper fragrance. What I got instead was ill 🤮 the first perfume that has made me want to actually vomit. They dry down is quite nice but it takes about an hour to get to that dry down and I can't cope with it that long 🤮
LOL! That is awful! I just blind bought it as well. I need to test it on skin, but it's not a love. I also got Fresh As and am NOT a fan. Yeah, if it's that bad in the opening probably not worth it.

LUSH has gone in a bad direction (in the UK at least) when they increased the prices, made their product towards children and stoped doing socail media.

I've been trying lots of Lush scents in the shop (here in New Zealand we are lucky not to have had major lockdowns). My favourites (that I bought) are Sikkim Girls, Rose Jam, Pansy, Goddess, Karma and What would Love Do. I sprayed Lust on myself in the shop and almost died. I tried it a couple of times to torture myself: I agree: major halitosis. I usually love Jasmine . I tried the solid version of it: that is MUCH easier to wear. I own that now and wear it quite often. The solid scents are a good way to try Lush scents. Thanks for the great video!

I’m just starting to get into the fragrance side of lush, and I thought Karma would be my favorite but I LOVE breath of god! It’s crazy how much I don’t like the Lush perfumes when I first spray them in the store, but then they dry down to much prettier scents and I can smell the fruity notes more. I also loooove the space girl and Sakura body sprays. Something about all of their scents is so nostalgic

Highhhhly recommend layering Lord Of Misrule, Rentless, and Grass. Or even just LOM and Rentless. You're welcome.

This is a great list, Tara. 😊 Yep, Vanillary is my favorite from Lush but I very much agree that these fragrances (typically) turn into something appealing once they have been given time to dry down and develop. I’m with you on Lust though; I tried really hard to love it. I don’t get a bad breath vibe from it 😄 but it is just SO strong to me. Never wanna wear that one in a closed space. Wow! You are INCREDIBLE at guessing notes! The citrus in Rentless is grapefruit and I spray it on myself after a sweaty shift at work and it makes me feel fresh and less anxious! Junk smells gorgeous on my skin but it always gives me a headache which really upsets me as I didn't realise until after I bought it. Lord of Misrule smells like a tasty dream on clothing but it smells like petrol/gasoline on my skin chemistry somehow. Vanillary has been my favourite for more than six years and up until Jan 2019, this was the perfume that I wore exclusively. I have ordered some Rose Jam online so I'll let you know what I think of that. I didn't like the scent of the shower gel when my mum was gifted some last year and she let me take a sniff but I recently bought the Rose Jam bubbleroon and I consistently smell it and I like it so much that I don't even want to use it yet!

@@Olfactofiles sounds lovely. I haven't used any of those! I bought Furze last year after my favourite shower oil of the same name and scent got continued...but I just didn't like it. Furze smelt a lot like coconut but in a very green way and it wasn't quite me. The notes are mimosa and something else.

The only Gorilla Perfume/ Lush fragrance I own is Sikkim Girls - Tuberose and Frangipani with just a hint of that dirty/indolic Jasmine. The frangipani does a good job I think of not letting it get too dirty. Thanks for this I actually keep forgetting that I have this fragrance and I really love wearing it on summer evenings! I only have one because I just don’t get in the city to try them that often but I should make more effort to go smell them.

We had a fragrance meet up in my area and we went to Lush. I'm interested in having a lush fragrance in my collection, but this was a decent look into them which is helpful. I was lost with the social distancing and all that I saw LOL. Great vid!!

I’m still looking for the lush fragrance that I like enough to buy, I almost bought Lust but then I tried it again and didn’t enjoy it as much, vallinary is nice, think my fave is Tank Battle which only comes in the larger size I believe, may even be discontinued now. I think of what I've tried maybe Sapho is my favourite but not enough to probably want to own it. I must say tho it's a shop I've bought a lot of their other products from over the years. I love Lush Tara great video! I must say I dislike Lush Lust it is awful and i am not sorry to say that lol! I bought it years ago and had to throw it away! Vanillary is my favourite out of all the ones I have tried but I disliked it at first until it dried down and I was pleasantly surprised. I absolutely love their body sprays, they smell much better than a lot of their perfumes - Let me continue watching

Thank you for your video, very informative. I’m cruelty free since 2017 and I decided to buy cruelty free fragrance this years. I had so many none cruelty free perfume to use up before buying more. Unfortunately they just stayed in my collection because I didn’t want to wear them and having people asking me which perfume I’m wearing.
Oh Tara, what a lovely video. I actually also don’t really like Lust (I tried it once and don’t even remember what it smells like; it was an instant no).
The thing with Lush is their chunkiness that makes them, as you pointed out, rough around the edges. But that’s also why I enjoy them so much. They really feel different every time I wear them.
I have to admit that Rentless is not my favourite fragrance ever 😊, but after your video I actually want to experience it again. Hmmm, I guess I’m just the Dirty kind of guy! I also love Dear John and some of their weird ones like Breath of God, The President’s Hat or The Devil’s Nightcap. These three were definitely not love at first sniff, but rather fragrances that slowly find their way into your heart. But in fact these are the ones that stay with you (if they aren’t discontinued 😂).

Hi Tara !! What a great review ! I have Rose Jam body spray and that stuff is nuclear if I spray it upstairs in my closet my kids can smell it all the way downstairs 😳 and that’s only one spray ! I also have Rentless - when I first bought it I don’t think I was ready for it nor did I appreciate it - I had tried it a couple months ago and Wowsa was it fantastic ! It feels like the holidays to me - warm, cozy, inviting maybe not for others but definitely to myself ☺️ great reviews :) I also can’t get into Lust I totally get that stinky breath from it too haha !! Dirty was such a first love of fragrance to me... i never into fragrances but when I study abroad in England, I got a chance to visit Lush every now and then. I find their store is quite unique. so i try Dirty and omg i know it smells like toothpaste but my liking towards mint is out of this world. it really gives me tranquility. I haven't had or bought lush for years after I graduated. we don't have Lush here so it's hard to purchase. but it wasn't a repeat purchase too when I live there lol. today I drop by Lush store (and yes they're available in my country now). as soon as I try this fragrance, it gives me a lot of nostalgia 😭😭 i had to buy bcos of that purpose... I'm quite happy. although not a fave scent. but i buy for the sake of being nostalgic. the only thing I treasure in my life 😢😇 kinda disappointed with their packaging/design cuz I don't remember the name but I vividly remember the blue waves. now it looks cheap & simple

I love your house overviews. The only perfume I bought from them was Cardamom Coffee. It smelled ok in the store on paper but when I brought it home and sprayed it on me it smelled like if someone had spilled day old coffee in an ashtray full of ashes and cigarette butts. 🤢I returned it and got the Big body spray. I also just bought a couple more body sprays...Coco Loco (which they sent by accident so they let me keep it) and Snow Fairy! I was chatting with Barry about that one. He had just bought it and said it smelled like candy floss, which is perfect for Christmas. 😄Can I just also say that I am annoyed with how they have all the bottles of perfume out where anyone can spray them. I saw a lot of people spraying bottles that WERE NOT testers. I prefer buying a bottle that has not been sprayed. Thanks, needed to get that off my chest. LOL
Oh no! My store had the testers pretty obviously displayed, though I suppose people could have sprayed the actual bottles as well. That's so frustrating! I usually order perfumes from their website anyway as my store doesn't usually have the 30ml sizes in stock and I prefer the smaller bottles if I can get them. I should try Snow Fairy. Thanks, I have been interested in Rentless in particular. I loved Lord of Misrule shower gel and I wondered if I should get the perfume. I like Rose Jam but there are jammy rose perfumes (by Montale and Mancera, etc.) that I have now that I like better. I also do not like Lust. I like Kerbside Violet, which you didn't review. A few years ago I went through a whole bottle of Kerbside Violet (for me to finish a bottle is unusual) and I haven't replaced the bottle but I have some in a solid perfume form but I don't use it because I think the solid perfume doesn't really do much but leave some grease on your skin.

I also don't care for perfume oils for the same reason. I don't like anything greasy on my skin, probably because I'm super oily all on my own. Ha!
l use least favorite perfumes when taking a hot bath, just an idea for you, simply spray it in the water and you will get steamed aroma of Junk : )

I was really interested to hear what you thought about lust, I'm really torn about this fragrance, can't decide whether I like it or not! Its kind of intriguing to me and I keep wanting to go back to it... but it is very strong and as you say 'rough around the edges'. Great review!

I used to be a lush junkie! lol! I had Lord of Misrule in a body conditioner and I remember when the American Cream conditioner was popular, I used it...alot! lol! I have 4 Lush fragrances at the moment; Vanillary, Smuggler's Soul, Breath of God and Himalaya. They're all lovely!
I totally agree with you about Lush fragrances on skin. Himalaya was quite challenging for me in the opening. When I sprayed it on my skin at the store, it was a hard no until I got home and the dry down was... ugh...so good!
Also a Yog Nog fan. I had a few of the Yog Nog scented bath products last holiday season, they're great!

I was just looking at the Lush site yesterday because I’ve been on a hunt for a good vanilla that doesn’t go powdery or dessert-like. I didn’t end up buying the vanilla fragrance because I wasn’t convinced it was what I was looking for. I’ve been hunting for a deep boozy vanilla that I can layer with other fragrances. Lemme know if you have any suggestions. 😊
I really like M. Micallef Note Vanillee. Another one you might want to try is Vanille by Mona di Orio, but I don't have a lot of experience with that one yet to have a complete opinion (just got a small sample recently). I love Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille, though it's maybe only a tiny touch boozy. Hope you find something!

I blind brought frangipani. I was expecting the perfect cosy jumper fragrance. What I got instead was ill 🤮 the first perfume that has made me want to actually vomit. They dry down is quite nice but it takes about an hour to get to that dry down and I can't cope with it that long 🤮
LOL! That is awful! I just blind bought it as well. I need to test it on skin, but it's not a love. I also got Fresh As and am NOT a fan. Yeah, if it's that bad in the opening probably not worth it.

LUSH has gone in a bad direction (in the UK at least) when they increased the prices, made their product towards children and stoped doing socail media.

I’m a Lust girl, i agree with you, when i first smelled it, i was a lil overwhelmed, i did not know what to think of it, but when you spray it on skin, the scent bubble is just intoxicating. I've been trying lots of Lush scents in the shop (here in New Zealand we are lucky not to have had major lockdowns). My favourites (that I bought) are Sikkim Girls, Rose Jam, Pansy, Goddess, Karma and What would Love Do.
I sprayed Lust on myself in the shop and almost died. I tried it a couple of times to torture myself: I agree: major halitosis. I usually love Jasmine . I tried the solid version of it: that is MUCH easier to wear. I own that now and wear it quite often. The solid scents are a good way to try Lush scents.

I’m just starting to get into the fragrance side of lush, and I thought Karma would be my favorite but I LOVE breath of god! It’s crazy how much I don’t like the Lush perfumes when I first spray them in the store, but then they dry down to much prettier scents and I can smell the fruity notes more. I also loooove the space girl and Sakura body sprays. Something about all of their scents is so nostalgic
