Is there any chance that firing on the same target multiple times weakens the target 🎯 & thus degrades the accuracy of the test? I'm not saying it does, I honestly don't know which is why I'm asking.

You should get a metal detector wand to give you an idea about where the round is.
Nearly every test I have seen involving 50 BMG vs "Something" the round always deflects off at some stage, not a great bullet for very deep penetration but will certainly stop anything it hits lol

I have a .50 Caliber bullet which I picked up on a street in Santo Domingo in May, 1965 when I was a platoon commander in the 1st Battalion, 8th Marines. The fifty calibers were being fired regularly and this bullet has run out of energy and dropped to the street. It is home, where it has been for more than 50 years. It is an impressive chunk of metal.
How many? Best invest in a paper plate factory. 😄

Your kidding paper plates. Oh bye the way my 50bmg has a 6' barrel it's doing about 3900fps special springs of course. Modified M2 nickle plated madu. The whole action had to be modified. For longer barrel. Lots more pressures.

All these tests and compares you do, I would think the type of projectiles would be just as or more important than caliber.

I was thinking you could spread corn on a field for about two years, make sure the field is well into someones private property, so you can keep it off limits to hunters so that the deer population can explode.Then, in year 3, let them deer get on that corn, and wait until you can get about 10 of them in a row, and with one trigger pull, you can feed the family for at least a year!

You know what amazes me is that paper plates stop everything you toss at them. I'm thinking the DOD should be looking at using them as armour on thin-skinned vehicles. Cheap and lightweight!! Gotta wonder how they'd do against an RPG and don't tell me Heavy Metal has one of those for testing!!!

There is no lead in any.50 bmg round. It's either soft steel or heat treated hard steel (armour piercing).

WHO-TEE-WHO: been watching your channel for a couple of weeks now but after this one I had to subscribe. Don't change the paper plate test it definitely gives a good perspective of how much power and energy is expended. One suggestion wrap the stack with saran wrap or glad wrap this would keep the plates together and tight. You could also but a colored plate at given intervals ie, every 100 plates. Thanks for your vids. and keep them coming

I was thinking about this maybe you should try 1x1 foot peaces of plywood of different thickness and kinds. That would be cool !! Just another thought how about a big peace of bulistic gel vs the bmg or as a lot of soldiers call it bfg big f**king gun lol!!!

Why shoot in exactly the same hole?
You had the chance for two channels.
Imagine, if you will Who_TEE_Who, shooting 100 belt-fed rounds through a M2 BMG. I did that almost 30 years ago. Just remembering those times makes me get, well, a bit aroused!! What was NOT arousing was being called on alert at 0200 hours (2 am for civilians). I grabbed my ruck, my duffle bag, drew the peashooter (M16A2) and M2 (receiver which weighed 62 lbs. plus 2 spare barrels) from the Armory. Carried all that crap up the hill from the billets to the motor pool (152 steps, yeah I counted!) Carrying all that stuff, I weighed over 300 lbs. My body weight, at that time, was 150 lbs. It's no wonder that my back and hips hurt today!!
But... I'd do it all over again.

Yeah, it was neat but you kind of blew the test by firing both, especially near the same spot. some of that damage could have been the second round penetrating further then the first because of the trauma of the first....then it may have hit the first causing the explosion out the top.
