I’m going to be excited for James Bond Day of this year and I Hope Christopher Nolan to direct Bond 26
Thanks for the update!
But next time, please turn down the music a little bit.
I believe 50's Bond could work very well. But more as a tv show, that's the way to go to me. Would be somehow a new medium for this franchise. Imagine, we would see Casiono Royale, Moonraker etc in a way, Flemming would have intended as movies. Amazing!
It's interesting that the rumours around Nolan's involvement often say he wants to do 'accurate Fleming adaptions' [which was Tarantino's pitch for Casino Royale'] or a period piece [when all his not based on historic events have been contemporary]. He's talked about his love of 'OHMSS' and 'The Spy Who Loved Me' in the past so I'd more expect him to take inspiration from the film series in a new, contemporary story but happy to be proved wrong. Similar to casting as people do come and go from his films [Tom Hardy for example has been absent from his last two movies even though he's often linked to a 'Nolan Bond'] so I wouldn't really want to guess who he would cast [He cast Harry Styles for Dunkirk which was very 'left field'].
SAG-AFTRA members are still walking those pickets. Besides, "Babs" (the main guardian of the Bond IP) seems to be more preoccupied with socially-conscious 'Oscarbait' films than continuing the long-running series for the time being.
I buy into the Nolan rumors to the extent that he is EON's top choice and that it will be more than one film. I still buy into the rumors that it involve period pieces. I would love it, but I can't see them doing it.
I'm sorry, but I don't want James Bond going back to the 1950s.
Because they could not insert product placements throughout the films? 😏
Bond going back to the 50s is a TERRIBLE idea to say the least.
The producers have worked long and hard to make bond relevant in the modern age. Going back would just kill that.
It's like a high school jock who turned 62, is now suddenly reminiscing the"good old days".
I don't see the appeal either. I do wonder if the novelty would wear off very quickly and there would be a ton of CGI involved [like in 'The Kingsman'] for the setting. It's fine to got there for books etc but the film series should stay contemporary. If someone of Nolan's reputation wanted to do it, I'd be more on board with it.
What happened to Bondtober, we did it last year why not this year?
I wouldn't hold your breath for anything related to Bond. Especially October 5. The franchise is broken.
I wonder if they won't announce anything until the script is nailed down with the director and writer. I imagine they want to avoid what happened last time with Danny Boyle and John Hodge being announced before the script was finished, and them ultimately dropping out over the creative direction of that script.
Agreed. Not to mention a lot of time and money was wasted on there involvement which had to be included in the final budget.
omg.......mean nothing, and nolan has been rumerd for 6yrs now, and he is one of the worst pick to direct a bond if you hate craig like me, but u who love the craig franchine most vould love it.
