Who are ‘they’? Isn’t this less about a conspiracy of an unknown ‘they’ trying to cancel him....
But more about Kanye receive backlash like most celebrities but the backlash being enhanced due to how frequently he makes controversial moves?
Because it wasn’t the same they each time anyway. The people made over George Bush hates Black People weren’t the same who were mad at the Trump MAGA support. This is just the general public being divided over him since he’s divisive & controversial, rather than any specific group with an agenda trying to ‘cancel’ him.

It’s quite interesting to see how most people that hate on Kanye in the comments have never actually genuinely listened to his works. Many people say that he is what’s wrong with modern music but the only thing that has always has been wrong with music is how intolerant and close minded people are towards other artists. People judge artists by one song or one lyric and then go on to continuously hate on them and this isn’t just related it Kanye.
Kanye has undoubtedly been one of the most influential figures in music throughout the last 19 years and he has produced projects that will or already have gone down in history most notably My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. You don’t have to like his music but denying it’s influence or importance to hip hop is just ignorant and just proves that most people actually don’t really properly listen to most artists.
This is the same when people hate on Taylor Swift or any other artist. Do you have to like her? Of course not but her influence is extremely significant. People should start listening to music with an open mind and stop ignoring someone’s success based on “liking” or “not liking” someone’s music. That in itself is a bad way of interpreting and analysing music.

and look at all that he gave you
You asked for one and you got two“ always sends shivers down my spine. You can see through all the controversy surrounding him, seeing what a incredible family man he is.
I also think he needed that song, coping with his mother sudden death, which obvioulsy left a huge crater in him.
„No you‘re not perfect but you‘re not your mistakes“ really shows that. He knows what people think of him, that he had his fair share of missteps but needs to be reminded, by the loving voice of his mother, that they don‘t define him.

The difference between drake & Kanye’s singing-rap is that at least Kanye makes you actually feel his tragic loss of his mother and breaking off with his then long time girlfriend (in 808, donda for eg). The problem with Drake is that he only makes music for women to listen whilst driving to work and hit the clubs. Once weeks go by no one remembers drakes songs. He neither live his music or even experienced any hard ships. Kanye’s albums on the other hand makes you still cry after 15 years. That’s why drake won’t be equal to Kanye’s or MJ level. Because these guys did change the life-game as much as they did changed music-game.

My relationship with Kanye is very polarizing (over the last few years) but I try to keep the focus on the music - which has been a soundtrack to my life.
MBDTF remains arguably the best album of the 10's and Life of Pablo and Yeezus along with mbdtf truly shaped a whole decade and culture. Unfortunately Jesus is king doesn't hit home at all - both lyrically and production wise (beyond a few highlights). The erratic, narcissistic genius always had a lot to unpack and likely always will - but the current album is far from Kanye the genius and innovator.
Despite everything, you may hate him or love him (or like me struggle with this "new Kanye") you can't deny his role in music and culture - everyone has their eyes peeled on his every step, every album and every production. And even if its all downhill from here - we still got some of the best albums, music and collaborations this century (00's) thanks to Ye.

Yeezus was filled with electronic music. Almost every song was Co produced by a electronic producer.

Every track on this album is perfect and it's hard for people to accept because their favorite artists don't have the same type of album.

As complete packages: MBDTF, Watch, and Yeezus are among my very favorite albums of all time across all genres.
MBDTF easily in my top 10 and while Yeezus isn't, it instantly hooked me, and it took me almost 2 years to really come around to Watch.

So pumped for the Kanye of the 2020s. He managed to navigate unfathomable fame through the past decade, remaining relevant, prolific, focused, and above all, himself. Now, having apparently made some really great improvements since 2017, with a loving family, a strong spiritual foundation, and a plethora of ideas on how to improve our world, ideas that transcend music, I think the Kanye of this decade will establish an even more extensive legacy. I never know where it’s gonna go, but he’s definitely got that mind-state to take us to the stratosphere. So incredibly thankful for this Christian Billionaire Innovator 😂

I totally agree with him reshaping the 2010s, I also think that he allowed hip-hop to really flourish to the mainstream in the 2000s. When you listen to the hip-hop of those years, all his beats have kept their freshness.

This is more a video on "How Kanye West was shaped in the 2010s", rather than how he shaped society and culture itself in the 2010s. I expected a little more more about how his production style, content and public persona affected and helped steer pop culture and music as a whole in the 2010s, rather than a biography of him and his body of work. That being said, fantastic video though! I'll definitely be watching the rest in your series!

2010s Era of Hip Hop will go down as the MOST polarizing Era of Hip EVER. It's such a mixed & controversial time for it and it has a huge subgenre problem.

  • @DCMarvelMultiverse

He is Rap's Bowie. And, people, you must understand, geniuses are CRAZY! And it's revolutionary that Kanye, an African American, openly speaks of mentall illness. he speaks out against Black Homophobia. He exposed Taylor Swift (or, rather, his wife did). Yet, he goes all Trumptard. He also gives himself character names and epochs in a way reminiscent yet different from Bowie. This current period is parallel to Bowie's Thin White Duke Era. All the while doing his own music. Actual music!
