“Is the revolution around the corner? I effing hope so!”
Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters returns to Useful Idiots as bold and funny as ever, with takes on the UK’s new “self-serving Nazi” Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the meaninglessness of the Trump assassination attempt, the real devastation happening everyday in Gaza, Julian Assange, and so much more.
Roger laments that our leaders are “Joe Biden, who thinks he rules the world” and “Keir Starmer, who's a self-serving, career Nazi. They would do anything, tell any lie, adopt any position that can give them power and influence.”
Waters asks what would have happened if the assassination attempt on Trump had been successful: “Nothing. There'd be another puppet there instead. It doesn't make any difference.”
Which is why Roger believes working hard to get these people, Trump and Biden, out of office is so important. “You have an opportunity now to take part in the existential battle for the human soul that Aaron and Katie and I and millions, billions of people all over the world are engaged in. Because we care about right and wrong and we care about human rights and we care about our brothers and sisters.”
And if we don’t? “We are heading towards World War Three very, very fast.”
Last week, Aaron appeared on Piers Morgan in a debate with two very angry Zionists. The week before, Roger debated Piers himself. The two trade stories of the frustrating environment and how blatant lies (beheaded babies, evidence-less sexual assault of Israeli women), and propaganda (the covering up of Israel’s mass violence of its own people on October 7th) are being shoved down our throats.
“People on this issue just repeat again and again claims that have been debunked. They've been doing it since Joseph Goebbels and Herman Goering suggested it in the late 1930s. The bigger the lie you tell, the better it is. You just have to keep repeating it.”
Subscribe to hear the full interview with Roger Waters where he shares stories of his meeting with Julian Assange, a song from his upcoming album, the fascist uniform he wears for his live shows, and what he does every day to make a difference in the world.
“It's not easy. We all of us wake up in the morning and burst into tears, and then think ‘All right pull yourself together you big lunk. There's work to be done.’ And we think what can I do today to to make a difference? However tiny it is, what can I do today that is not standing by, silent and indifferent? What can I do?”

I first saw Roger “live” in seventy five.
The experience changed the trajectory of my life.
Decades later my progeny came to appreciate Roger’s music and messages, and became fellow acolytes.
    Some still actively.
    Some more passively.
All anti war, anti military, and presently anti genocide.
Glad you’re still around, creating and spreading enlightenment and enthusiasm.
Love your reissue of “Dark Side”, and reflect with “Under The Rubble”.
It’s difficult for me to select my all time favorite musician, but Roger is ALWAYS in the conversation.

If God had taken Roger before age 70 and also Britney Spears and Katy Perry and Kanye West and gave us back Neil Peart, Rick Wright, Eddie Van Halen and Chris Squire I would be happy.
Neil suffered worse than Roger. Try losing a wife and daughter and bounce back and live with grace and poise and was robbed of his golden years by tendonitis and brain cancer. Eddie was beating cancer and COVID-19 happened and he got a stroke and died. Chris had leukemia and was robbed. Rick had cancer beaten and it came back and devoured him unexpectedly.

There was an incident in Yemen that moved many, and it was when 40 school children were killed in a bus by a bomb or missile delivered by the United States.
But Roger Waters' clear passion and his ability to put feelings and thoughts into words is also something that moves us and is a gift to humanity.

That happened more than just once. Plus, like four hospitals that were bombed-hospitals that sponsored "Doctors Without Borders," some of those doctors were killed in that bombing. And wedding parties. And funerals. Over 10,000 children contracted cholera.
Yemen was primarily ignored by the mainstream media for over 10 years.
It began during Obama's time in office.
This was his only way to regain some of his "legacy," which he can't actually get because WE ALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENED!

remember in the 80's when various artists like Peter Gabriel were writing protest songs against Apartheid in South Africa (Biko) etc. and the album Sun City by Artists United Against Apartheid (Steven Van Zandt, Miles Davis, Dylan, Jackson Browne and many others). Where is the movement of artists against Genocide?? seems it would be a no brainer.
Where are the artists of today?? Currently, everyone seems to be scared to be labeled as an anti-semite. What a fantastic album it would be to get all the contemporary musicians of today with the old guard like Waters, Springsteen and others. The self censorship from the artistic community on this topic is mind boggling. If anyone can get the artists together on this, it would be the bursting of the dam. I'm sure there are many Artists that privately feel that Israel is committing Genocide but are afraid to do it alone. That's why a huge group is the way to go.
Van Zandt started without any support and kept contacting people until it became unstoppable. Can this happen again?

Roger Waters changed my life the first time I listened to the music in my mother's womb. And when I was able to remember Dark Side of the Moon as my dad and uncle played the album over and over when it came out. I knew I was a true person of the Floyd. Then in 77 as a lad my dad and uncle took me to see them live at soldiers field. Then as a teen I saw the Pros and Cons tour and it blew me away till this day on. I even went to see CA IRA and that was amazing to see and I'm not a fan of opera music. Keep going strong Roger can't wait to see you on your next adventure.

I love the life of being alive at the time of knowing a great musician / human being / politician with a great mind and heart as Roger Waters and Pink Floyd. They don’t make this kind of human being that many. Roger’s Dad and mom cannot be more proud of this creativity. Honor to know and be able to listen and go to his gigs whenever and wherever before my time and his is up. Long live Sir Roger Waters. England can’t be more proud of its son.

3:50-4:05 Reminds me of when he had a short beef with Thom Yorke of Radiohead. Roger was humbly trying to reminds him in objection to his band's intention to have a concert in Tel Aviv, and even inviting him for a moment of dialogue re: the boycott thing. He did this **three times** by phone, but ended up with spiteful rejection from Thom instead.. 😬😬

I'm more aware of Roger's activism now rather than his music but it's great that Roger's political passions have been more focused since the mid 1970's. At the very least Roger has helped make young people think about society, politics and life and that's all you can ask. After that it's their choice what to do.

2:14 Re: that part, it's kind of unfortunate yet unsurprising that the Pink Floyd fanbase has been split between the so-called "PF purists", who tend to side with or even cheer David's POV, and those who stand by the left-wing values that Roger tried to instill in the original band but chose to keep it for himself alone. I'm glad I ended up siding with Roger instead, and still am today 😌😌

Neil Peart of Rush was a better lyricist than Roger as he got older. Roger on his own is too wordy. He needed the others, they needed each other. Dennis DeYoung of Styx said it “They needed me, I needed them, we needed each other”.

@@TJR-ClassicRockCorner0124 You're going off-topic there, sir. This ain't no Rick Beato video and my comment is definitely politically charged and biased. I was talking about the reality of political conviction among major musical acts, specifically noting the unfortunate divide of Pink Floyd fanbase just because many fans disregard Roger's interest in politics as a "sheer pomposity". Plus, I respect Neil Peart as a musician first and foremost, but his Randian obsession is a deal breaker for me.
