- Steele Creek GNCC at round 3 and I am riding the Open A class. It was a little dusty on Saturday for the atv race but a light overnight shower made conditions perfect.

It doesn’t sound like it but it was hard to see your hand. Are you running an Auto Clutch? I don’t prefer them myself but I’ve been racing 3 years and finally moving up to A class (local) after this season and wanted to see if anyone was actually running one on a 2 stroke.
A. Lance no I personally don’t. I’ve rode one with an auto clutch and just didn’t like it. On the other hand I know people that go fast with them though
When Russell Baylor and Duvall came by you how long did you stick with them? Did you try? And were you intimidated by their speed or encouraged?
Umm about 3 corners or so lol. I tried a little but by that time I was pretty gassed. Somewhere in-between of the two😂 Like how does that even work but wow that's cool as they are going by

Shane watts says they really do help. Enough said. But only time in the saddle will truly help arm(hand) pump. And I mean a full year of hard riding with many hours on bike.
Good riding mate! But I think you would have been a lot better on a 300 against the four strokes, being able to ride that taller gear and tractor out is everything, still good riding the YZ though mate

Noah, when the four strokes came out I was still going up against them with the 250 YZ. I bought a KTM 300 xc-w and it rocks, change my whole riding Style. You're not on the throttle is hard at all, ride it in a taller gear and just drive hard, when I'm coming up on people they don't even hear me, just drive and keeping momentum checking out! You should go look at one of the new tpi's 300 I don't think you'll be disappointed, mate again nice Rockin That YZ brother man
He is a talented Ryder... However, he's way too cautious.... Three guys passed him in the first few minutes..... There was some really good riding though

At the begging heard the announcer say , Nick Obryant , Levi Keller. I’ve raced abunch with Levi & slopko years ago on 85s. Nick was racing 50s back then. I raced a team race with his older brother.. good riders, wish I coulda stayed in it

Got a 07 250sx that I’m doing, been torn apart in my apartment for a few months.,. Can’t wait to finish it. Nick used to be shoulder high to me, now he races the pro class here locally. I raced once last fall and they were all there, got lapped 🤷🏻♂️🤭 4 years off will do that I guess.
Yeah time off does that to ya. Sounds like that bike will be cool though man
9th in open class is great! Had to look at the results to see where my rivals ended up lol. I wouldn’t get 9th in the B class 😂 if you get the chance to wreck Ryan slopko take him out for me! ;)

Good racing. Only thing id say to work on is your gopro settings. The pixelation every few seconds was making this hard to watch.

Yeah most of the people have to duck to get under there. A couple years ago I scratched a brand new helmet up on it😂😭

So what did you learn Noah? Cardio cardio cardio! 3 hours will get ya huh? Try 100 push ups a day (weekdays only) and 10 hours per week on a mountain bicycle for a year, plus all your normal riding practice. The push ups can be sets of twenty. Hydration is also more important here........ which you know. And eat more bananas.

C. MACHINE ELIGIBILITY AND CLASSIFICATION:
BIKES
a. Open: 251cc and over single cylinder bike engine, so long as the cylinder is stamped with the correct engine displacement. A 250cc machine is NOT eligible for the Open class.
HarveyT33 thanks man. Yeah I didn’t know that until after the race but you’d think it wouldn’t matter because it’s a smaller bike🤔 I guess rules are rules though!
NoahClark32 I could be wrong but I don’t think he’s right. Don’t gncc have an A250 class? So when they’re saying 251 and over they’re meaning you can ride bikes like 300’s. Whereas in 250 it’s 250 and under. No ones gonna get mad for you riding a 125 in the 250 class so why would it be an issue to ride a 250 in the open class filled with 450’s and 300’s?

This is kinda for anyone who has an opinion, but I'm looking into getting into this type of racing for the first time and wondered if anyone had any tips for first time racers.
JakeTheLittleSnake stoked you are getting into it man! I would just say have fun and if you need anything at the race or track, there is a lot of people willing to help! Every race you’ll get better and better🤘🏽
Have fun! Dont worry about where you place, just try to finish the race. Hydrate days before
Step #1 Join the AMA #2 learn your local district. #3 ride your local district hairscrambles to see if you really like it. #4 go to all GNCC races you can afford.
