Took me a while to figure this out. For anyone having trouble figuring out the ''Alt'' part, this is for people using CS4 and CS5. What he's doing is basically creating a clipping mask. The way he does it however, is only available through CS6. What you want to do, instead of creating a group, select the two layers, right click and select convert to smart object. Add the galaxy image (or whatever you want to use), make sure the galaxy image is above the two layers we just merged, then right click the galaxy image, select create clipping mask.
You're a very good teacher although you don't talk but you zoom out what your cursor is pointing to , so the viewer will learn what you are teaching, hope you feature more videos on graphic design, logo design and animation, plus background removal and photo editing. You're so good
For those people who can't figure out 8:00 deselect both layers ,hold ALT and move your cursor between those two layers,you can notice a downward arrow. p.s:- only for cs6

Hold alt, hover between the two layers, then click once. It seems like a drag and drop but it is not. It is a hold alt, then click between the two layers kind of thing.
Please help me. At the last step when I press alt and select the pic layer and drag it towards the group it wont let me do what the guy in the video does. It just makes another copy of the layer. Please anyone help me with this Ps: I have photoshop cs5 extended
