I have the 2020 Trance 2, which is the same except the groupset (SLX) and having a fox 34 float fork. The bike has performed flawlessly, I've been very happy riding down black Diamond trails on it, this bike is more capable than I am.
I am not attempting to "convince" you of anything. Also these are not my bikes or manufacturer demo bikes, they are brand new awaiting owners. I am certianly not going to be allowed to make a "new" bike "used"
Also a big fan of the Giant Trance, my son's each have the 2019 version of this bike, geometry is still the same, drivetrain is different but still quality for the price. They get ridden on local trails and the occasional bike park days, a few upgrades but really pleased with them.
Currently have the Anthem SX in 27.5 which is very similar and I love it. If I lost my bike today, this one would be on my short list to replace it. It’s an excellent value.
This was a great review! I used to ride a hardtail and bought this in large a few months ago. It's been pretty incredible so far and has taken everything I've thrown it at. I swapped out the grips for some ESI extra chunkys since I like the extra cushion, and trails have never been smoother. I dig the basic all-black with a couple glossy sections paint job too.
Enjoyed the review! Would this bike be considered to be overbiked for local rooty singletrack with some small drops? Would the less expensive Stance be a better entry into one's full suspension bike for this type of terrain?
Still holding onto and frequently ride my 2018 Trance. Took it on TWE in Moab last year and it did great. I own a Ripmo now, but I still like the nimble plush trance from time to time.
I have an ‘09 x1 thats was ridden hard and is still one of my favorites i love the super reliable maestro linkage so I bought a ‘16 adv. 1 carbon 27.5 an absolute rocket at 27lbs, so fun with the confidence to just floor it everywhere
I got a 2021 at the beginning of the year and love it. I've done a few thinking's to my liking. I've done spoon spank 40mm highrise bars XT derailleur, 2.6 EXO+ Assegai and a 170mm lyric.
The thing is, for the same price i would rather get a used older bike, with better components. As long as they have been properly serviced, they age nicely.

That’s what I did. Picked up a 2019 Trance 2 in April for almost half what it cost new. Been very happy with the bike so far.

@@lee.j7077 Wrong, it came out 2017 and is still a great bike. Giant concentrating on their 29’r lineup so if you want other geometry look there
