Great retirement plan Tech. So glad it's working out well for you. I too retired young at 47 but my plan was to retire to do ebay. I bought real estate when I was in my 30s so have that passive income from that and got a pension from my nursing job. I guess that's why I don't feel the need to build an empire but I do enjoy reselling cause it keeps me busy and it's fun. I'm glad you came out of the shadows and into the youtube light. You're a blessing to those of us who want to work smarter not harder. Thanks for sharing your wisdom.
I got my first $1k+ sale yesterday. Item took 1 day to sell & I got it for only $5 at a garage sale on Saturday 🤯. Listed for $1500, buyer paid $1350 + calculated shipping, I walked away with $1153 in profit after shipping and fees.
Thank you Tech for all your advice. I feel like it's very nice of you to share your thoughts, secrets, ideas, strategies with us. (Born & Raised in South Florida too!)
Could sit and hang with you all day big dawg. Some of my fav memories these past few years is listening to your Tuesday calls while sourcing. You are da man 💪
I know you say that there's nothing to learn from going to a flea market that you're the president at, but I think there is value showing what you can build up to in addition to the traveling to build new connections and showing how to build it from the ground up. You could even merge two into one video showing how to build the connections and what it's like once you got ALL the connections Mr. President. Thanks as always for the live call, love rewatching the replays.
Inventory - $18,758.72 2,953 items If someone came up to me today and said they'd give me $20k for everything no questions asked id help them load the truck right there and then.
Thanks tech for always doing what you do. Planning on joining your reseller group soon. Hoping to get out to the plant city flea market here soon. Maybe ill see you out there. 🤙
You should send the Reseller Rock thru auction just for fun. Appreciate you and your success inspires me. All the Best to you on your new venture God Bless!
I'm at the part of the video with someone asking if you answer the question if you are a reseller. I had a lady ask me yesterday at the thrift and I said yes I am as I have my cart overflowing. She said here's my card call me. I have an entire closet full of named brand clothes and shoes never worn. I was excited, but a little scared, because people want to sell either super cheap or they want store prices for their stuff. I guess it doesn't hurt to go check it out and see where her mind is at kind of like American Pickers right? I looked her up and she and her husband own a real estate company. The point is, I'm sure she wears super nice clothes and so does he. I don't want to go in there and she starts telling me she's selling her coach shoes for $30 because Ebay sells them for $40, you know? 🤨
It is worth checking out cause she likely has a lot more than clothes. I’m a realtor & reseller, I started it when clients started telling me to empty out houses or sometimes the kids would take over their parents house and they would pick out a few items they wanted and tell me to junk the rest or to literally keep it. My garage was getting packed with free stuff and someone gave me the idea to resell back in 2021. I did it not to become a millionaire by any means, but if I could make an extra $300 a week I would be happy. That would cover gas, give me extra money for bingo, pay utilities, or car insurance cause that shits gotten expensive. My husband wants me to scale my business to where it will cover all the bills including the mortgage and make this my job full time. We’re at ends and can’t see eye to eye on this part yet because when I enjoy something it’s easy to do but when you take that enjoyment away it’s harder to do and I don’t think he understands that. 😅 My ❤ is forever is real estate but I would be lieing if I didn’t say that due to the high interest rates my annual income went from a 6 figure income and doing 6+ deals a month to 2024 im lucky if I get 2 deals a month and I’m projecting a 5 figure annual income with my real estate career. This number is only based on traditional deals such as helping clients buy & sell. This doesn’t include investments or rentals. Most of my colleagues have sold more than half of their air bnb portfolios. So I’ve had to do creative deals in order to make up the difference in loss of income and find ways around having to pay my broker fees cause they charge us fees per deal and they get that from our commission and those fees have gone up to everywhere. I’ll set up a consultation fee or referral fee other RE professionals can pay to my LLC instead of to me directly. Right now Sub 2 deals are popular especially with the increase of people getting behind in their mortgages or facing foreclosure. So anywho I kind of trailed off, but I also sell candies on TikTok and that I do for fun and make extra side $$ there. My point is realtors are great friends to have in reselling they come across things all the time and since we usually work weekends we don’t have time to do yard sales so the stuff keeps piling up. I’m sure plenty of realtors are looking for extra side cash to make up their loss in income so doesn’t hurt to ask. 💯🔥
Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and knowledge. Big ups! Pretty sure we met at a festival the Beasty Boys were doing their thing. Man that was a minute ago now. Welcome to the Future!
They just played at the one I’m thinking of. There were tons of other acts. You scooped gear from us last day as we were packing up. Could be someone else that looks like you that was selling clothes and wanted wholesale. My mistake if so.
I’m a small beginner part time reseller. About your mother’s age. You mentioned that she posted 5 or 10 a day. How did that go for her? She’s lucky to have a great teacher, you!! If you do travel to west coast, I assume there are lots of resellers here who would like to meet with you. I hope I can join in. Thank you
Thank you for all the great information! I have been a clothing seller for the past few years and I just went full time last year. I want to increase summer sales. Should I increase my promoted rate of 4.1% or should I increase my coupon of 10%? Not sure which would be more effective. Thank you again for everything. I love watching and learning from your videos.
What! Your only 40! Your just a young spring chicken, lol. You got many great year's to live and enjoy life. Your living the dream. Thanks for helping everyone looking up to get to your level
When doing your bookkeeping for cash purchases at the flea market, are you basically putting the entire purchase price of the item as including sales tax? So the sales tax would be baked in with the purchase price? Or are you claiming no tax paid, and possibly have to pay the tax later? I’m not really sure how this works. For example, if you bought something from the flea market for $50, are you writing in the books “Item cost $47.17, Sales tax $2.83” Or are you writing in the books “Item cost $50, Sales tax $0” Sorry if this is a technical and confusing question. I hope it made sense
You will have to ask your professional about this. I am not licensed or approved to give advice about this. Sales tax is on the seller to report. So for the vendor it's baked in if it's $2 flat. Do they pay? Not sure.
@@technsports Good call. I’ll definitely ask a CPA about this and get more clarification. Taxes can become so complicated sometimes 😅 Thanks for the help!
I believe he puts measurements and flaws only in photos. Typing out unique and descriptive details for every single item eats up time. It's really not super necessary for roughly inexpensive items, like under $50 or so. And buyers can return things even with every flaw described and photographed. He probably just used a generic text template for different types of items.
Hello, I have stopped thrifting to catch up on my deathpile (which is a lot). Do you recommend to hold off on thrifting or just thrift less? Thank you!
I sell pure Silk items, it's really unsuccessful. However at times I have bought a piece of silk for £1 and sold it for £100. Most people in my opinion sell Pure Silk too cheap. My average Silk clothing items is £4.
How do you make any money? I sold jeans for 19.99 and 9.99 shipping. After fees and shipping, I grossed 11.01. I did the promoted thing and it cost 3.45ish. so even if I didnt do the promotion, I would still have nade less than 15.00, still owing taxes. And I got the jeans free, which would have cost at least $5. So how do you make real money?

You can assume they want full retail and never go or you can actually go and check it out. Be upfront, you need to make money and have margin.

Find items that sell for more than $19.99 & don't need a bunch of promotions or sell more $19.99 items and do more volume
