My first Harley ever was a 93 FXR Black. I also owned a First Year Evo FXR 1984 with a chain bath and dry clutch with oiler. Sold it to a Guy in England and shipped it off. Currently I own a 1984 FXSTS EVO. All original with no scratches. Black. Also I have a 2005 XL1200c super fast and fun bike. My wife loves the Springer as it is not so fast at all but still fun and very therapeutic. Enjoy the ride.
I have a very similar 1991 FXLR I bought new. Went to the Harley dealer last weekend and prefer these to anything new on the showroom floor. The pipe on this sounds really nice and mellow. I have stock exhaust still and haven't bought a 2 into 1 due to noise. Its sounds like the V@H on this FXLR is not too loud, I may have to get one.

Beautiful bike. Classy looking. You can't ever go wrong Vance and Hines performance mufflers. Terry Vance and Byron Hines will always be Racing Legends IMHO. I have fond childhood memories, of watching Terry race on television with my Dad. God Bless.

Shame that the 'backlash' when letting off the throttle disappeared with the twincam efi.. thats the sound I grew up with. Not loving my '05 fxdli sound because of that
