+DyaniNC The Justice Department and the Attorneys General ARE under his jurisdiction in the executive branch. Too bad they don't teach Civics any more or you'd have known that. LOL Just like when Bush sacked all those judges that he felt weren't towing the party line. He's their boss. He calls the shots on what the justice department will focus it's energies. And Obama's gone after whistler blowers much more than Bush ever did, and Bush also HAD the Patriot Act too.
***** Even though I am majoring in molecular biology, I still made an A in political science. So I DID learn about the functions of the different branches of government, thank you. :P I was referring to the fact that Obama has only been continuing what the presidents have done before him. Many people have expressed doubt that any single president could change that pattern by themselves. At least without massive support from the people.
+DyaniNC that's where you are wrong. The Obama administration has prosecuted SIGNIFICANTLY more whistle blowers than the Bush administration (or ANY administration) Just as he deported more people than Bush. Facts are ...facts. Hey, I'm NOT an Obama hater, I volunteered for his election campaign But to say I'm disappointed in him is an understatement..BTW My BS degree was a double major in Chem/Bio.
Charges be lessened? NO. No charges should be upheld in this case. It is NEVER illegal to point out a government entity breaking constitutional law. It doesn't matter what laws are in place to codify the illegal means by which the NSA operated, constitutional law overrules those and is the SUPREME LAW OF THE LAND. It's a very simple concept that the government is trying to convince you doesn't exist.
I agree with what Bernie said, but my days it's easy to see why he didn't get the Democratic nomination... He may be a nice person and have good ethics, but he is Not a good communicator... he doesn't talk with any kind of interest in anything, and his pace and delivery are not good. But he would've been a 100% better President than Trump though...
We all need to speak up and STOP Obama's persecution of whistle blowers.
+Tim Kiehl It's not Obama's prosecution. It's the government's. Anyway, the Patriot Act is a republican creation.

I think Snowden should just get a pardon. But Bernie's stance is arguably the best on Snowden of any of the current candidates.
Stein wants to pardon him completely tho...
Rick Edwards Yeah? Well, since hes out of the race anyway I was already planning on voting for Jill anyway.
Tulsi would pardon all whistleblowers. Has Bernie gotten any better on this stance? What he said is not nearly good enough.
One more reason that I think Bernie should lead this country.
He isn't allowed to enter a public interest defense in a trial by his peers, that's the problem.
Feel the Bern!!!!! I cant wait till President Sanders takes office. Middle class and proud!
Still waiting…
Bernie Sanders should be president.
God I love Bernie
Edward Snowden - jury nullification, simple as that!
what a shame Americans missed a potentially good president
Trump will pardon Sheriff Joe Arpaio but he will not pardon Edward Snowden, what a shame!
Ron Paul is right THERE IS NO FOURTH AMENDMENT ANYMORE!
EH'NT!!!! WRONG BERNIE!!! NOW WE KNOW HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT ASSANGE!
