Probably the original superhero (or in this case antihero) case where the title is just that, a title that can live for many years with different people filling the role. Batman, Zorro, Dread pirate Roberts, Blackbeard, etc.... Real or fake cases of empires being built not based off of one man, but the legend. I really hope they come out with a futuristic Batman Beyond movie..

It's interesting that despite being freed from the title of Dread Pirate Roberts he still wanted to find an heir for the title. He genuinely cared for the previous title owner and choses to keep the myth alive out of respect.
