    That would be really nice if you made a color mixing book that we could actually mix/swatch in the book.

    Im sure you already a answered this question, but, WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NAPLES, YELLOW AND THE LEMON YELLOW

    • @TheArtSherpa
      @TheArtSherpa  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sorry for the big answer but it does show the yellow was creating a lot of confusion. I will share a visual color resource below. Titanate Yellow (sometimes Naples Yellow Light) Naples Yellow and Lemon Yellow are two different shades of yellow used by artists, and each has its distinct characteristics:
      Naples Yellow: This color is a warm, earthy, and muted yellow shade with a slight orange or brownish undertone. It has been used in art since ancient times and is traditionally made from a combination of lead antimoniate and lead antimonate oxide. However, due to the toxic nature of lead, modern Naples Yellow pigments are typically created using a blend of non-toxic synthetic pigments, such as PY42 (Yellow Iron Oxide) or PY53 (Nickel Titanate Yellow). Naples Yellow is an opaque pigment and is excellent for creating a range of natural-looking colors, particularly for landscape and portrait paintings
      Titanate Yellow: Titanate Yellow, also known as Nickel Titanate Yellow, is a pale and muted yellow shade with a slightly greenish undertone. It is a synthetic, inorganic pigment with the color index PY53. This pigment is known for its excellent lightfastness, opacity, and stability, which makes it suitable for various applications in the art world. Titanate Yellow is often used in landscape and portrait paintings for creating natural-looking colors and subtle highlights.
      Lemon Yellow: Lemon Yellow is a bright, cool shade of yellow with a greenish undertone. It is often used to represent sunlight or to add vibrancy to a painting. In modern formulations, Lemon Yellow is usually made from synthetic pigments such as PY3 (Hansa Yellow) or PY184 (Bismuth Vanadate Yellow), which are known for their transparency and high tinting strength. Lemon Yellow is ideal for mixing with other colors to create bright, lively hues and is particularly well-suited for abstract, modern, or impressionistic art styles.
      In summary, the main differences between Titanate Yellow and Lemon Yellow lie in their undertones, opacity, and typical usage. Titanate Yellow has a pale, muted tone and is opaque, while Lemon Yellow is a cool, vibrant color with transparency. goldenhub.goldenpaints.com/storage/uploads/cool-to-warm-order-for-golden-heavy-body-acrylics.pdf

    Hi Cinnamon! Hope you're feeling much, much better. I have a question.
    WHAT KIND OF YELLOW IS LIQUITEX'S YELLOW AZO? I got it in a kit, but I'm not sure about it.
    THANK YOU.

    • @TheArtSherpa
      @TheArtSherpa  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yellow Azo is a Warm yellow with little green and some artists use it when they dont want to use Cadmium. Yellow Azo pigments can be found under different names depending on the specific pigment used. Some examples include Azo Yellow, Diarylide Yellow, or Hansa Yellow. Each variant may have slightly different properties, such as hue, transparency, and tinting strength, but they generally share the same vibrant yellow color and lightfastness characteristic of azo pigments.
      When selecting paints, it's essential to look for pigment information on the packaging or product descriptions to ensure you're getting the desired color and properties. Some paint companies event swatch on the tube!

    Cinnamon...today I completed "how to mix colors in acrylic. I also completed "How to use the color wheel"; "tint, tone, and shade"; "Sherpa guide to primary colors and color mixing" ( using your "split primary 8 colors with black and white, and convenience colors); Sherpa color schemes-labels-using color wheel. I have 5 completed acrylic papers with all my notes around my color swats! I will use these for each painting I do and never paint without my color wheel again! I am happily exhausted after all this, but will paint happily from now on knowing that I finally know what I NEED to know about colors! I know you are probably exhausted too even while going through Acrylic April and moving to Ireland in the middle of all this! God bless and be with you and your family through all this as moving is hard enough, but moving across the seas is something else! I just want to thank you for how awesome you teach and how much you care about us!

      Thank you so much for your kind and heartfelt comment! It's incredibly rewarding to hear that you've found my lessons on color mixing, color wheels, and color theory helpful. Between me and Mom you have all the color classes to dip your brush into. Your dedication to learning and creating your own color swatches is truly inspiring, and I'm sure this will have a significant impact on your future paintings.
      It's always a pleasure to share my passion for art with others, and knowing that it's making a difference for you means the world to me. Yes, Acrylic April and the move to Ireland have been quite the adventure, but your warm words and the support from our amazing community make it all worthwhile.
      Let the colors guide you on your artistic journey. I'm here to help you every step of the way.

    HI THERE, I JUST LOVE YOUR TUTORIALS, YOU HAVE THE GIFT OF BEING A VERY GOOD TEACHER. I JUST WANTED TO KNOW WHY WHEN I WATCH YOU MIX YOUR COLORS ON THE PALETTE ITS NOTHING LIKE WHAT COMES OUT ON THE CANVAS, OR IN THIS CASE YOUR COLOR MIXING CHART SWATCH PAGE ?

    • @TheArtSherpa
      @TheArtSherpa  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there! Thank you for your kind words, and I'm glad you enjoy the tutorials. The discrepancy you're noticing between the color mixing on the palette and the final result on the canvas or color mixing chart swatch page is likely due to the camera lenses and lighting conditions used during the filming of the show.
      OK I am going to get a little youtubery here but I think at the end you will understand all the factors at play :
      Different camera lenses can affect the color reproduction, contrast, and sharpness of the recorded video. Additionally, lighting conditions in the studio, such as the type, angle, and color temperature of the lights, can impact how the colors appear on-screen.
      In our show, we strive to provide the best possible representation of the colors being used. However, it can be challenging to reproduce the exact colors on-screen due to the limitations of camera technology and varying screen displays. Keep in mind that the colors you see on your screen may also differ slightly from the actual colors due to the color settings and calibration of your device's display.
      We recommend using the videos as a guide to help you understand the process of color mixing, but it's essential to practice and experiment with the colors yourself to achieve the desired results on your canvas or color mixing chart. This hands-on experience will give you a better understanding of how the colors interact with each other and how they appear in real life.
