    Nick seems like such a sweet person to me. it makes me so happy to see him get so excited about disney movies,and other stuff including this show.. it makes me happy how his online persona is such a sweetheart,i like to believe he's like that in real life,haha. i like to see these reactions, because
    this show is sthg i first saw 20 years ago.... so i get to see it through a new perspective today. Also my own opinions on this show have changed and i'm glad Nick and Cody do not just bIindIy follow anything the writers back then thought was okay :)

    4:49 I have a family history and was born with glaucoma. My grandfather, dad, brother and son all also had or currently have it. It's when fluid builds up behind the optic nerve which increases your eye pressure. Normal is 12, but mine hovers near 20 most of the time. My brother and I both lost an eye to it and when they removed his eye his pressure was 50!

      @egefluff they're watching it for the very first time ever. when i first watched this show 20 years ago, i didnt get Joey saving his sandwich. i didnt even laugh. hey're being honest about how this experience is for them. do you want them to fake-laugh and Iie to us instead...? (However, i did laugh at - SPOILER - playing s.a. that Ross suffered, s.a. that Chandler suffered and s.a. that Ross committed, for 'comedy'.... today i fill gross at these jokes bcs i've suffered it myself.)

    • @Cairo198
      @Cairo198 6 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      @egefluff i enjoyed the british IT crowd or old Mr Bean episodes, and i've seen quite a few very funny parts of Seinfeld here on YT. on Seinfeld, however,the actions of the characters are being clearly judged by the show itself, whereas on Friends, the show seems to expect us to agree with
      the characters much more often. But me enjoying all these comedies doesn't mean i have to pretend to take everything as funny just to please other people. I love Friends but i do not agree with everything the writers seem to be saying, or every joke. These guys are allowed to have their own reactions, and i'm sure they'd enjoy parts or most of Seinfeld or The Office. but maybe not all. I prefer How I Met Your Mother to Friends, and I simply love The Good Place and Ted lasso. sue me.

Though I would recommend "3rd Rock From the Sun" & "Coupling" first since I find those to be better written sitcoms. I wish people hadn't made you feel like you have to apologize every time you do something or say something re this show. People shouldn't be so judgy; everybody experiences a TV show their own way.
    The Rachel storyline in this one is just exactly how I behave with this stuff i. It took me until I was in my thirties to figure out how to put in eye drops, I can't sit still for that glaucoma machine, and if anybody has any eye touching going on even in a movie I have to leave the room, so I feel for her in this one. I would have felt so violated if my friends jumped on me like that and forced me to have eye drops!

    I had a very similar eye exam to Rachel when I was about 6 years old where they wanted to do the glaucoma test, but I was so afraid/bothered by the puff of air that I kept closing my eyes or jerking my head away. Finally I started crying and the doctor said I was probably too young to have glaucoma anyway and we didn't have to do the test. I looked it up, and the type of glaucoma they look for with that test takes years to develop, which is why most health authorities recommend they begin testing for it around 40 years of age. I don't know why they even bothered me with it at 6 years old. Seems like doing unnecessary (and scary) medical tests on young children would be a good way to create fearful, medically hesitant adult patients.

      @@Cairo198 Yeah. I know it’s fairly common for characters to become less dimensional as a series goes on - “Flanderization” - but Joey’s especially annoyed me. I did the glaucoma test with the puff of air back in 2019. it's not so bad. Now it's a drop in your eye, and the dr shines a light in your eye up close.
    And glacouma is a condition/illness that damages the nerve from the eye to the brain and causes blindness.

      nah it’s a completely valid criticism when jokes meant entirely as jokes and not character moments affect their reaction. Like them getting overly annoyed at the girls for switching the apartments back. Don’t think we should be promoting the unhealthy attachment to fictional characters

    • @BymonialShreddee
      @BymonialShreddee 20 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +4

      @@jinxysaberkHave to disagree. Just because something is taken as a comical moment doesn’t mean you have to take it that way. Every moment can be judged on this show, most people choose not too. But if Nick and Cody take 3-4 moments out of the 100+ episodes and get overly serious that’s their prerogative. Most episodes they seem to be fine, and even though I do agree the apartment situation they took too seriously, that’s how they interpreted the situation. Just because something is played for laughs doesn’t mean everyone is going to feel that way. And as for promoting an unhealthy attachment to fictional characters, that is ludicrous to me. Anyone can care about a character as much as you want. Obviously I have never been invested in characters like Nick has, but that’s how he is. I try to relate but I just can't. 😆 because it’s easy for me. Btw, WITH CLEAN HANDS, you can touch the white part of your eye, it doesn’t hurt. UNLESS you press too hard. Lol. The only part that will hurt is if you touch the pupil because the pupil is like a hole in your eye.

    My mother and I watch movies all the time and we are two different personality types in terms of how we approach life, movies, shows, situations, life on a first time first impression basis. I find people break down in one of two catagories when expeirencing things in real time based on your whole essence and emotional make up. Mine is to automatically observe people and situations to pan for the potential humor of any given moment and situation. I've just always had the soul of a stand-up and have a default setting for the sense of the ridiculous. My mother's knee-jerk rorschach test reaction to anything is serious first, humor distant second. She birthed me, raised me, has known me all of my 40 something years of life and most likely knows me the best out of anybody. From day one out the womb, all I've done is a tight five opening set like I'm workshopping my act for an upcoming Netflix special. Yet, whenever I start a story that then clearly veers wildly into the theatre of the absurd that is clearly a joke, her first response is to reply back taking my humor seriously like she doesn't know where anything I dsay is going. That is a really welded in there stubburn force of will genetic firewalls to not adjust expectations of people's personality types taking everything on a case by case basis. Which is an endless source of material for me. It's our dynamic and of course the rest of my family and friends my whole life roast me saying they thought my mother was the funny one. Yeah, that's the nurturing support system that's makes ol' Pablo long for the sweet, sweet release death will bring. I mean, unconditional love! Where's my emotional support spirit pelican, Larry? Is my eye twitching? Am I crying? I can't tell anymore.
    And yes, that was all a bit there at the end. Text and comments need a studio audience or laugh track.
    The point of this all is watching reaction videos with you two reminds me of when moms and I watch stuff. You both have the instant default setting of take something at face value and our natural born literalists. The phenom for me as the opposite who looks humor first in all things as my natural inclination is it's funny when all y'all will go into a comedy and sitcom knowing it's sole objective is to make its audience laugh and immediately a character will say a line that sounds harsh and deliever it deadpan. I have mutiple examples of my mom and you two instantly responding, 'Are they serious?' And then the punchline comes. Without fail. And I love this unintential comedic timing and beat. It actually is like i'm getting two levels of comedy at once. Both of you are really engaging personalities who both bring something different to the table while meshing together beautifully. Nick is such a sweetheart and people pleaser if anybody has an issue with him, everybody knows whose at fault and it ain't Nick .He's kind to a fault so it's instinctive to protect Nick from Trolls because he's a National tresure. Cody is THAT guy. He's Like the Steven Hyde from That 70's Show of this duo. Only with way more empathy and Cody has code of conduct and strong vibe morality vibe (you too Nick). The main difference between you two is Cody gives off that whole take it of leave it vibe. He seems social and accomidating, but he's also not going to take anybody's crap and able to walk away and not another F was given. Cody is the muscle. lol.
    The plot twist here for me is I unconsciously seek out people and friends who are more serious minded automatically I believe as a jokester I never want yes men or curtousy laughers in my inner circle. Otherwise, I could never really trust if my humor was really funny or not. But if you can get a serious minded person to laugh, you've accomplished something. That feels like crushed a sold out statium because y'all are harder to impress. And it means more when one does. So whenever you guys really laugh at something, it's earned. Especially when you an tell its against your better judgement. That's when you onow a show is working. Happy to hear Nick you stand talk and firm on your stance to just be yourself. We were worried you might conform which would have been ridicilous so right on. When we then started to wonder if Cody would, yerah, we stopped right there and laughed a good hearty laugh. Never a question if Cody would conform, but if he'd flip one bird or two while telling social media trolls to suck enormous hippo ass. Thanks for the 25 days of FriendsMAS, my dudes. Depression will be down this season these holidays thanks to y'all. Doing ther lord's work fellas. ;D

    I don't know how the majority of people took Chandler's whole "this isn't your big break" thing, but I was never that mad about it. First, it only came out because Chandler was being led to respond without thinking. This leads me to believe he wouldn't have said this to Joey under normal circumstances. Second, of everyone in the friend group Chandler is the one most aware and supportive of Joey and his career. He'd probably have at least some idea of show business and how it works and what is and isn't a good thing. There's also the fact that Joey and Chandler have different opinions about what is a big risk. While it's still a big opportunity for Joey, there would be things that Chandler would worry about more. Chandler at the start though still made the conscious decision to support him and go out there with him.

    So... I didn't wanna do this but some children in the comments are making me.. I hate seeing my Friend have to apologize because some of you have the emotional maturity of a walnut. so just because something is funny to one person, doesn't mean it is funny to the other people... Comedy is subjective. There are a lot of really funny moments in this show that both me and Nick loved and enjoy because we are on Season 9 on Patreon right now. I have to say though that the amount of people criticizing him and myself for how "serious" we take this show is utterly appalling and you should be ashamed of yourselves. To be honest I could care less about what y'all say about me, I could care less about the negativity. But I see how it affects Nick. Nick is one of the best friends I have ever had in my life and the way some of you treat him over the dumbest stuff makes me think you have no empathy for anyone in your lives whatsoever. Nick has always been there for me and I will always be there for him and it hurts me to see how you all make him feel the need to apologize over the way he feels. The real problem is that toxic mentality right there. Let us react how we wanna react. PERIOD. The world already has enough hate in it, so don't bring more of it here. So to those doing it, stop. Stop sending him messages with negativity in them, stop criticizing for how he feels in a show that brings him so much joy like how dare you?? Do better people, seriously.

      double standard,since we've seen both Chandler and Joey do horribIe things and i promise, ethically worse stuff is coming in the future. still love the show and your reactions. but i am not happy with how the writers sometimes make the characters way too..shady. thank you and Nick for everything, it makes me happy how his online persona is such a sweetheart,i like to believe he's like that in real life

    I don't get why it's so difficult for people to understand that something being a comedy doesn't mean the plots, characters, and relationships can't also be something you take "seriously". Is this an American thing? As a non-American, everyone here takes all comedy shows super seriously, whether that's sympathising with the characters, despising the characters, or whatever else. The amount of times I've tried bringing up that a character in Friends, or some other show, did something dick-ish (not as a critique of the show, but just to talk about it) online, only to get 50 people telling me "it's comedy bro", is insane. I don't get that attitude at all.

    • @em1321

      Y'all should watch some documentaries and footage on how the episodes were written. It's a sitcom from the 90s!. Sometimes they literally added details, jokes and plot twists during filming. When a certain joke didn't work with the live audience, the writers (and sometimes actors as well) flocked right there with pens and sheets of paper, and brainstormed some ideas, which they immediately tried out on camera.

    There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with the way you two react to Friends. You both keep it really fair and you can tell that you are not actually hating on a character but just saying that they sometimes act ridiculous or frustrating. Trust me, there are a few reactors out there who completely have lost it when it comes to characters and really are hating on some of them. But you two are not amongst these reactors. These characters are not perfect, all of them make mistakes and sometimes act childish. It's okey to point that out. And you both react fair!

    Phoebe and Ross are comedic duo, the whole thing was funny. Chandler was being honest, if best friends won't do that the who will. Sensitivity is a real problem with your generation, while you shouldn't apologise for how you naturally react, but it's not okay in today's time how sensitive you lot get over a sitcom, primarily created for humour. I mean save it for a show like The Handsmaid's tale or Mad men? Not being mean, I don't think so much sensitivity is good for health and in order to exist in today's society. You guys are halfway through the sitcom, surely you must get how a sitcom works? I know there are people in the comment section saying it's ok, it's actually not. Sensitivity should not be enabled. Maybe not insert yourself in the scene and let it play out before having an opinion so you won't have to provide a defence. Again not being mean, you guys are great most of the time, but it can be frustrating. And this is my opinion. let's agree to disagree.

      @sbasi2739 this show,Friends,is a work of art. we respect it way too much to just nodd along and laugh without thinking. it deserves to be critically examined, and still stand the test of time,in many aspects. the writers deserve us to watch it seriously and appreciate it but also critique it. i do not fake my laugh. i react genuinely to this show, positively and negatively.
