    In this video, I go over the process of changing out a blade on this Evolution Tools R255 Miter Saw, one of the ‘Rage’ series of Saws by Evolution. This one has a very interesting component to be able to install blades with either a 1” or 5/8” arbor (Which is SUPER cool in my opinion). I thought it would be awesome to share with you guys about how to change this out in case you have one of these saw or are considering one due to it’s capabilities. Make sure to reach out with any questions, and check the links below to see Evolutions products!

    Nice clear video, the "reverse thread" as you call it, is exactly that, this stops the bolt from coming loose when the saw starts up.
    If it was a "normal" thread, the bolt would eventually come loose with the constant starting of the saw.

    Thanks for the tip! I just bought the R210SMS+ which will arrive tomorrow. I´ll have to check that out when I get my hands on it. One thing I have notice on these saw´s is that they chip the wood when your blade gets closer to the fence, specially if you try to cut to fast. I also saw that the Saxton blades (UK) have some blades that work with the Evolution series and come with adapter rings. For the R210SMS+ it´s the model (ref.) Saxton TCT21080TPRO which has a 25,4mm adapter ring.

    • @TheToughGuysTV
      @TheToughGuysTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve seen the wood chip issue as well, definitely need to keep it slower. When I’ve swapped to a Freud blade I’ve no longer experienced the issues

    • @redonealpha710
      @redonealpha710 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheToughGuysTV I agree, slow gets you better cuts. The adapter ring on my unit is not the same as the one on this video, so unless I get blades with adapter rings Iam stuck with the original blades. Thanks for sharing.

    Nice to know about that arbir/washer flip cuz I jus bought the 185 and was wondering about that cuz if I was stuck on 1" arbor only I woulda returned the unit. Thanks for that info but 1 little side not is that grease is not necessary since the parts all move together. 😁

    Great video thank you. Can I ask if your blade rotates smoothly when turned by hand in the direction of cut? Mine feels quite rough.

    • @TheToughGuysTV
      @TheToughGuysTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely shouldn’t feel rough, should feel smooth. Best to try and redo the blade swap. Make sure all the parts are clean! Good luck!

    so what size is that center arbor as I have been looking at a 3/8 arbor saw where most blades are 5/8 arbor holes..looks like that is what I need is that washer

    • @TheToughGuysTV
      @TheToughGuysTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This one converts from a 5/8” to a 1” arbor - also the saw itself is amazing. I think you can buy arbor adaptors online as well, but not sure if Evolution sells just that part.

  • @roadwarrior8560

    there is no positive arbour lock when changing the blade, that little stop button should drop into a positive stop surely?

  • @dontworry1568

    My blade isn't perfectly centered when lowered. Can this be adjusted?

    • @TheToughGuysTV
      @TheToughGuysTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can adjust the blade side to side, it has a bevel function so you need to loosen it and use a speed square to line up the blade.

    • @dontworry1568
      @dontworry1568 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheToughGuysTV yes, the bevel is a zero

    • @TheToughGuysTV
      @TheToughGuysTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes at “zero” isn’t exactly square - I still loosen and move it until it’s lined up on my Speed Square - good luck getting it set up!

      Try and adjustable wrench, something that you can tighten down to the outside flat edges, or whatever remains of flat edges. 👍🏻

    I got as far as removed the bolt but that black disc doesn't move at all and is like glued to the blade. In your video it just came off after you removed bolt. Strange.
