    I have never seen that locking mechanism on a circular saw. I always used a nail through the blade to keep it from spinning. 😎 Love your videos Uncle Knackahs.

It would not have occurred to me before I watched this video. Must be a southern hemisphere version of the tool! Thanks for this video!

    THANK YOU! I have a Dewalt, newbie DIY guy here, no experience. Couldn't get the $%$# blade installed, as the release wouldn't go all the way down, unable to tighten the blade. Unbelievably frustrating. After 5 different videos, FINALLY, your suggestion to "jiggle" the blade a little was the secret. Immediately it tightened, blade working perfectly. Thank you for explaining things properly for us rookies!

      @@diyforknuckleheads It's embarrassing, but I know NOTHING about tools/procedures/etc. and sometimes otherwise great videos will gloss over basics; they just assume "oh, that's too basic to even point out." I appreciate when creators don't skip this kind of thing (even sped up is fine.)

      @Pia, for the notification issues, are your app notifications enabled for TH-cam? Some mobile operating systems block app notifications by default, so it may be an operating system thing, not a TH-cam thing. To enable, you may need to go into the app notification settings in your phone's settings and enable them for the TH-cam app.
      And big +1 to the jokes and content note! Both fun and helpful!

    Hey uncleknuckle thanks for the video. I have a Ryobi R18CSP that I bought in 2021 here in New Zealand without knowing much (came with a set of 9 tools) included an 18T blade. After another video of you I learned about the amount of teeth so I went to Bunnings and bought a 40T blade but the wrong size (165mm, knuchleahead). So I'm checking and seems only Ozito brand is available with 36T at Bunnings within the 150mm size. I've checked other retailers and none of them have that size.
    Could you please share any advice? thank you in advance.

      I know it's not 40T but it will still give you a very nice cut. From memory, l have never seen a 150mm saw that comes with a 40T Blade. I'ver seen ones with 50 but they are for cutting metal.

I’m thinking of taking all the legs off and building a wooden base to attach to the underside of the lounge, which is rebated to attach a front mould or trim. Is this as simple as building a base from construction pine and allowing enough rebate to fit the trim. Any tips or advice would be sensational mate.

    Bread in captivity. Ah knackers, as the kids would say (and have said) Rodrick humour. The same as Dad jokes only no parent required. Gotta love that rain. 110mm in the rain gaugey thingo over the past two days. Lovely wifey emptied the rain water tank 2 days ago. 5000 litre tank. When we got up yesterday tank was overflowing from the outlet. There was so much rain coming down the overflow was not working - it was actually going out the inlet instead. Hard to believe.
    Back inside watching videos because cleaning up garage and doing little bits of organising around the garden shed I embarked on clean up garage not touched since when I was still surfing every day. Lots of dirt grime gunk amd rodent poo. Not hygienically clean. No gloves because I'm tough. Not tough enough: like Mrs Marsh they do get in (my finger) swollen like a balloon. Double strength antibiotics and just waiting to get back into it.

      But... I took a trip down memory lane (of your projects I need to replicate) earlier. The fishing rod holder. Came across a stack of beach rods stored way up high in the garage. I had to move them out because I set up a very high stack of el cheapo shelves to store all the extra junk we now have here. I will have to store the rods somewhere, perhaps outside against the outer wall of the (corro) garage. Will be easily accessible to carry for fishing trips to Moonee Creek (Just down the road) and neat. And cheap. My almost favourite word. Will also be safe; this is a bit of a dog haven.
      So, I have that project to move on to when I am back into it. Ta Shane.

    Worked with a carpenter for a while and he somehow put a magnet on his locking button so you didn't have to keep pressing it down, it wasn't perfect but this was years ago and with the ready availability of rare earth magnets, I'm sure someone out there can perfect it

    I would argue that if you don't already know this stuff then you shouldn't own a circular saw. I'm typing this with the last two fingers I have on my right hand. Only joking.

    My saw doesn't have a blade lock

    • @diyforknuckleheads
      @diyforknuckleheads  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Mate, look up your user manual on google and find out where the blade lock is. All saws have one as you need to be able to lock the blade to change and replace it. Good luck 🤞

  • @ccarmelo1979
    @ccarmelo1979 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was a little worried about installing the blade after reading a couple of reviews. But it was amazingly easy. Took about 1 minute. Works great th-cam.com/users/postUgkxjpBI8OOeUXib_iT7UomCrQ-uauwZJ62c . Cuts easily and is perfect for pocket cuts I needed to make for replacing some old deck boards.
