I love Dallas’s character so much....he did so much crime throughout the years and he pretty much lived that live for decades now,he’s the oldest member of the group and yet the most resistant of his life,this is a perfect moral for other criminals,if they keep doing what they are doing now they will never go back to a normal life

Coming back after 3 years, this ending still hits the feels even though it's not the TRUE ending. I remember when this shit made me feel so EMPTY, like I truly lost something close. Something I've known for a huge time to just find out, it's gone.
Even if this is the ending of payday 2... That just means someone will have to burn Beyond yesterday, or "Kataru" down... Someone will get their revenge... one way or another. I hope Payday 3 continues this storyline.

Theres just something about this ending i like a lot more than the secret one. this one feels more sad and depressing, an actual ending that makes sense. The secret ending is still good but this one leaves so many questions and curiousity, love it
Dude, I don't know if it's healthy to feel broken and lost in life seeing this. I mean, I didn't know that a cinematic showing all of our favorite heisters could make me cry, even more when I saw Jacket's tape recorder being thrown into the hole. Man, this was a hell of a game.
I loved payday 2, it was my favorite game, we all played this game since it was released, 4 years ago, to just see this ending. It's something too sad for me to see. So this is where it leads to? Bain dying, I never thought that ending would come, but its here. No more heists, no more guns, no more nothing. Wow, I just have nothing to say, this ending truly is sad... And finally, payday 2 had a story that will begin in payday 3? I don't know, but. R.I.P payday 2 and R.I.P Bain.
Think... Overkill with the No Mercy heist let something to know... No Mercy from PDTH was the beginning of Pd2, just think, they confirm about pd3... So, Try to guess what kind of new adventure will come with this ending.
I just love that attention to the details. No matter they wearing the same suits and there are a lot of people and all them under umbrellas, everyone who hit the shot is not just random guy with a mask, it's recognizable heister. He looks and acting like his character, although he is shown only for a second. No visible mistakes with the skin colour, haircut and so on. For example, 0:43 even from the back, it's so easy to recognize Wolf by his head and that maniac gait.
A few things that make me think this isn't the true ending. Dallas not throwing his mask in, him not wearing gloves as opposed to all other crew members, and Bain's grave being left open. As another person suggested, there might me a heist with Dallas and Locke where they kill the Dentist as revenge, finally revealing a cutscene where Dallas throws in his mask and properly burying Bain. Just my thoughts, still, it's crazy to see how much the gang has grown in terms of the roster. God bless Jacket, I had a helluva time with the Hotline Miami games.

to be fair he had his chicken mask before joining the gang, since 50 blessings gave it to him. that is, of course, if this is the real jacket. also, as expressed by the true ending, jacket still wants to do crime.
I feel like this is definitive ending. That other ending is more like goodbye from developers to the community (even though because of the financial issues - that's not the case), but this...This just feels serious and more connected to what Payday was in the beginning and it can perfectly be build for the 3rd one as Dallas would be new mastermind rather than Bain, even if he lacks the skill compare to Bain.
If this is all symbolic for the Crew disbanding but Payday 3 is in the works..Who’s going to be the new Crew? It’s hard to see Payday without Dallas, Hoxton, Chains, Wolf, and Houston.
I prefer the "true ending", but this one leaves so many possibilities : "Dallas doesn't throw his mask, so he's probably gonna become a ghost of some kind, so many plotholes left open with The Dentist's box and other inscriptions, and so much more". Still Bain becoming the President is cool, but it's harder to continue the story for Pay Day 3.
So what ive gathered so far is, the following people threw in their Masks: (in order as theiy appear on the character menue in the game) Chains, Houston, Hoxton, Jacket(recorder, same meaning) Bonnie, Sokol, Jiro, Bodhi, Jimmy, Sydney, Scarface,Wolf, Sangres and Duke. those are definatly done and Maskless. you can See Clover Walk away under the umbrella as Chains throws in his Mask, so shes Probably done too. there is one Mask i am not able to identify dropped after Scarface and next to Sokol, i pressume it might be Dragan, but it could be Clover who then walks away with Sokol. leaving us with: Dallas, Wick, Joy, Ethan, Hila, Rust and Maybe Dragan. Though the mast that gets thrown in before chains belongs to a Darkhaired Man, which cant be Rust so is likely Dragan. since every other candidate with Dark hair is gone already. Ethan an Hila arent Canon and therefore Out. John doesnt have anything to throw away, he controls the Police where he lives due to continental and is safe anyway. he probably didnt even appear. Leaving us with Dallas, Joy (who doesnt appear) and Rust who also seems not to appear. whereby the question is whos mask is it that gets thrown in with Sokols mask. could be dragan, could be Rust, could be Joy, could be Clover. But there you go. for anyone wondering and Theory crafters. Edit: scratched out Wolf, missed his mask at the evrey end. hes gone. Edit 2: at 0:54 yous ee a person with a Lightblue hoodie, which coudl fit Joy.
hoxton is most definitely coming back, as if his ending doesn't scream "lmao, life is fine, but something's bad gonna happen that's gonna have to get me back in the game" houston is another person who's gonna return, but rather than a heister, a contractor from his ending of opening a bar for criminals to meet at dallas has to return, although, i have a suspicion he's gonna die in payday 3 as he's getting "too old for this nonsense" and will fill the roll of bain as the leader before dying a noble death much like bain all the other heisters are extremely unlikely to return as most of them are either unknown, gave up crime, or just straight up decided to say "fuck the payday gang" and forever leave them
This ending just hits hard, seeing Dallas and the crew giving up what united them together and dedicated all of their years for the death of the biggest criminal mastermind the world has ever seen. But notheless his goal was accomplished, they did the biggest heist of all time and now Bain can finally change the world as the president of the United States.
No. This can't be it. damnit, no. After the entire community and the gang has been through with bain. I'm sure all of us veterans of the payday, from the first game, the hiest, to today feel devistated on what happened on that day. But let us all remember this, bain was... Well, Bain. He was the annoying voice in our head but in some way for us, that voice brought us comfort when the police pulled back and ran away like cowards. Bain was the one who got the gang together and started the payday series. I'm sure we can all agree that bains death was the tragic one and we can only hope for payday 3. I grabbed this game on 2017, and wasn't able to play it until I bought my gaming pc on 2017, building it on January 2018. I downloaded the game and in less than a month I bought all Ultimate Edition + H3H3 + Hotline Miami Special Edition (for Jacket), by the time of writing this I got almost 700 hours in this game. I can't belive how close I grew to the hesiters. This won't be the end, Kotaru will be stopped. Duke and Dallas won't let it slip. They'll help us decipher the secret of Baldwin, after all, we have all the relics and they don't, this can't end here, we might have lost but Kotaru didn't won. Not without the relics in the safe house. We might have lost this battle and suffered the most unexpected cassualty yet, but the war rages on, and things are tilting in our favor with all the relics in our possession.
You know, so many mysteries are in Payday 2... Maybe we already have everything to solve the Payday 2 ARG? Just like in PD:TH, only bigger. All this stuff about the Baldwin is started with the game release. ARG secret exists as long as a game. OVK probably was giving us hints all the time, but now we should have everything to solve it. Maybe now the time? It could be a key to everything! I think, community shouldn't think that it's over and just wait untill Payday 3 will release, devs will just show us the finished story and everything solves by its own, we just have to think and pay attention to the details in heists we already have.
@ToriFunFight I remember Conor Shaw saying they Overkill extended the support to Payday 2 until 2019 so we may not see Payday 3 until 2020. However I'm sure they'll be just doing tweaks and other less remarkable stuff.

Note that Dallas didn’t seem to drop his mask, my best guess is Payday 3 will be about Dallas trying to mastermind the death of the dentist and the destruction of Kataru to get revenge over Bain’s death
It's a sobering dash of realism. The Dentist, Kutaru, the Nephilim, Baldwin's Lament...they stretch long before the Payday gang. As badass as the crew is, stuff involving more-or-less kaiju is out just of their league. Even Garret is getting too much to handle, drowning Washington DC in cops and Murkywater. It's a hopeless fight, and Bain paid the price for it. All they can do now is what Bain suggested in the tape he sent the crew; get out of the game, and hope the Kutaru don't come looking for them. But seemingly, that's not going to stop Dallas from trying again.
Such a great bad ending of a video game. You did everything, but in the end you never felt complete, and now that you can't complete it anymore, there's no hope.
I'm guessing that Locke will take over Crime.Net and Dallas will form a new crew. And revenge on the Dentist is going to be the main driving force in Payday 3

Probably just a cinematic effect or something to represent the darkness/throwing all of their masks into the pit. Most likely because it added more mystery and they didn't have to have a body that had to look like Bain.

Used to think the climax was just beginning. Maybe the story would go to heists unimaginable. Something to do with the args maybe. It looked like we were starting to take the fight to a new enemy, but I guess we're just giving up then. Got 3 magic boxes with whatever the fuck's inside and it's all for nothing.

I feel like this is definitive ending. That other ending is more like goodbye from developers to the community (even though because of the financial issues - that's not the case), but this...This just feels serious and more connected to what Payday was in the beginning and it can perfectly be build for the 3rd one as Dallas would be new mastermind rather than Bain, even if he lacks the skill compare to Bain.

I prefer the "true ending", but this one leaves so many possibilities : "Dallas doesn't throw his mask, so he's probably gonna become a ghost of some kind, so many plotholes left open with The Dentist's box and other inscriptions, and so much more". Still Bain becoming the President is cool, but it's harder to continue the story for Pay Day 3.

So what ive gathered so far is, the following people threw in their Masks: (in order as theiy appear on the character menue in the game) Chains, Houston, Hoxton, Jacket(recorder, same meaning) Bonnie, Sokol, Jiro, Bodhi, Jimmy, Sydney, Scarface,Wolf, Sangres and Duke. those are definatly done and Maskless.
you can See Clover Walk away under the umbrella as Chains throws in his Mask, so shes Probably done too.
there is one Mask i am not able to identify dropped after Scarface and next to Sokol, i pressume it might be Dragan, but it could be Clover who then walks away with Sokol.
leaving us with: Dallas, Wick, Joy, Ethan, Hila, Rust and Maybe Dragan. Though the mast that gets thrown in before chains belongs to a Darkhaired Man, which cant be Rust so is likely Dragan. since every other candidate with Dark hair is gone already.
Ethan an Hila arent Canon and therefore Out.
John doesnt have anything to throw away, he controls the Police where he lives due to continental and is safe anyway. he probably didnt even appear.
Leaving us with Dallas, Joy (who doesnt appear) and Rust who also seems not to appear.
whereby the question is whos mask is it that gets thrown in with Sokols mask. could be dragan, could be Rust, could be Joy, could be Clover.

all the other heisters are extremely unlikely to return as most of them are either unknown, gave up crime, or just straight up decided to say "fuck the payday gang" and forever leave them

This ending just hits hard, seeing Dallas and the crew giving up what united them together and dedicated all of their years for the death of the biggest criminal mastermind the world has ever seen.
But notheless his goal was accomplished, they did the biggest heist of all time and now Bain can finally change the world as the president of the United States.

I'm sure all of us veterans of the payday, from the first game, the hiest, to today feel devistated on what happened on that day. But let us all remember this, bain was... Well, Bain. He was the annoying voice in our head but in some way for us, that voice brought us comfort when the police pulled back and ran away like cowards. Bain was the one who got the gang together and started the payday series. I'm sure we can all agree that bains death was the tragic one and we can only hope for payday 3. My closing remarks are this if you want to pay respects to Bain just reply to this, I just want to know how many of you miss him already. Bain rest in peace, brother

I grabbed this game on 2017, and wasn't able to play it until I bought my gaming pc on 2017, building it on January 2018. I downloaded the game and in less than a month I bought all Ultimate Edition + H3H3 + Hotline Miami Special Edition (for Jacket), by the time of writing this I got almost 700 hours in this game. I can't belive how close I grew to the hesiters. This won't be the end, Kotaru will be stopped. Duke and Dallas won't let it slip. They'll help us decipher the secret of Baldwin, after all, we have all the relics and they don't, this can't end here, we might have lost but Kotaru didn't won. Not without the relics in the safe house. We might have lost this battle and suffered the most unexpected cassualty yet, but the war rages on, and things are tilting in our favor with all the relics in our possession.
You know, so many mysteries are in Payday 2... Maybe we already have everything to solve the Payday 2 ARG? Just like in PD:TH, only bigger. All this stuff about the Baldwin is started with the game release. ARG secret exists as long as a game. OVK probably was giving us hints all the time, but now we should have everything to solve it. Maybe now the time? It could be a key to everything! I think, community shouldn't think that it's over and just wait untill Payday 3 will release, devs will just show us the finished story and everything solves by its own, we just have to think and pay attention to the details in heists we already have.
@ToriFunFight I remember Conor Shaw saying they Overkill extended the support to Payday 2 until 2019 so we may not see Payday 3 until 2020. However I'm sure they'll be just doing tweaks and other less remarkable stuff.

They really just ended it like that? Holy damn I thought we were gonna do something about the boxes, baldwin's lament, all the H.P. Lovecraft references with the temple of cthulu or whatever, and the giants, it was a good way to go but I'm kind of underwhelmed.....maybe I'm just sad to finally see my favorite heist story come to an end
Note that Dallas didn’t seem to drop his mask, my best guess is Payday 3 will be about Dallas trying to mastermind the death of the dentist and the destruction of Kataru to get revenge over Bain’s death
It's a sobering dash of realism. The Dentist, Kutaru, the Nephilim, Baldwin's Lament...they stretch long before the Payday gang. As badass as the crew is, stuff involving more-or-less kaiju is out just of their league. Even Garret is getting too much to handle, drowning Washington DC in cops and Murkywater. It's a hopeless fight, and Bain paid the price for it. All they can do now is what Bain suggested in the tape he sent the crew; get out of the game, and hope the Kutaru don't come looking for them. But seemingly, that's not going to stop Dallas from trying again.

In this scene, It powerful enough made us cry because of one grave. Imagine millions of cops and special forces graves that we causes to their families and friends.
Used to think the climax was just beginning. Maybe the story would go to heists unimaginable. Something to do with the args maybe. It looked like we were starting to take the fight to a new enemy, but I guess we're just giving up then. Got 3 magic boxes with whatever the fuck's inside and it's all for nothing.
Well Dallas and locke appear to be up to something, so i guess they'll recruit a new team in payday 3 to take down the dentist?
