I like how it's more foreboding than sad. It makes it feel like they actually lost something instead of feel sappy. And also Dallas's face was great. He had a look of "was this all worth it?" He didn't look sad, just out of touch and numb. Subtle but amazing acting.
If you talk with dallas in the safe house he seems kinda depressed. The same stare from his model but the way he say stuff like how he feels that he as the leader of the gang has let everybody down is just sad

Its them saying goodbye to it (Dallas may be still up for it, though.Seeing how ambiguous it is to him throwing his mask or not) After that, each goes on to live their lives with their Offshore Money. But some of them do a party in a Mexican beach as their last meet up. (Oh, and Dallas getting a yacht called "Medic Bag" Is one of the funniest ways of embracing a meme full on)

Going to bed but you can’t fall asleep because your mind is flooded with the thoughts of having your parents, siblings, and friends dying and thinking, “What then?” “What will I do?” And wondering when you’ll die, because in reality, no one truly knows exactly when they will die, or how.
I think this music fits both to this ending of the game and to the whole entire plot of the game, because it perfectly symbolizes that, yes this is the end but....there's something more, something big that is still out there, maybe dangerous maybe not, but it's out there and it's waiting to be discovered, and it perfectly ties into the secrets of the game especially the whole "Murky water is not what it seems" and that the white house just might be a little bit dirtier underneath than we originally thought, as someone who spent multiple long hours working towards the secret ending with 3 friends, this music definitely hypes me up for when we'll do the secret ending.

I click a button on my screen informing me of an unlocked cutscene. I stare at my screen and realize the one game I truly loved in a long time was now over. Bain is dead. The heisters are finished. I remember being depressed for 2 days after this. It's not so much that the game itself was over, I mean I knew I could always just go back and replay heists. It was that this represented the end of an era. After MANY years of continuous content and good times, Payday 2 is finished, and THIS is how it ended. That game that refused to die was now complete. All those good times with all my buddies getting together and heisting on the weekends, getting completely engrossed in all the storylines this game had to offer, THIS is what multiple years and hundreds of hours was leading up to. Of course this was before I knew about the secret ending and Overkill making new DLC for the game a year later

i'm gonna miss bain. the only replacement i'd see working is Charon from John Wick (if they make PD3 and go with this ending as canon) they should also make it that Dallas joins the Continental and does heists for them. with new heisters (and maybe some returning ones)
Wasn't the video a metaphor for them burying their past and "retiring"? Bain probably died, but wouldn't he get/deserve a normal funeral? Not throwing masks on his coffin, then leaving him there without even burying the hole. I just think that would be a bit weird after all he's done. Anyways rest in peace Bain! Bain was like some nice guy contractor. In the end he dies and the payday crew is mourning his death. Nobody has answered this tho. Why? He was just a man handing out missions. What more could they have gotten out of him? What did bain bring to the table other than just missions? I mean look at Dallas at the end. Who was bain to him?
Dude I- OKAY gaming wise? Nearly omniscient navigator. Knows what to do and gives you objective. Always has a plan B. He’s present even during simple, calm situations. Like Goat Simulator day 2 or Framing Frame day 2. Plot wise…? He’s the leader of crimenet and he’s the one who introduces new members to the crew. He covers up your tracks after you’re done heisting AND delays the cops, also negotiates you out of custody. Y’know he also listens to the police radio and that’s how he knows when they’re coming?? PERSONALITY WISE: okay hear me out. He’s a criminal mastermind! He has NO REASON to keep complimenting you after every assault is over. He’ll say things like “a bunch of gladiators is what you are!” and “now THAT’S how it’s done!” He also refers to the Payday gang as “his team” and will blame _himself_ if things go wrong. Later on it’s revealed that Bain cares about his team more than his own life. In Reservoir Dogs he saw the signs! “Weird traffic coming over,” and “I should be surprised that a Gensec van is over here,” but he didn’t investigate it. In favor of navigating. Bain gets ambushed after you get into the van and the _third_ thing he says is “gotta get you guys out of there” THEY’RE IN THE VAN?? STOP He continues to relay instructions to you as he’s getting shot at! The last thing he tells you is to “be careful” The end is sort of bittersweet in the sense that even though Dallas seemed to hate Bain in both tutorial heists, he really _did_ care.
