  • Reports are swirling about the possibility of #mikevrabel succeeding #jerodmayo as the head coach of the #newenglandpatriots. Now, there is another layer. #joshmcdaniels, former head coach of the #lasvegasraiders and long-time #patriots offensive coordinator, could be coming with him. These dudes lost all credibility when they said they’d be happy with KLIFF KINGSBURY over Vrabel. Kingsbury decision making and playcalling as a HC in Arizona is what lead to his downfall. Yes he’s innovative and great at working with QB’s but time after time he made a multitude of self inflicted mistakes.

      Kind of sounds like Bill’s time in Cleveland before being fired going back to being a great coordinator, and getting a second chance! That didn’t workout too badly! But I guess people shouldn’t get second opportunities in your version of fantasy land!

    The thing you are missing about Josh is that because he has flamed out so bad as a head coach, it could be a good thing. Way less of a chance he leaves in two years. It would be one of those rare scenarios where you have a defensive head coach, but you also get to keep the same offense for a long period of time. Normally you lose that guy after two or three years if the team is good.

    • @DMKFACTOR

      Josh and his system is horrible for Drake Maye! Drake is a shotgun pistol spread QB! McDaniels system is an under the center run oriented quick pass game. It was perfect for a guy like Brady and worked great last century! Look at the weapons he had in Vegas, and it didn’t work. Different NFL tue Air Coryell days are long over!

      @ like I said, his time as a head coach was terrible. Just like so many great OC’s who are not cut out to be a HC. He would be a massive upgrade from what we have now.
      I agree he’s not a perfect fit from what we have seen him run before, but I would give him a much better chance at setting up a good game plan for Maye than what AVP has been able to do.
      I never said Josh would be my first choice if I could get anyone, only that he's a big upgrade and that he would probably stick around longer than someone who might be a more “perfect” fit. Such as Daboll would be, if he became available.

    • @DMKFACTOR
      @DMKFACTOR 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@tuffyburton1258 I’ll be honest with you! AVP has been holding back. They’re protecting Drake, also why it took so long to see him as the starter! AVP once he has a couple of weapons and a line that can protect the kid is going to open it up! He’s done a pretty good job with a oline full of practice squad talent and a wide receiving corp with guys who didn’t even start in college

      @@DMKFACTOR the worst part about this season is that our HC and DC have been so bad that it actually has people thinking AVP has been good. People need to remember this team wasn’t supposed to win 4 games this year per Vegas! They were right! Smh the inability of the patriots to move on from the glory days is why we're in such a sorry state to begin with. And this is no knock on Vrabel, because he does seem to be a good coach (although the jury is out on McDaniels at this point), but we need to stop thinking in terms of "hey remember X old player/coach? We should get him" because newsflash, Belichick's coaching tree is a total failure and after he left the organization had literally ZERO competent people left in the football operation

Parcells would come back to New England as head coach in 1993 and re-install the system used in the 1970s and 1980s, re-uniting with Ray Perkins as WR coach.
