I don't believe that the krafts are in agreement on keeping Mayo or not. It looks to me like Jonathan has seen more than enough, like most fans and media have. Robert, on the other hand, is to personally attached to this hire to see clearly, which is why this was such a foolish hire in the first place.
Kraft is a fan of Mayo, I myself loved the kid from his time at Tennessee, as a Patriot and then as a coach with the team. He eventually will become a good coach.....will it happen soon enough???
Mike Vrable and Josh McDaniels need to get here ASAP. It has nothing to do with the locker room. That be damned. Robert Kraft knows all too well that the final decision, the only decision, comes from the fans themselves. The ones who pay for the tickets. The ones who buy the merchandise. The ones who watch on television. The ones who fill Gillette Stadium. We will determine when Mayo leaves. And that process has already begun.
We don’t need a football overlord. That’s just more chefs in the kitchen. We just need a competent GM and a competent head coach that knows what he is doing.
What I think would push the Krafts to make the move is if you had the entire stadium chant ''We want Vrabel''... Mayo is a good guy from everything we hear, but he is just not ready, it was a bad move to make him a HC at the start of the season. We were lucky that Maye is super talented and that AVP actually knows how to coach a qb. What I would do is get Vrabel, and then if Maras decide to fire Daboll go to him and say, look we know what you did with Allen come do this to Maye and sign a contract 5 year full guaranteed highest paid coordinator in the league but you cant leave for at least 3 years. And for AVP I would offer him to stay on as a QB coach if Daboll is down with that because he did an superb job as QB coach so far.
I don’t like what I’ve seen from the team as a whole or Mayo respectfully. I think it was a mistake to dump Belichick. But what’s done is done. Firing Mayo and AVP would mean a new coach new OC no matter who that would be it would mean Drake Maye would have to learn a new system and likely open him up to more struggles. As much has I hate to say it I think the best play is to preach patience and let them grow into their roles. Sure it’s frustrating to watch Mayo put his foot into his mouth again and again but we’re nearing the end of the season and at the end it will be the time to sit with him and explain to him what he is expected to do and what he is not expected to do.
I've followed the Pats since their inception into the AFL. They have had many overrated teams where they never lived up to their degree of talent. It wasn't until they hired good coaching Bill Parcels and Bill Belichick that things turned around. Without coaching excellence things can stay pretty bad for a long time.
Could they hire Vrabel? Of course. Will they hire Vrabel? Of course NOT. Why? Kraft is too proud, too stubborn and FAR TOO CHEAP. We're all stuck with Mayo for another year. Would you field an entire team of 22 rookies, 11 on offense, 11 on defense? No, of course not. But that's basically what this coaching staff is. It's an entire staff of guys doing jobs THEY'VE NEVER DONE BEFORE. They ALL need to go. Bring in experienced people. You get what you pay for.
I like Vrabel but we need to keep AVP for one more season you cant pull a coach that's built repour with a rookie QB he needs steady development. look at Mac Jones. plus he's been getting better each week but our defense cant hold it together.
The Patriot's haven't looked great, but they also haven't been pathetic. The have been close to winning many games. They have many great pieces, and another top pick is headed their way. The problem I see is the Kraft's, firing Mayo would mean they picked poorly, IF they could offer Mayo the defensive coach, then move on to Vrabel. IMO Vrabel would have been the perfect choice last year, I'd love to see it, but too many things would have to happen for it to come to fruition.
I am no football genius, I have been a Pats fan since 1965. I've seen them play at every NE venue, Fenway and all the others. Lived through all the bad years, Squish The Fish, the loss to the Bears, the Plunkett years, iron man and unbelievable guy Steve Grogan. Some bad coaches I won't mention, and bad owners, Myer, Carroll, the fat ass Tuna who spent the Pats money while looking for his next job the night of the Superbowl. And, I have no good feelings with Mayo as head coach, I don't think he is the guy. That said, I think thy found their QB and have a couple on D that will be All Pros. Good RB room, some great special teams guys, but, the 2 lines are significantly under pro level. Ok, this rant is over.....sorry.
Curran has to stop with this football overlord nonsense. Just hire people that know wtf they are doing and aren't mediocre at their jobs. Stop the nonsense of making excuses and looking for ways to save the mediocre staff we have right now.
Why would they move on from Mayo if they literally knew they would suck and haven't even given him a real shot but that's typical of teams with black head coaches especially one of THE most racist areas and teams in NE. You guys want to get rid of a great HC for a guy that went 54-46 with the Titans recently and was given everything he wanted to make it his team and still sucked n you want that guy???? Lol pathetic
The talent is terrible, add in a new head coach, new OC and dc coaches, new unproven game plan with a rookie quarterback and everyone is blaming Mayo. What in the eff did you actually expect from this year??
@@hoovesandpawsanimalrescue I fully agree with you but he is a horrible coach plain and simple. The team constantly makes stupid penalties, horrible time management, horrible play calling. Also how does the defense go from #6 to the 28th in a year that was suppose to be his forte.
if the first game of this season is what mayo is attempting to replicate.... Then i'd stick with him and let him make the adjustments rather than starting over with someone new. all this DEI crap really is simply racial nonsense when we can clearly see what he's trying to accomplish. the first game was not an aberration. it's obvious what mayo is trying to accomplish. he needs better players and coaches that can adjust to the opposition. so lets not act like the guy doesn't know what hes doing. go back and look at that first game again. get brian deboll and bring back flores and bring on scott piolli as president of player personell.
The Bengals were actively trying to lose in Week 1 as part of a union style protest for bigger contracts. If you can't see that Mayo was hired to give Kraft woke credibility, then you obviously don't want to see it, and you think that THE truth is whatever you CHOOSE it to be.

How about we find a coach that doesn’t need a babysitter?

No overlords. Just get Vrabel ASAP!

AvP is the one I would keep in a slightly diminished role. He and Drake seem to work well together, so I would keep him as a QB coach.
chrsitian blinks a millions times a second my goodness
We need to get Vrable in here no matter what. He can consult for the next season and if Mayo bombs out again, Vrable can take over.
That would be a great choice you know players will love that idea 😊
There biggest plan should be getting some O line help, signing a FA receiver who's not pastor his prime and making sure they draft good players
Curran doing his best to save his bff Mayo
Him and everyone else with a microphone. 😂
If they hire a “football overlord” wouldn’t that guy’s first recommendation be to dump the HC?

Mike and Josh. Get this shit done.

The Krafts are stupid if they don't hire Vrabel!
Looking forward to a year from now when the story here will be “Are the Krafts considering UNC Coach Bill Belichick to replace Vrabel?”
I heard Hey Rich Hey is going to replace both of these guys on the Radio talking
Make avp qb coach n dabol as oc

I agree unless it's Josh McDaniels
@@MusicthatsStrange Facts and Maye is really, really good, thanks to Mayo's choice. Not throwing him into the fire was genius.

No, no, no mr Vrabel think
Vrabel is a middling coach at best. Bringing him in would be a disaster.
AVP has done wonders w/Maye. Stay the course
No they won't hire him cuz mayo will be our head coach next yr and I'm proud of that let's go pats ❤
