    Man, I was holding my breath along with you! Great job and excellent video! I am about to start a Wingnut Wings model and will be stepping up my modeling skills, as it is what this level of kit deserves. Wish me luck!

    Awesome. Lots of places describe this method but this is the first demo I've seen. Thank you for taking the time. Peace.

    Inspiring, salute! I think life is too short to be doing rigging with turnbuckles, especially on WWI bombers. I need to find an easier / faster way to do biplane rigging. 😅 But after watching your video I might give this a try if I can get my hands on a Wingnut Wings fighter kit at a decent price.

    Guys...I've just had a VERY positive customer service experience dealing with Uschi Van Der Rosten. I'm very grateful and a very happy modeller. I can't recommend doing business with Uschi highly enough. Happy modelling all.
    Peace.

    Yes you can see it in 1/72 .but only use 2lb fishing line .A biplane looks odd without rigging. . unless its a Fokker DV11 ,a Sopwith Triplane or a Fokker Triplane. and a few others

    Thanks mate! Part of the game isn´t it? How often we get inspired by the efforts of others. Just a humble attempt to give back at least a lill piece of it. Cheers mate!

    I know it's a bit stretchy, but if I have to just glue each end into mounting holes (Fine Molds Ki-10), can I shrink this line taught with some heat from a hot pin?

    • @Hooderlein
      @Hooderlein  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, not this one. Sounds like you´re referring to stretched sprue. This stuff is locked and loaed. No heat no hazzle... ;-)

    What size length for the brass tubing do you commonly use??? Great Tutorial, Thank you very much. Rob M.

    I actually stopped breathing with you 🤭 . Patience, they say is a virtue, and you definitely have patience.

      Thank you! :-) Thing is, it needs to be done, right? I mean there is no way around a proper rigging on a WWI plane. So...we better take a deep breath..... easy.....and get the job done. Or maybe not. LOL! But... no problem.... If we fail today...well then we might as well go ahead and try tomorrow... ;-)

    Riging could not bee seen if the scale of model be 1:72? Is that true?

    • @Hooderlein
      @Hooderlein  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wouldnt think so but would not try turnbuckles. I'd try with brass paint.

  • @MrNt1402

    Do you follow the same steps for both to and bottom wings?

    • @Hooderlein
      @Hooderlein  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      the turnbuckles often appear only on one side. I follow photos (if available) or any other source that seems to be reasonable.

    Very nice job on the video. Uschi, where did purchase the tiny brass loops that you have secured to the wings?

    • @Hooderlein
      @Hooderlein  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dear Rich, thanks for your message! These lil loops are hand drilled using a lil bit of copper wire and a pin. The pin has been removed and the drilled wire with the loop has been cemented into the wing using CA. Its really eaasy. Enjoy. :-) Thanks and all the best. Alex :-)

    • @dannyinaus
      @dannyinaus 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Uschi van der Rosten Hi Alex, great video, but please, please, please could you make a short video on how to make these loops? I don't have the imagination or know how to understand your explanation above lol

    • @Hooderlein
      @Hooderlein  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      The loops? Hm... you mean the lil wire eyelets or do you mean the loop the thread takes on its way back through the buckle?

    • @dannyinaus
      @dannyinaus 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      well, what ever you use to simulate the connection of the wire to the airframe.

      ***** Here is a photo that explains the trick. Its not mine but from one of my customers. I use a needle while he used a drill but the results should be almost about the same. files.homepagemodules.de/b560004/f110t5222p72592n3452.jpg

    Can the rigging be made of thin,strong wire and be super glued to marked places? I saw that being done on fkr triplane?

    • @Hooderlein
      @Hooderlein  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well it could but it's not very comfy and very easy to mess up, I'd say.

    • @ivanbuljanvanboelken4676
      @ivanbuljanvanboelken4676 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Uschi van der Rosten you can actualy buy very thin coper wire.you cant twist or bend it,straight as hell.Than you can cut it after measuring,and superglue it on marked spot...advice please.

    • @ivanbuljanvanboelken4676
      @ivanbuljanvanboelken4676 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      comfy? look this guy what he does and how...like damn neuro surgeon...many builders gave up modeling ww1 planes. that period is what they like the most,but still gave up,and start,continued ww2 modeling...

    • @ivanbuljanvanboelken4676
      @ivanbuljanvanboelken4676 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      all because rigging

    • @Hooderlein
      @Hooderlein  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say its very comfy if you like an elastic rigging and a turnbuckle and you like to do it by your own. But hey, there is still GasPatch for your convinience at them tunrbuckles and you´re good. (y)
