Hey guys! Just got back and had the chance to fix this video, now you can see the final results at the end! Be sure to drop a like for me please, and thank you so much for watching :)))) Normal upload schedule resumes now!
Was just sitting at the break table at work wondering "can I add paddle shifters to my 330i?" And that's how I got here. Looks like I have a summer project! Fantastic video!
I literally thought to myself right at the start of the video. "If i try this i bet id get the wires the wrong way and it would shift down with the up paddle and vis-versa" 😂
I love your video's man. Just the title , Easy E90 mod haha ! I work in the car business and most people can't even change light bulb in the car :P Let alone disambling a dashboard and all these wires :D For us it's easy ofcourse !
I think these are the sport mode and PRND lights. I bought this retrofit set and my sport mode doesn’t work anymore and the lights of PRND don’t work. When i remove the Y retrofit cable under the shifter and connect it back to the old cable the Sport mode does work again and the lights are back. So i cannot use paddle shifters and sport mode.
@AN3CCAHNPO so if i understand this correct, if i do this mod i WILL have paddles but WILL NOT habe sport mode from the gear lever and the lights wont illuminate?
@@Bimmer-Fonz I think I need to correct myself. I bought the cable from Nadi Performance, and this cable is missing some wires, and the seller is not taking responsibility. He sells the cable for $130 but it’s a cheap and incorrect one. Many people have this issue with the same cable from Nadi. I had the paddles working, but my PRND light is off and the S/D function doesn’t work. When I reconnect the original cable under the gear shift knob the S/D function and the PRNDS light works again.
Hi I’ve just bought a steering wheel with the paddles and the squib if I fit these will I still need to do this wire mod or could I code them in using a computer. Thank you
I tried this but in my car does not work... on the forum i saw that you should wire the paddle directly to the black steering wheel harness inside the wheel, should i try that?
Yo bro, i have question regarding gearshifts paddles work like a charm but only in DS mode. My car is 325xi and i had also yellow cables in steering clumn switch center so i unplagged them and connected directly to X10809 and X10808.
Hi there, I just bought a 2009 328i coupe that comes with paddles. however though i just noticed that when I use the right paddle it goes up in gear as it is suppoused to but when i put use the left paddle it goes uo in gear as well.... any assistnace/ help would be greatly appreciated :( Do you think it could be something wrong with the wiring? or is there a configuration for it ? thank you.
@@TheBimmerBarn yeah it does help! I saw that on a forum so I have it figured it out! Seems it is like this with the is model, newer models is right paddle shifts up, left shift down. Thanks for responding regardless!
Hey i boutgh i harnesrshift from ali. Which is working good, but i also has the same issue, it shift the opposite. Can i swap the cables under the steering wheel? Cause i have factory clips under the consol.
Hey! I also bought my harnesses from Ali, the harnesses came with 4 wires Black, White, Blue and yellow wire with red stripes, i know the black and white goes on pin 2-4 but im not sure where the other 2 goes, do I just leave them out?
hey i have a question, can I just buy a M3 steering wheel with paddles, the wiring kit. and thats it? or do i actually have to get the buttons from a non M steering wheel to make it work???
If you have M-sport steering wheel already, I think you can just buy the paddles and attach them. Non-sport wheel never came with paddles, so you'd need the whole steering wheel. Great question thanks for watching!
Yo dope ass video! I wouldnt even go Idrive I would just get an f30 style touch screen. Also I been wanting to know if this was possible on the 2007 328i e90 sedan??? I want to do it so bad and it looks like you used a similar model. Also I do have sport model with triptonic shifter.
hello, thanks for the videos. I have a 2009 model e 60 520 d LCI. I bought an m tech steering wheel in the making of paddles I connected the push and pull 3-wire paddles to pin 11 and ground the paddles upshift, but when you choose to downshift, they don't downshift, on the contrary. that is, the gears increase in push and pull. Can you provide information on how to solve this issue?

Did you ever find out what those additional wires were for?

If your car has already the 2 wires in pin 2 and 4 then you need coding only to enable this option. No need to run new wiring 😊
Which VO codes need to be writing on car?
And how to coding this with ncs-expert?
@@42-BMW-M572XA
Bro could you explain how exactly? With bimmercode or
Ncs i saw some
Videos but were f30…have you tried it on e90 and it worked?
How so? Where do the 2 wires lead to? Don’t see them anywhere near the shifter area
Did you ever figure out what the yellow and yellow/black wires in the connector at the steering wheel do? They seem so promising.

Update: got mine working!! The answer is yes, you need to directly wire the paddles like the forum says, if you still need help lmk
Is e70 2008 similar installation? Thanks
Why do you replace steering angle?
Hi, did you have to adjust anything in the steering wheel wiring or just the slip ring to gearbox will make it work?
Good question
Hi! where can you buy an adapter?
can you do this on an automatic 320 e93?

Hey there, both paddles operate the same: pull back to go up a gear, push it forward to go down a gear. Hope that helps!

sorry but why did you swap the wiper buttons and clockring too ? i dont get it. From Brazil.
Because the old wiper buttons are from a e90, and that doenst have a back wiper

Just tried this it did not work the yellow wires are for the steering wheel buttons as cut them and no power going to the buttons and not illuminating

2 questions...
1,Where do those 2 wires go to that you had to replace and
2,why replace wipers etc on the clock slring.
Iam about to tackle this job
Can this be done on a manual 6spd
Sure, but the wires from the paddles would have nothing to attach to, unless you wire them up to something no transmission related I guess!
