you don't really realize how big the bosses are until you really think about it
Yeah, it’s sort of like DKC1 K. Rool. When you’re playing, it doesn’t look super huge, but you remember that your character in-game is a full grown man / woman who could be taller than you are and then you realise the size of some of the bosses.
The destroyer has a crazy size, bigger than probably any man made building.
Can we just appreciate that skeletron prime has a hand that flips you off?

The wall of flesh looks great, just imagine you are surrounded by pools and rivers of lava, suddenly a giant wall of flesh with eyes and mouth with fangs at random sizes, suddenly appears and it started looking at you and chasing you while you are trying to comprehend its magnitude. Nonetheless, I haven't met the wall of flesh yet

This is what your character sees while you are in 2D
It makes you realise how absolutely terrifying it must be for your character to face such gigantic, disturbing monsters, if what they see is un-pixelated and 3D.
This art is terrifying yet relaxing in an unsettling way.

3d WoF is as terrifying as all cartoon characters when they face the screen
Just like fan made Peppa Pig, who has 4 eyes. But if you pause on very rare moment when they spin, or just buy a Peppa Pig toy and look at its front, it has 2 eyes. So 2 eyes on a side are just cosmetic.
