A HD delivery guy dropped a lawn tractor right in my back yard beyond a 6 ft fence, 15' from the curb. The crate just made it past the double gate entrance I built 27 years ago. When I saw how easy it was to fit the forklift between the posts, I kept thinking what a genius idea it was to build that into the design. I've driven trucks, cars, and ATVs into my backyard through those gates.
Dude I was a CDL driver for Carter Lumber and now the dispatcher for 3 stores. I showed this to a few drivers we all laughed our asses off how you leave like $5000 worth of decking on the side of the road! That shit would never fly over here in Ohio dude. The reason we have Moffits is to get in places the truck cant. Absolutely insane these people spend that kind of cash and you drop the shit literally hanging over the road.
@Robert M he’s an idiot plain and simple. He could care less about people’s stuff. A perfect example of everything that is wrong with the world. Karma exist for a reason.
@@anoldfriend3901 what exactly was he supposed to do with it? I agree he could've gotten it closer to the wall but the only other option was legit sinking into & ruining that driveway. Yes please start a new channel for woodworking. That's what I do. I will help you anyway I can sir. It would you do me a favor? Give the weather coffee to sober her up. You have our weather. This rainy and the highs in the 80s in Texas this time of year is unheard of please send it back this way.
A cone or barrel would have helped the load on the grass. Maybe a flashing light after dark. (contractor problem). He should have used a smaller truck to deliver the load. My 3/4 ton with a tilt trailer could have put it anywhere. The "Pro-Desk" should have settled that problem.
Being new to your channel, I don't know all the "ins and outs" of the fork lift you use, or the time table of the contractor. But from what I could tell from my Stratolounger... seems to me you could have set those Items up over the retaining wall a little further back from the street where they would be a little safer. I would be afraid someone would steal some of it before the contractor got there. Thumbs up for how you dealt with the customer receiving the load. I'll definitely check out some more of your videos.
Thank you It is a curbside delivery because the asphalt gets really hot and mushy our tires will cause catastrophic damage if we are not careful. That's why we avoid the asphalt as much as we can on hot days.
@@SaffordDelivery What I was referring to was setting it up over the wall by rolling up on the grass in front of the retaining wall, but if the rule is curbside , then rules are rules.
Absolutely right. This shit would never fly where I work at Carter Lumber. The whole purpose of the moffit is to get it closer than the truck can. We have legally binding waivers the customer signs and we can drive anywhere on their property without liability.
If the contractor has to load it on his truck or a trailer to bring it the rest of the way up to the job site he might as well just pick it up at the yard. That's why I like good Lumber company's not Home Depot.
