Took a trip out in the boat targeting some Flounder on this day. We were using setups like what John Skinner used. Basic bucktail with a teaser setup. It was slow getting started but we found some good action.

I love flounder they are my favorite fish to eat. Trout and redfish are great to eat also. We jig for them and tip our lures with a little piece of dead shrimp. That's how we do it on the gulf coast in Louisiana and Mississippi. We catch most our fish in our marshes. And off the Mississippi coast. Redfish,trout,and flounders is what we mainly fish for. I can remember as a kid fishing the islands in the ches. Bay and no matter how many coolers we took we never had enough..flounder, croaker and spot all day long.
Not like that anymore... Still fish out there but definitely thinned out

That guy in the SEA PRO was in the same spot a week earlier . We caught two fish , one being a flounder on the other side :)

Cut the main vein underneath the gill plates. Its only 1 cut but it's a lot bigger vein. They bleed out way quicker and it's more humane...if that's what your worried about.
Not too worried about it, just figured some folks may appreciate it. I do like the cleaner meat though when you bleed them

Despite the wind that looked like a great day of fishing. I know if it was rough on you guys in the bay boat, that guy in the Jon boat around 3:20 was probably taking the beating of his life. I hope the flounder reach the Pocomoke and Tangier sounds soon. I am tired of catfish.

I have never seen jigging for flounders, I'm used to a 2oz sinker with bloodworm on a long shank.
I'm sure that would work as well. As long as it look tasty to the flatties!
I was at Rudee inlet memorial day and it was super muddy looking. I didn't catch anything on the kayak, but my buddy was on shore caught a bunch of croaker
You can catch trout and weakfish, croaker and such in pretty muddy water, FLounder really are tough though they like clear water, spanish as well

Hey Jesse. Been enjoying your videos and planning for fishing around Hampton Roads and Eastern Shore. Was wondering what percent of the ramps you use in this area are you able to launch from trailer vs having to use a dolly to launch from shore. Thanks
Almost every place I fish is ramp accessible. The Bay Bridge Tunnel is the exception, and its a big one

Plans have changed, wind are strong sw tomorrow. 1st Island and Lynnhaven probably not best option. Changing to Rudee Inlet Launch and hopefully the land mass helps with the winds. Probably be in the water around 11

Nice fishing! I agree with cutting the gills and bleeding them to get the blood out of the meat.But don’t fool yourself. It’s not humane. Gills are the equivalent of our lungs. I don’t think if someone ripped your lungs out and you basically died feeling Like you were suffocating that you would have said someone granted you a humane death. That said all the store bought meats we eat chicken , beef, pork etc have been bled and it makes better tasting food.
Good point, maybe not humane but figured its better than dying slowly in a cooler bag...
