It's so easy to do this!! Saves you like $40 after you buy the filter. You can even buy the washable filters and then pay nothing after the initial $45
Great instructions. Just used them to change the cabin air filter on my 2016 Prius C. The second step, where you have to squeeze in from the sides, to release the glove box, took quite a bit of effort, but I managed to get it done. Maybe because the car is older, the plastic has hardened up a bit? Either way, it worked. Thank you so much for making a quick, easy to follow tutorial.
I an confused by the air flow direction arrow. My filter says to place the arrow in direction of air flow but I dont know which direction the air is flowing.
@@PYR-Auto wait i’m a bit confused by this too - I assume the filter in yr video @1:35 has the arrow up meaning “this side up” - I think i may have installed my previous filter upside down because it said “airflow” - what is the impact of installing the filter upside down? i assume it’s not incredibly serious - but I am wondering what kind of efficiency loss there is?
newb here and apologies if this has already been asked. but what size/model of filter is used for this Prius model or is universal for all cars? Thank you
There are several different brands of and each brand have their own part numbers The cabin filters are just sold but the year, make and model of the vehicle.
Yes, you can find them on amazon. I don't have a specific brand I prefer but I would recommend getting a charcoal or carbon activated filter if you want to remove odors
While seeing you take it out was helpful, this video would have been more helpful if you had gone ahead and done the steps to install it and close the glove box back up.
Thank you for the clean, fast, and excellent video!
You're welcome!
That helped me fix my glove compartment box that wouldn’t close (because air filter cover had come off)
Appreciate it. Super clear and easy to follow.
Glad it helped!

Great video. I was able to do everything except get the glove box back into track 😅. Had to go to Toyota to snap it in

If the filter says airflow, then you want the airflow pointing down - towards the ground.

Is it worth going for washable/reusable filter ?
I don't personally use them so I'm not sure on that
Do you know if I can purchase the filter from Amazon and if so which product you recommend. THX
