Batman Arkham series is literally the game that I've been searching for my whole life. The action, the fighting, the platformer is just sooo good. I literally played these games nonstop from 7AM to 3AM like crazy everyday that it makes my body surrender for real. Arkham series is my game, it was the game that I've been looking for.
Alright tell me what do you all think of it. Instead of Wonder Woman being free from Brainiac’s control, it’s Batman. The entire SS:KJL (Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League) is more gritty and darker, yet full of color (like a mix between Gotham Knights and Batman Arkham Knight), you get considerable good side missions that DO AFFECT THE MAP, and you get Batman Arkham helping you and you the player helping him get a plan. Moving into the last 2 boss fights of the game, somehow Batman gets captured and Brainiac gets control of him, you fight Batman controles by Brainiac as a boss and in the end you K.O him (imagine something like, Waller saying that he could be useful if they find a way to sever the connection of Brainiac’s control). Then in the last boss fight you fight Superman and NOT BRAINIAC (Brainiac is just like sitting on a throne protected by a shield) Superman gets killed in the first fase and then you get on the second fase, The Brainiac (he makes different transitions between the other bosses you fought in the game, so it’s not only the Flash again). Then at the end of his battle, Brainiac incapacitates the Suicide Squad and BATMAN appears with his iconic line (he has some kind of gadget he made along the way to help you defeat Brainiac). So ANOTHER BOSS FIGHT STARTS and you have THE BATMAN as your ally now, the Suicide Squad pins Brainiac down and Batman destroys him (without killing him), in the process he gets fatally injured. In the end, Brainiac’s ship is getting destroyed and falling from the sky, almost every memeber of the Justice League is dead, except for Batman, the Suicide Squad pick him up and put him on the same bench, that same bench, but Quinn doesn’t shoot him, instead there is some emotional moment for the player, it even starts raining, as Batman’s eyes loose their glint and he becomes just another corpse in that destroyed Metropolis, roll credits with the thank you for the VA that did Batman, with a departing message from the old team that did the Arkham games. THEN post credit scene we get all that Waller and 12 more Brainiacs. Sorry if it’s too long but I thought it would atleast be a more befitting end to the dark knight.

This game should've been a standalone game not connected to the Arkhamverse. SSKTJL is complete ass in the story department. Gameplay and graphics look decent if I do have to say something positive about it.

The Rocksteady that made SS isn't the same Rocksteady that made the Arkham trilogy. It's a company changed in all but name. They could have made a game about anything and it still would have sucked.
First off- your audio is weird. It sounds fine but ive gotta put you up to max to get the same output I get from most other videos at around half, and then the gameplay footage is a little loud. Could use some tweaking. Now, in regards to the actual content- youve got some fair points but I don't quite understand some of them. I don't get the disdain for the decision to kill off Batman in the series. In combination with other factors, like the clear political leanings the game is taking on, I can see how it might just be one more thing that people could dislike. That said, I don't think that killing off a character is intrinsically a bad thing, especially when it's to end an era. Im someone who honestly kinda likes my media being gritty enough to not pull its punches and kill the main characters- it's why everyone went fucking wild over season 1 of Game of Thrones (or in my case, the first book). It threw us for a loop. It was devastating. And it was incredible at the same time despite the inherent grief associated with a major character death. Putting aside the other problems I had with TLOU2, I genuinely really liked the decision to both kill Joel and then delve into the true depravity and desperation that resulted in Ellie because of it. It was a darker take on a series that always had a high capacity for it, but that had tried to lean closer into themes of hope, love, redemption, etc. in the past. I do understand why people wouldn't like that- it's a severe tonal shift and it's not what initjally brought people in. It was never going to please everyone while doing something new and exploring additional themes. That was a given. Gameplay points are good ones. Newer games don't seem to understand what made past games successful. Things are getting considerably worse, and you can even see it in games that have been recieving updates for a long time. Overwatch I think is a decent example- it's been out since 2016 and recieved fairly consistent updates. Then they marketed OW2 as a PvE expansion and then it basically turned out to be a shop update with predatory monetization and significantly worse gameplay and balance while they quietly cancelled all the PvE content they'd supposedly been working up to and on for years. The deadshot race swapping is fair in some respects, but I think there is a way simpler explanation. The Suicide Squad movies grossed between them more than a billion dollars, and the deadshot featured in them was black. They clearly aren't marketing this game to existing players, so why wouldn't they cater to new appearances in the hopes of bringing in even a fraction of the people who consumed the movies? It's disrespectful to the existing playerbase, absolutely. But game studios are out for one thing now (and in some respect that's always been one of the largest motivators anyways) and it's money. The figures aren't concrete, but Arkham Knight is estimated to have sold between 5-7 million copies total, and the collection of games themselves (counting the 4 mainline games) have sold somewhere around 30 million, give or take according to the sources I can find on it. Spiderman & the much smaller Miles Morales Spiderman sold 33 Million and Spiderman 2 is nearly doubling that. The Arkahm series is just significantly more niche, and not every single person who bought the games in the first place is going to return for this one. Not everyone who bought the games finished them in the first place. Returning playerbases are going to be significantly smaller than the total portion of people who bought the game at all. It's not as profitable to market towards you guys when they could instead market towards a much larger consumer base, which is what has worked for Spiderman and which has been set up for them to do with the Suicide Squad movies as well as the new Robert Pattinson Batman movie. It's definitely scummy, but that's what happens when people and companies are driven by money and one side of the political spectrum is far more profitable than the other. I skimmed through your points and just wanna give my take on how you said it's not bad to kill of a character. You're absolutely right that it's not bad to kill of a character, even the main one. But the thing is that he's killed off in an absolutely disrespectful and downright hateful way. They kill him off without letting him speak, torturing him, and on a fucking park bench. Compare this to Arkham Knight's send off where we see Bruce conquer his demons, save Gotham one last time, and go out on his own terms. Whereas Suicide Squad feels like a cheap excuse to bring him in again to get money, and it's even more obvious with how they brought back the Joker for a fucking DLC. This game is a spit in the face to Arkham fans everywhere. And it could literally ALL be solved if it wasn't set in the Arkham universe so there's no excuse. And on top of that Robin fucking dies off screen, we grt an exposition dump about how the Justice League forms, rather than seeing it happen, and the entire time the game's not only killing characters you love, BUT TALKING SHIT ABOUT THEM WHILE DOING IT, AND ACTING ALL HIGH AND MIGHTY. This game is a disappointment and shouldn't have been made, it should've died in the writing room. Secondly- you make great points. It's disrespectful to the fans of the initial series. While I do know *why* they're taking that approach, it doesn't make it feel any better. I appreciate the elaboration, because I'll be the first to admit that I don't really have personal stakes in this particular game. I've watched a fair portion of Arkham Knight, but I was way behind the popularity curve and Batman has never really been my thing in the first place. I didn't even really get big into games as a personal experience rather than things I occasionally watched until around 2018-2019 (I blame my awful mountain internet that couldn't even play TH-cam on 360p and my broke ass self), so I missed a lot of the things that made a big impact on certain portions of the gaming community. I'm someone who never got to experience the "golden era" as it was happening, and had to go back and experience it completely alone or with my husband as my only guide/companion to share it with, and it wasn't an equal level of discovery because he'd played it all before. Anyways, long story short, with the added context of what actually happens in the game, I 100% agree with you. My point about character death isn't really the core of the issue fans are bringing up, it's just something that I noticed because not all of the fans are the most articulate about exactly why these things sting so I had extrapolated that it was major character death in itself rather than how it ended the characters as people, arcs, and meaningful impactful pieces of media/messaging.

What I like is my business. And admit it, your only problem with this game is that it's set in Arkhamverse. If it wasn't, nobody would be THIS mad over a video game. Because the gameplay is insanely fun, and story is alright too. It's not perfect, there are story elements I'd like to change, but it doesn't deserve this level of hate.

Then they marketed OW2 as a PvE expansion and then it basically turned out to be a shop update with predatory monetization and significantly worse gameplay and balance while they quietly cancelled all the PvE content they'd supposedly been working up to and on for years.
The deadshot race swapping is fair in some respects, but I think there is a way simpler explanation. The Suicide Squad movies grossed between them more than a billion dollars, and the deadshot featured in them was black. They clearly aren't marketing this game to existing players, so why wouldn't they cater to new appearances in the hopes of bringing in even a fraction of the people who consumed the movies? It's disrespectful to the existing playerbase, absolutely. But game studios are out for one thing now (and in some respect that's always been one of the largest motivators anyways) and it's money.
The figures aren't concrete, but Arkham Knight is estimated to have sold between 5-7 million copies total, and the collection of games themselves (counting the 4 mainline games) have sold somewhere around 30 million, give or take according to the sources I can find on it. Spiderman & the much smaller Miles Morales Spiderman sold 33 Million and Spiderman 2 is nearly doubling that. The Arkahm series is just significantly more niche, and not every single person who bought the games in the first place is going to return for this one. Not everyone who bought the games finished them in the first place. Returning playerbases are going to be significantly smaller than the total portion of people who bought the game at all. It's not as profitable to market towards you guys when they could instead market towards a much larger consumer base, which is what has worked for Spiderman and which has been set up for them to do with the Suicide Squad movies as well as the new Robert Pattinson Batman movie. It's definitely scummy, but that's what happens when people and companies are driven by money and one side of the political spectrum is far more profitable than the other.

I skimmed through your points and just wanna give my take on how you said it's not bad to kill of a character. You're absolutely right that it's not bad to kill of a character, even the main one. But the thing is that he's killed off in an absolutely disrespectful and downright hateful way. They kill him off without letting him speak, torturing him, and on a fucking park bench. Compare this to Arkham Knight's send off where we see Bruce conquer his demons, save Gotham one last time, and go out on his own terms. Whereas Suicide Squad feels like a cheap excuse to bring him in again to get money, and it's even more obvious with how they brought back the Joker for a fucking DLC. This game is a spit in the face to Arkham fans everywhere. And it could literally ALL be solved if it wasn't set in the Arkham universe so there's no excuse. And on top of that Robin fucking dies off screen, we grt an exposition dump about how the Justice League forms, rather than seeing it happen, and the entire time the game's not only killing characters you love, BUT TALKING SHIT ABOUT THEM WHILE DOING IT, AND ACTING ALL HIGH AND MIGHTY. This game is a disappointment and shouldn't have been made, it should've died in the writing room. Secondly- you make great points. It's disrespectful to the fans of the initial series. While I do know *why* they're taking that approach, it doesn't make it feel any better. I appreciate the elaboration, because I'll be the first to admit that I don't really have personal stakes in this particular game. I've watched a fair portion of Arkham Knight, but I was way behind the popularity curve and Batman has never really been my thing in the first place. I didn't even really get big into games as a personal experience rather than things I occasionally watched until around 2018-2019 (I blame my awful mountain internet that couldn't even play TH-cam on 360p and my broke ass self), so I missed a lot of the things that made a big impact on certain portions of the gaming community. I'm someone who never got to experience the "golden era" as it was happening, and had to go back and experience it completely alone or with my husband as my only guide/companion to share it with, and it wasn't an equal level of discovery because he'd played it all before.
Anyways, long story short, with the added context of what actually happens in the game, I 100% agree with you. My point about character death isn't really the core of the issue fans are bringing up, it's just something that I noticed because not all of the fans are the most articulate about exactly why these things sting so I had extrapolated that it was major character death in itself rather than how it ended the characters as people, arcs, and meaningful impactful pieces of media/messaging.

What I like is my business. And admit it, your only problem with this game is that it's set in Arkhamverse. If it wasn't, nobody would be THIS mad over a video game. Because the gameplay is insanely fun, and story is alright too. It's not perfect, there are story elements I'd like to change, but it doesn't deserve this level of hate.

What I don't understand is the hate going around the game, Is just petty fans and yes the fans are petty when you are seeing literal edits of people killing Rock steady employees because of this game. 😂 People need to realize that the Justice League Isn't the Justice League.😂 And they're controlled by brainiac so they are far from their original counterparts.. And the game is an arkam game from the ground up. If you haven't explored the map or listen to all the audio logs and the codex files And just are basing off the gameplay And the story is whack..
