I’m a Tech alum, I was really surprised how much I ended up liking it there. It was low on my list of schools I wanted to go to. It was actually my visit that changed my mind. Fun video, good times haha!
i'm starting at tech this fall and i'm in the same boat actually lol 😭 i wasn't interested in tech at all but i went to visit and actually really liked it there
Tech has wonderful recreational facilities, parks, pools, gyms, amazing library. This is a very safe campus. Diversity is welcomed.. We really appreciate diversity here. Food here is not great, but just go across the way and all good restaurants on University.. JBs has great coffee.. World class faculty..
2018 alum. TTU was my home and will always be. After graduating I came to Austin and attended UT for a master's degree, and all I could think while I was there was how much I missed TTU. The people are so friendly, the landscape is unique, and everyone bleeds Red and Black. I met my best friends, and the love of my life in Raiderland, and it's always a blessing when I get to go back. Living in Austin, DFW or Houston, when you arrive in Lubbock, its a shock. You can drive around the entire city in 15 mins. Overall Tech is a very good school and the campus is first rate.
I'm not from there, so I was shocked to hear the girls say you need a humidifier. I've always thought Texas was very humid, except way out in west TX like in El Paso. So this might be the perfect place for me to move to, because I don't mind the heat, I just don't like humidity. Is it true that it's pretty dry there, like a desert?
I’ve heard people from more dry environments like California or Arizona complain about how humid Lubbock is. I’m from North Carolina which is very humid and think Lubbock is very dry. So I’d say it’s about average humidity. Our most humid days are like 60 % humidity, but that’s our most humid. I think it’s typically an average of 40% humidity.
@@laurenf.6359 Interesting. Very good info. I lived in the Los Angeles area for many years, and right now I'm in Phoenix, so that's both of the places you've mentioned other people being from. I think typical humidity in L.A. was around 30 to 35%, and in Phoenix it's about 20%. So 40% is more, but doesn't seem like that much more, so that's good to know. And you obviously don't have 110° days like we do in Phoenix all the time. I assume you'll be at 100 a few times, but not many. Do your friends from Arizona feel that, overall, the summer isn't as bad there as it was in AZ?
@@KP99 yeah we don’t usually get above 100 heat wise. I honestly don’t have friends from Arizona. There were people in my class who were talking about the humidity so that’s what I was referencing before. I don’t think the summers are bad cause there’s usually wind to help and I usually find spots in the shade that are perfect temperature.
“Lack of school spirit”? WHAT?! That girl needs to quit hanging out at Chosen. I’m flabbergasted that anyone would say that. Tech is known for the most loyal fan base in the state.
I moved to Fort Worth back in ‘07. No one cares about the toads over here. No school spirit outside of 1-30/ 1-20 and university. A couple signs downtown. That’s about it.
😂 sooooo did they randomly choose these students or hired them? Because Lubbock is actually terrible and tech is ok, love is a stretch. The Drivers are horrible, terrible parking even if you pay for a pass. Depending on which one you get, the Financial advisors are rude and rather not do their job, There’s more stray animals then the homeless, (and that says a lot) atmosphere smells like a horses ass, the pot holes will definitely mess up your tires after the first semester, and some of the student housing looks horrible 🤮 and un safe . There so much trash, drug addicts, and I can go on and on. I wish I would have done a full research on the area and not just what the school promotes. Do your research people this will be your temporary home and lifestyle.
What could ttu do better? Obviously sports b/c we are totally irrelevant at every sport! What's good? It offers a place for all the students who couldn't get into any others & have always been leftover spares to come together and feel like alittle less of a loser. What sucks? Sports, tradition/spirit, and everyone sucks off everyone else. Overall it's a great place to build your self esteem being surrounded by other losers...

Can you cool in the dorms?
@@twintunecomedy you mean chill? Ya I guess. If you want to stay in the dorm over the summer I think you pay more.

Love to hear it Alexander. Same for me.
what's unique about the landscape? Never been there but want to go
@@KP99 not much on that end. Flat and dry.. but it's a great area for gravel riding.

There are so many international students at tech. I'd love to see you interview them too.
Great idea!
This interview look like stage.
Loved Texas Tech. Absolutely loved it.
MY BRO JUST SAID "screw A&M, WE'RE GOING TO TECH BABY LET'S GOOOOO..." !!! 5:14
Funny that when she said “no spirit” you heard the band in the background.
That was the most inappropriate comment in the video. Should have been on the cutting room floor.
Tech was the best !!!! 2020 grad here. The most fun I've ever had in my life was at the basketball games!
Awesome Matthew :)
We love it too!

Great question. I know the rec center has a room dedicated for wrestling! And yes it is!
Tech is truly the best, all other Texas schools suck ❤️
You should’ve checked the anime folks school IDs. I remember some of the magic the gathering people at my college didn’t even attend the university.
I think they were legit 😁
What a stupid comment.
@@renerocha6334 What a lazy comment, but considering Texas has a high obesity rate, makes sense. At least have some constructive criticism.

That area is also the free speech area, so you don't have to affiliated with Tech to be there.
