_5 had the vibes of what made the best chinese martial arts movie good._ _it didn't need to rely mostly on gimmicks in order to keep your attention, to distract you from the fact that the fight scenes are lackluster._
I love how when he's fighting off the troops he's actually using moves that he had in older games and I assume the new combo mechanic moves as well. 1:15 the bendy spear move he had since DW7 that you go into his EX strike. Looks nice.
Eh, kind of weak. Given the sheer number of character trailers uploaded recently and the emphasis that Koei has put on the open world, I was expecting a more dynamic and varied trailer showing off at least a couple notable members from each faction and at least one new character from each faction. Also the final scene with Zhao Yun against the army became a barely readable mess with just how many infantry spears flew by the screen. That said, I'm still buying the game.
this intro is really fitting. the playable cast are toted as legendary heroes worth hundreds or thousands of soldiers in battle-- so this opening really dives into that by showing them as if they were forged by some universal force to be unparalleled weapons.
The rebirth symbolism is very strong here. He’s literally being reforged and thrust into a new world of battle. That’s freaking awesome! Kudos to Omega Force for the artful directing!
I think they're trying to show the customization part of the game, like crafting (and i think there's a kind of skill building but it's still vague xD). And maybe a little open world thing by having Zhao Yun descent to the world. It IS lacking tho compared to previous ones that used iconic battles for their opening. that being said, this is still awesome and i'm buying the game.
Finally glad to see just Zilong in the opening scene. Much as I love the others, he's the most iconic and it always warms my soul to see him more focused upon.

This is a historical game, the opening with zhao yun looking like he's being a robot with armor being attaching to him external seems wrong and out of place...
But what if OP Zhao Yun IS a Robotic alien sent from some alien warship fighting against enemies in ridiculous situations... What if the dude in all the DW openings IS that Zhao Yun? ZILONGBOT CONFIRMED.
Still disappointed that KoeiTecmo missed the chance to give Wen Yang a better weapon set. They should have went with a Shield w/ Javelin weapon set for him. SMH 😧
