It isn't in the 49ers nature to roll over and call it a season but they are risking the long term health of players like Trent Williams, CMC, Bosa, Kittle and Purdy by playing them whenever they are close to fit. There is no benefit to slogging it out for the rest of the season when the health of the team just isn't falling their way. The 49ers have a young roster, I would much rather see Players like Jordan Mason, Isaac Guerendo, Jacob Cowing, Ricky Pearsall, Evan Anderson, Kalia Davis, Sam Okuayinonu , Dee Winters, Tatum Bathune, Darrell Luter Jr, Malik Mustapha, Ji'Ayir Brown get lots of reps so they can become good players for the 49ers. Stop riding your best players til the wheels fall off. Running CMC into the ground against the Seahawks was moronic.
The 49ers are at a crossroads when it comes to the staff and the playing roster. Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch aren't going anywhere so those who think he is aren't living in reality.
The 49ers are more than likely going to be looking for another Defensive Co-Ordinator in the off-season. They will be looking for new Special Teams Co-Ordinator and it wouldn't shock me if they try and find a new O Line coach and a run game Co-Ordinator.
I'm targeting Robert Saleh or Jeff Ulbrich for the DC role. I would go after Mike Munchak for the O Line coach/Run game Co-Ordinator position and I'd hope to get Chris Tabor for the S/T Co-Ordinator role.
John Lynch should make his permanent move to President of football Operations and he should appoint a General Manager. The 49ers need another voice in that room. If Chris Ballard gets let go by the Colts, I would definitely target him.

YES!! It is 2020!!! And It is not by accident. No one wants to play for Coach Kyle.....any excuse to not play or practice is what players do when they don't like the Coach!!!
